Halo is coming back. Guys what was the problem with 343 the past 12 years? I'll give you 4... Bonnie Ross Frank o Connor Chris Lee Kiki wolfkill Microsoft fired them now. Pierre Hintze is running the studio. He has already proved himself fixing Halo MCC with only 15 other devs for 2 years and that was just to make all the titles playable online! I'd changed the name of the studio to wash away Bonnie Ross and Frank o Connor
Microsoft IS the problem. And Pierre Hintze is Microsoft. Bungie was very stubborn when it came to running their studio as if they were independent and didn’t tolerate much executive interference. As long as Microsoft has their greedy paws pulling the strings, halo will never be allowed to thrive because the larger a company is, the more out of touch they are.
Nothing's really changed a new name? a different logo? UE5? They called them research projects. Are we in high school? We go through this every single time they announce something. Have you forgotten the Halo Infinite animals and biomes we never got? They’ve allegedly hired new people and replaced the ones who are accused of running Halo into the ground in the first place, but I’m still not impressed or interested. I hear they intend on creating a Halo CE remake. This leads me to believe they may try and hard reboot the original series. Could be interesting (for good or bad) at best, and a last dying breath of the franchise at worst. I wonder how they’d handle Halo 2, since the original version way back was scrapped essentially.

It says on the news that 343 was re-branded into Halo Studios, this alone doesn't really mean much. They will have some of the same people working on the new games as before, so don't get too excited just yet. I like what I'm seeing here but we gotta take it with a grain of salt
They literally changed the whole administration also they fired the employees that were underperforming around March/May....they kept the good employees plus they're hiring new people
I agree with you man, but you know how people are. Just takes a rebrand apparently to make people forget the last three games. 343 has changed staff members before and it only got worse. Only reason their changing now is because 343 is straight poison as a name. I’d actually give them some slack if they said they were starting fresh after Halo 3 and undoing all the crappy retcons and additions to the lore they did.
People are really quick to forgive because of a name change. Which they only did because 343 as a name is just poison to anything its attached to. The same hype was for Infinite and its “Future” and we saw how that turned out. Not saying it’s impossible for Halo to turn around, just very unlikely unless a new dev team is given the reigns.
New leadership, new devs, new direction, new era. don't punish this studio for the failings of 343. its not fair. not until Halo studios produce something until then we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. I remember growing up being so excited for Halo; going to midnight releases, skipping school the next day, and diving right in with my buddies. The old games weren't perfect, but you could tell they were projects of passion rather than profit. 343 in my opinion has let down so many fans who wanted sequels that stayed true to the vision that Bungie laid the groundwork for. I truly hope this new studio can create something incredible.

i think rebuilding Halo 1-3 in Unreal 5 with added story and lore would be awesome. they then can scrap everything after Halo 3 and make their own Halo 4 game. basically a soft reboot of the series or they can do the accidental time travel thing popping him in after Halo 3 and with his knowledge change the story from there.

Please remember guys that even though their name is different and this is a new group of people, this is still the same studio that made those previous halos. Whether you like it or not! been saying this on every overhyped halo studios video i come across. the people who get hyped from this will be the ones to pre-order and then act surprised when it flops hard. give halo to a brand new indie team, bring back Marty, the people who wrote Halo 2 and 3 and the people who designed the gameplay loops then Im sold
Setting up the foundry to allow the workers, the designers, the artist, the digital designers, everyone involved. It’s a really good sign because it at least hence to us that they care about the project they’re starting to create.
It's crazy that they spent 6 years between games in large part building the Slipstream engine, only to use it for one entry with apparently zero single player DLC (which was promised as a 10 year game at that) and then moving on. I hope the mismanagement of Halo is over, but it's been abused so long... After dumping the last games lore (again), the end of Infinite was potentially looping into some interesting stuff, I hope they don't just end it in a comic or off screen again and start something new yet again. The Endless seem to be a way to make everything come up Precursor, as it was always meant to.
Halo Wars had some really good iterations of energy swords in its cutscenes. From a cursory search, it looks like that was Blur studios as well (since you mentioned Blur's rendition in Halo 2 Anniversary).
I want Halo 3 anniversary. Mainly cause i want to see Halo 3 through a modern lens. I also just don’t trust them to make a full on new game. It would also be good for them to learn what made Halo great and how to use unreal engine 5. I hope the name change is indicative of a new studio as well in terms of personal.
All the fancy graphics in the world won’t make up for a lack of fun gameplay and well written story so I hope these guys will actually do well. Also hopefully they will include all the content on launch instead releasing it one part at a time
Tbh if this isn’t Rated M then I’m passing because I’m tired of the T rating we need back that darkness that use to be, blood/gore, scary themes of the flood, deep dark serious language, and fear. When I first played halo ce when it came out on the original Xbox and that level to this day when we get introduced to the flood had me horrified and scared tbh.
This, with ported infinite assets, other playable factions and races, allegiances, basically Halo Wars but first person. Basically battlefront in Halo. I'd fucking buy that. Lemme play as a Kigyar assassin with energy blades, lemme drive a scarab, give us more freedom and capability to express and customize the way we play! This is your CHANCE Halo Studios.

This next studio will be another soulless corporation wearing my beloved franchise as a skin to push half baked games, micro transactions and let’s not forget “the message”. I’ve been burnt to many times and I’m not stupid enough to fall for this again. HYPED! The new studio name will take some getting used to, but I like it, it’s basically a new studio anyway. Most their issues in the last few games were caused by engine limitations, so I’m excited to see them unlock their potential with Unreal!
Halo was a major part of my Childhood, In fact I've been taking heavy Inspiration from Halo with my own Series of books game's and maybe even an Animated Pilot one day that I've been working on. So I'm gonna be hopeful skeptical about It for now.
@@Warpee Basically It's been a passion project of mine for the past several month's, the premise of It will pretty much be a cross between Halo and the SCP Foundation but I have taken Inspiration from some other thing's as well Including the game Papers, Please and some other stuff too. Currently I'm working on the book series well I should be able to start developing the game series sometime around next year but I might try to do some other smaller stuff as well In the meantime.

Halo Infinite also sounded really good when the first trailer came out. The gameplay felt good but the rest was just sad. As a big Halo fan, I still played 400 hours and still had hope for the first 3 seasons.
Halo has to be R-Rated again. They need to bring back the plot points that people care about. Give it that high testosterone war feel. THEY KNOW WHAT WE WANT!

They're just showing off graphical fidelity, which is neat, but ultimately doesn't mean much when games come out all the time looking great, but still being garbage regardless. I remember staying up late in the summer playing halo 2 co op with my fav cousin! We had so much fun! That damn scarab I remember halo 3 multiplayer and just how much skill it really took to get a killing spree do not forget that last scene driving the warthog I remember odst that really put me in that suit in new Mombasa I remember reach having a story so good you couldn’t help but cry at the end , loadouts? Legendary! I remember halo 4 ordnance drops that just made it so iconic ! New stages! The saw undefeated I remember super fiesta in halo 5 that I played endlessly until I was always number 1 and bringing my team to victory ! I now play infinite and I feel a new dawn… and I can honestly say as someone that has been the chief been noble six played against and beside some of the greatest players worldwide….im ready for the new dawn…. There is so much potential and I think the new team is doing well and they will continue to do well! Let’s give the team all we can ! And no we’re not puppets , we’re Spartans
Btw, the new armor is a combination of the old Bungie Armor and the new and bulky 343 one. The helmet is pretty bungie like, while the armor has the 343 touch. I love it. It connects these two perfectly Y
I’ve been trashing modern games like AC and Dragon Age ruining their franchises so much lately, this reveal just made my day. I think we’re just getting started
I'm going to keep my expectations measured here. While yes, 343 had issues dealing with the maintenance of the Slipspace engine for Infinite; this studio as a whole has shown with multiple game releases that they don't grasp what the Bungie titles offered the players in terms of gameplay experience. Up until they commit to a fun gameplay experience over competitive serialization - I don't think any release will be received all that well. I WANT to believe in them, and I am hopeful of these 'other' projects possibly taking inspiration from other game formats to allow us expanded opportunities to dig into the world/lore in new ways...but there is still a STEEP walk to win some players back: in my opinion.

Actuality I would personally want halo studios ro remake every single halo game and bring back all the core missing features such as assassinations, split screen, no more game breaming bugs, etc. Also remove all micro transactions to replace with the grind halo reach delivered plus replace battle pass with free/$10 yearly dlc expansion. BRING BACK THE FLOOD!!!! All in all this might be a new chapter in halo for a bright foreseeable future. A new beginning.

After a beautifully done Remaster of the main trilogy is released, I do hope that they go their own way w/ a Halo 4, 5, etc. Bring back the Didact as he is an interesting enemy but don't kill him off after one game. Give him more time. Spend more time fleshing out Cortana's rampancy. Show more of what happened to the Arbiter after he went home. Make Locke and Tanaka more interesting Spartans as Vale and Buck were handled well( though Buck was hard to fumble tbh ). So much that could be done. Just..so much. Glad this team seems to truly love Halo. Here's hoping for the best!
My only concern is... a lot of their graphical and technical prowess came from their own internal "game company being a tech company" blam was designed in house, that water in halo 3 we all remember so fondly was developed in house. Thats not even talking anoit all the physics shenanigans. They managed to stay ahead of all others while also making a ground breaking ip and game. Will that be possible with half the formula missing? While following in unreals footsteps rather than forging their own? I'm not sure. I'll remain skeptically optimistic for now.

I love the visuals, I would like to have the environment be interactive in some areas, like Halo 3 brushing past leaves, etc, just to let it feel more sandboxy and have a sense of discovery. Like as a player wandering around and finding out what I can interact with and utilise that in combat potentially.

People are really quick to forgive because of a name change. Which they only did because 343 as a name is just poison to anything its attached to. The same hype was for Infinite and its “Future” and we saw how that turned out. Not saying it’s impossible for Halo to turn around, just very unlikely unless a new dev team is given the reigns.

Skepticism is understandable but you gotta acknowledge that the problem with 343i (the management) is completely gone and the devs are being allowed to be creative again. I remember growing up being so excited for Halo; going to midnight releases, skipping school the next day, and diving right in with my buddies. The old games weren't perfect, but you could tell they were projects of passion rather than profit. 343 in my opinion has let down so many fans who wanted sequels that stayed true to the vision that Bungie laid the groundwork for. I truly hope this new studio can create something incredible.

i think rebuilding Halo 1-3 in Unreal 5 with added story and lore would be awesome. they then can scrap everything after Halo 3 and make their own Halo 4 game. basically a soft reboot of the series or they can do the accidental time travel thing popping him in after Halo 3 and with his knowledge change the story from there.

This time at least we hear they are working on MULTIPLE projects, unreal engine, kinda just a new person with the name, a lot of leads that helped MCC come back and also start fixing infinite after 2 years. Just hopeful but yuh we wont know anything until an actual release to see if it did anything.

A new halo game needs to happen
It's crazy that they spent 6 years between games in large part building the Slipstream engine, only to use it for one entry with apparently zero single player DLC (which was promised as a 10 year game at that) and then moving on.
I hope the mismanagement of Halo is over, but it's been abused so long... After dumping the last games lore (again), the end of Infinite was potentially looping into some interesting stuff, I hope they don't just end it in a comic or off screen again and start something new yet again. The Endless seem to be a way to make everything come up Precursor, as it was always meant to.

Halo Wars had some really good iterations of energy swords in its cutscenes. From a cursory search, it looks like that was Blur studios as well (since you mentioned Blur's rendition in Halo 2 Anniversary).
I want Halo 3 anniversary. Mainly cause i want to see Halo 3 through a modern lens. I also just don’t trust them to make a full on new game. It would also be good for them to learn what made Halo great and how to use unreal engine 5. I hope the name change is indicative of a new studio as well in terms of personal.
All the fancy graphics in the world won’t make up for a lack of fun gameplay and well written story so I hope these guys will actually do well. Also hopefully they will include all the content on launch instead releasing it one part at a time

Tbh if this isn’t Rated M then I’m passing because I’m tired of the T rating we need back that darkness that use to be, blood/gore, scary themes of the flood, deep dark serious language, and fear.
When I first played halo ce when it came out on the original Xbox and that level to this day when we get introduced to the flood had me horrified and scared tbh.
This, with ported infinite assets, other playable factions and races, allegiances, basically Halo Wars but first person. Basically battlefront in Halo. I'd fucking buy that. Lemme play as a Kigyar assassin with energy blades, lemme drive a scarab, give us more freedom and capability to express and customize the way we play! This is your CHANCE Halo Studios.

HYPED! The new studio name will take some getting used to, but I like it, it’s basically a new studio anyway. Most their issues in the last few games were caused by engine limitations, so I’m excited to see them unlock their potential with Unreal!
Halo was a major part of my Childhood, In fact I've been taking heavy Inspiration from Halo with my own Series of books game's and maybe even an Animated Pilot one day that I've been working on. So I'm gonna be hopeful skeptical about It for now.

@@Warpee Basically It's been a passion project of mine for the past several month's, the premise of It will pretty much be a cross between Halo and the SCP Foundation but I have taken Inspiration from some other thing's as well Including the game Papers, Please and some other stuff too. Currently I'm working on the book series well I should be able to start developing the game series sometime around next year but I might try to do some other smaller stuff as well In the meantime.

Halo Infinite also sounded really good when the first trailer came out. The gameplay felt good but the rest was just sad. As a big Halo fan, I still played 400 hours and still had hope for the first 3 seasons.

I don't know what the fuck this would be if not a tech demo, literally just them fucking around in the engine. It's not a game, it's probably not any remake. They're just showing off graphical fidelity, which is neat, but ultimately doesn't mean much when games come out all the time looking great, but still being garbage regardless. Any further speculation is just heresay. Im begging people to have some fucking nuance, after so many game companies have screwed things up, 343 included, it's crazy that still has to be said. It's great to be excited for possibilities. Just don't get swept away by some fancy graphic showcase.

I'm going to keep my expectations measured here. While yes, 343 had issues dealing with the maintenance of the Slipspace engine for Infinite; this studio as a whole has shown with multiple game releases that they don't grasp what the Bungie titles offered the players in terms of gameplay experience. Up until they commit to a fun gameplay experience over competitive serialization - I don't think any release will be received all that well.
I WANT to believe in them, and I am hopeful of these 'other' projects possibly taking inspiration from other game formats to allow us expanded opportunities to dig into the world/lore in new ways...but there is still a STEEP walk to win some players back: in my opinion.

As soon as I heard "you said I could be my authentic self" at the beginning of this trailer, my hopes of getting a game starring the powerful, stoic, confident and tenacious John 117, Master Chief, who we all love and have grown up with, instantly died. After a beautifully done Remaster of the main trilogy is released, I do hope that they go their own way w/ a Halo 4, 5, etc. Bring back the Didact as he is an interesting enemy but don't kill him off after one game. Give him more time. Spend more time fleshing out Cortana's rampancy. Show more of what happened to the Arbiter after he went home. Make Locke and Tanaka more interesting Spartans as Vale and Buck were handled well( though Buck was hard to fumble tbh ). So much that could be done. Just..so much. Glad this team seems to truly love Halo. Here's hoping for the best!
My only concern is... a lot of their graphical and technical prowess came from their own internal "game company being a tech company" blam was designed in house, that water in halo 3 we all remember so fondly was developed in house. Thats not even talking anoit all the physics shenanigans. They managed to stay ahead of all others while also making a ground breaking ip and game.
Will that be possible with half the formula missing? While following in unreals footsteps rather than forging their own? I'm not sure.
I'll remain skeptically optimistic for now.

I love the visuals, I would like to have the environment be interactive in some areas, like Halo 3 brushing past leaves, etc, just to let it feel more sandboxy and have a sense of discovery. Like as a player wandering around and finding out what I can interact with and utilise that in combat potentially.
