Considering that at least the old leadership that was there from 343i's inception up to Halo Infinite's release, there's maybe hope yet. We'll have to wait and see.
As someone who has loved Halo since 2001 I really hope this new change can correct the damage that 343 has done. The new engine is gorgeous, yes, but I want a new game that gave me the feeling I had playing the original. I want to fall in love with the world again.
When you asked what they were making before, it seems that under the old leadership of 343, they were just trying to make popular games, which would lead to trend chasing. HALO 4 following some of Reach's aspects to being more like COD, 5 being branded as a more competitive shooter and Infinite being ftp live service. Now, with Halo Studios, it seems they are trying to say the focus is making a Halo game and not just whats popular in a Halo skin. Let the quality of the game make it popular
The problem with adopting a new engine for a old franchise is trying to replicate weird quirks of the old engine. There is alot you can lose by doing this.
When you say there is no game that feels like halo. Yeah that's because of the engine. Now you have to take a new engine that yes can make very different types of games and different feels. But try to replicate things that kinda happened by accident and could even be considered bugs in the past. Trying to replicate "mistakes" as they would be called today is not going to be easy.
Not necessarily true. Havok integrates well with UE, so the physics are the same, as for the other things like gravity, movement speed, those aren't even consistent across the halo games, but, easily replicatable regardless. Unless you mean glitches like super bounces which are largely gone from the game anyway.
@@Phyto-Dragon-nb6itThat’s something that really bothered me with Destiny 2. The first game felt very practical. You had functional looking guns, some of which had looks and styles lifted from real life weapons. many characters had grounded looking character designs, and the game was overall very life like in terms of art style in most areas. Then the second game just KILLED that
The recipe is easy: Badass super soldiers with one clear (not “broken”) hero, an immersive and complex universe lore (that’s okay to leave some to interpretation), horror, nerdy/techie sci-fi, not glitchy and complete, great mystical futuristic space story, good mechanics, fun and simple multiplayer, and oh yeah, an M rating. Gamers understand that using these “ingredients” to make a great game isn’t easy, but the problem most of us had was that not only did 343 ditch 50% of those ingredients, they butchered the process too. And to me, it sounds like Halo Studios understands that now. This seems focused and the fact that they called back on the original halo more than the last 3 games tells me they are picking up where Bungie left off.
Give us a battlefield/ horde style halo game. If you LOOSE too many sectors that turn into blight zones, you retreat to the Control Room and activate Halo for a tie
i'm holding my breathe until the next project drops 343 basically dragged the halo franchise through the dirt for 10+ years they almost had something with infinite but they fucked it up by not having actual employees with 70% of the workers on the game being contractors so when time came for new content there's was nobody available to work on the game which is why lone wolves lasted like 9 fucking months and forge still took like a fucking year to be added to the game.
They should release these tech demos under the name Halo: Foundry. Think like the Matrix Awakens demo. It would be a cool treat for the fans while waiting for future updates.
As someone who has been around since day one of CE, kindly remember; The most critical thing that needs to be captured in UR5 is the soft, rounded, bouncy physics that is thus far completely unique to the Blam! engine and its subsequent iterations. The feel of Blam!’s physics is hyper-specific and will by far be the hardest peak to summit for the engineering team. Notice that we didn’t get to see any character model movement. This is the part where we all hold our breath. Again.
Okay hear me out please! 🙏🏽 Game Mode Concept: 50v50vAI (Inspired by Halo 5 Warzone and Battlefield Conquest) • Teams: Two teams of 50 players each, plus an AI faction. • Objective: Capture and hold points similar to Battlefield’s Conquest mode, while battling both enemy players and AI forces. • AI Factor: The AI faction plays an active role, attacking both player teams. Both teams must balance fighting each other and the AI to maintain control. • Group-up Mechanic: If both teams are struggling against the AI, there’s an option for both player teams to temporarily ally for a final offensive against the AI. If no alliance is formed, the AI can win the match. • Final Offensive: If one team is dominating, the losing team can choose to ally with the AI for a last stand. In this scenario, the AI stops regular spawns and sends out two powerful tank enemies to support the final push. This creates a dynamic game mode where players need to manage enemy teams and AI, with shifting alliances and tactical opportunities. This gives us the best of both worlds like firefight and conquest had a baby!
I'm *very cautiously* optimistic with this. My and others fans' asses are still chapped from how much of a mishandled mess that Halo Infinite was. Restructured studio or not, they got to prove themselves to me and get their next couple of Halo games right on DAY ONE. No ands, ors, or buts.
I am more excited then ever. Cautiously optimistic, I just hate all the negativity from a couple of commenters in many videos. They will always exist, but they are still very annoying.
I read the article and ofc we’ll see but it seems like the dev team has the right focus and priorities. They mentioned focusing on what made halo a great game and listening to players in order to understand what the community wants and loved in older halo games. My hopium is most definitely rising and this reminds me of H3 ngl… the fact that they talk about studying and understanding the core fundamentals of original trilogy is a good sign but time will tell
What I want more than anything in the world is more story telling in the world of halo that we know and love. A perfect example would be ODSTs. While I get the lore from Halo 4 and Halo 5 have ultimately replaced them, I feel that this was a missed opportunity to add so much more depth and grounded lore that we see so much of in the books and the bungie games. I look forward to what this studio has in mind when developing Halo moving forward.
I hope they use Halo comics and Halo Reach art style for inspiration, particularly in terms of proportions. Narrow waist, wide shoulders, small head, large arms and long legs.
I want more of what they were doing with Halo infinite for Halo 7, I greatly enjoyed Infinite. But on unreal 5, hell yeah. As an OG CE fan a remake of that in between I'll definitely be hyped for
I’m somewhat exited about this new game because of how much the developers have suddenly changed and since that they are referencing the Bungie Halo Titles and *only* the Bungie Halo Titles. If this new experimental title confirms what the is going to be and it works *properly,* then this will put us as Halo Fans back on the old rails that we all haven’t seen in almost 12 years.
If they don't have a Halo something in 2025 i'll be sad. Next December will be 4 years since Halo Infinite released. Surely they can do a remake in 4 years.
Yes! At last, some positive Halo news. It's about time...I loved what I played of Infinite, but I was absolutely gutted when development of the campaign ended so abruptly. So much unfulfilled potential. 😥 It's time Halo fans get the games they've been waiting for and deserve.
The amount of Ai/Characters on the Screen 343 was able to achieve was an artifact in slipspace from bungie’s blam! Engine, no matter the tech you’re running with ai, animations, etc break after a fairly low cap by todays standard. 40 or so character’s max CE - 4, see infinites forge cap is similar.
I think they mention “projects” and not titles/games is that they plan to do things like a battle royale and different game modes to bring in the masses vs the classic campaign and multiplayer game releases. They admitted they were trying to complete a battle royale project but had to abandon it due to issues with slipspace engine
Unreal has some sort of new polygon system that allows you to create complex shapes while still using the same if not less computing power. But that’s about all I recall without looking it up.
Maybe something as a UNSC marine or UNSC Army soldier and set in the early stages of the Human Covenant war. Or a flood horror game where you play as a marine or ODST.
0:06 i like the way the game looks if it comes out this way, but master chief's movement seemed a little bit weird, but that was just a demo, so they'll probably improve it hopefully, other then that everything looks cool
@EthanRom well yeah, but there can be good animation. I was just pointing it out because it looked weird and since it was just a quick demo it would make sense
I think what theyre trying to say is a tech demo is more conceptual, possibilities and more of a pitch to sell to the players. However foundry is about them creating real assets that they could just plop a player into and play it like a normal halo game on the xbox. Im pretty sure tech demos dont account for the technical limitations of a console
As an exclusively Halo gamer, I wouldn’t say I’m hungry for more… I simply want the same amount of content as Halo 3 had. Co-op campaign on launch. 3 DLC multiplayer map packs over 3 years sounds fair and achievable. Unlockable armor/aesthetics from achievements sounds fair and programmable. Loads of weapons and vehicles seems doable since Halo 5 showcased this (can keep the fun/unbalanced stuff out of ranked). And for the love of community, pre and post game lobby chat!
Heres my issue. Graphics and gameplay was NEVER halo infinites problem if anything it was its biggest strength. They simply couldnt fulfil promises they made to players and couldnt get content ready fast enough, the average joe saw that and said okay peace ✌🏽 and the game died. They tried to bring it back time and time again but it only had small bumps of barely any popularity. Hopefully using this engine they can actually get content out the door fast. However i fear the damage has been done, i know for a fact i will not be buying the next halo game for the first couple weeks adleast.
I think to bring halo back to the forefront they would need to make the best halo game ever , the best forge , the best sandbox, (make every previous halo weapon and vehicle in UE5) and let the fans create their own experiences on top of what the devs create
Unreal should help them out a lot. I know i want a halo game with every vehicle and weapon from all the old halo games. And i want some closer from the story from the last few games. I know they arent the best but i really want closure
Remember when they released Infinite Engine trailer and we were so hyped...then they made the story and gameplay what it is and we were flaccid the entire time....
Only thing that matters is gameplay right now. And server stability. Deliver that with these amazing graphics and Halo will either dominate completely or stay top 10 indefinitly with good support.
Changing the Halo story is extremely risky, Halo 5 had decent combat but tried to revolutionize the story, they need to follow the old story that everyone loves
It’s about time. We’ve been forced to watch 343 demolish everything we love about Halo for far too long. The tech demo looks great in UE5 and it appears the new commanders have good intentions. Several games in development also sounds good. I like the direction they appear to be in. We’ll see if they can walk like they talk.
I think we definitely hitting towards a halo ce full remake, what would be good to do would be yes remake ce but add all the things that got cut like usable energy sword missing missions and fix the library give that some life, and I would love some missions where we could play as the Covenant capturing Captain keys or even a survival mission as Sergeant Johnson fighting off the hordes of floods and escaping, like there is so much that could be done and added to make it the same game but new and fun also add a spice of horror into it the flood needs to be more scary and darker, not sure how many people would agree with me on this definitely needed
As an older gamer who started with Pong, I'm going to hold my excitement until this announcement comes full circle. I've been hoodwinked way too many times with Halo.
So far studio change ,demo and multiple games confirmed but are not overworking the devs and dont have a confirmed deadline. So far for this new studio it's off to a good start
I don't want to get my hopes up but this is very exciting. I haven't been the biggest halo fan since Reach but I am really excited for this. I don't think they can make it feel like the old games though. If what they make is great then I'm excited for that but I feel that if we were to expect the new game to feel like the old games we would most likely be disappointed.
All I gotta say outside of all the expected customization, gametypes and features. As a proper fan service, this Halo better have playable elites, dual-wielding and split screen 4 player co-op. Feature complete day one.
IMO if you haven’t played at least half the halo games or watched any of the movies you shouldn’t even be in that studio. I just want a good Halo game like the old ones.
am I the only one who would kill for a red dead redemption style halo map? what I mean is there are TONS of side quests in the campaign, and it can affect gameplay elements for later in the game. like you start out with a set health, and you can earn points/xp to increase it. what I also mean is that the map is MASSIVE with sub levels that get unlocked the more gameplay you do, or you can unlock them yourself at the beginning of the game and add extreme traversal with views that would make you want to screenshot every square inch of what you are seeing. I guess what I'm saying is that I want to be overwhelmed by a halo game I know not everyone wants or likes this, but I would really like this, especially on a halo 1 remake are we getting a halo reformation before gta 6?!?!?!!?
Halo 1 in this style would be sick, but I have my concerns with remaking ALL OF IT. I want the story to stay true to the original, the sequels (2 & 3), and the prequel (Reach). What I mean by that is I still want this remake to start right where Reach left off, I want Johnson to still be his iconic self (a funny side character that miraculously survives all the shit that goes down), that tragic scene with keys and the flood, and I want that murderous Guilty Spark to return so that I can kill it again for killing Johnson... Whether it's level changes, campaign restructuring, or other visual changes, I don't care. I just want to be able to pop in, enjoy a newly refreshed experience, and be hit with nostalgia of my favorite moments from Halo 1 once more.
When you look at the chief of staff over at 343/Halo studios... Yeah, press x to doubt on things improving. It's gonna be the same thing again. Keep your hopes veeery low people.
In 7 years time. 75 percent of games will be built on unreal engine. They should form a story board of all the plot points and pick the major ones and go with it. You have blue team, you can make a 4 player co op. Theres 2 girls and 2 guys enough for inclusivity. You have the human covenant war to make games with.
You know at this point I really don't know what to expect from Halo, all I want is now to get surprised and nothing else.... Sure! the Tech Demo looks fantastic and I really want to see a Halo game made in Unreal... If Halo Studios really want to do something for fans then its got to be the "Show, don't tell" approach Surprise us fans and that's it!
I’m not worried about Halo Studio because so far it looks great. I’m more worried about Microsofts greedy ways and rushing the development of what Halo Studio is trying to put out for the future. And also I’m worried about certain toxic ideologies. I want more of a brotherhood feel to it like when we all first played halo ce unto 3 and reach as well. But that’s just me. But thank you for making this video! The hype is real!
i think in terms of them saying it's not a tech demo, it is not one for them. It is for us, but its a project for them. Like they said, a research project.

I haven't been more glad to have gone back to 360 since hali infinity and beyond
Halo DEI is going to be a mess...
WE WANT HALO 4 CORTANA
I have a feeling the only reason its on unreal 5 is so they can keep contract hiring devs
Cycle restart, you get hyped, then they stab you again. Don't fall for it a 4th time. If I'm wrong and its good then that's a great thing, but if I'm right then you have no else to blame but yourself.
Logic and reason right here.
Considering that at least the old leadership that was there from 343i's inception up to Halo Infinite's release, there's maybe hope yet. We'll have to wait and see.
That Steve Vai intro gives me chills every time.
Bro halo fans need to start being hopeful and start being realistic, it’s gonna be mid same way they’ve been for the past 10 years.
So nothing changed it's still 343 lol we are still doomed
Pleeeeeease just keep a military theme
I think it would be cool if they made games out of some of the good Halo novels and graphic novels.
i hope this will be good. i want the good ol halo back. hopefully this is it.
Halo's 25th Anniversary is not next year, it's 2026.
Imagine project foundry sets up a animated halo series/movie like halo legends that kicks off a new set of games
Game Mode Concept: 50v50vAI (Inspired by Halo 5 Warzone and Battlefield Conquest)
• Teams: Two teams of 50 players each, plus an AI faction.
@@Will057 Agreed. Give us more Halo.
They are creating a workflow for how they will build the next game. Like they said they are trying to change the recipe on how they make games.
I hope they use Halo comics and Halo Reach art style for inspiration, particularly in terms of proportions. Narrow waist, wide shoulders, small head, large arms and long legs.
Seeing Flood stuff already is a positive shock :)
Looks amazing! Im definitely down for it if it ends up being good. But there is no chance I’m pre ordering any halo game for the foreseeable future.
I want more of what they were doing with Halo infinite for Halo 7, I greatly enjoyed Infinite. But on unreal 5, hell yeah. As an OG CE fan a remake of that in between I'll definitely be hyped for
I think it isn’t a tech demo cause it’s not meant to show what’s possible, it’s showing actual asset building for future games
I just want PLAYABLE ELITES!!!
I want playable brutes
@ both but if there was one it would HAVE to be elites
If they don't have a Halo something in 2025 i'll be sad. Next December will be 4 years since Halo Infinite released. Surely they can do a remake in 4 years.
No need for a remake. We already have MCC
@@iseerashonal821 not the same.
Give us a complete product at launch.
It’s because it is hand animated, not motion capture
@EthanRom well yeah, but there can be good animation. I was just pointing it out because it looked weird and since it was just a quick demo it would make sense
I think a halo ce remake would be cool but it would be really cool operating out of alpha base and do the missions threw there
I think what theyre trying to say is a tech demo is more conceptual, possibilities and more of a pitch to sell to the players.
I hope Next game maintains an open world but with a more true to lore ring with various biomes and stuff.
This is not your engine..........but you are welcome to it
I just hope the gameplay/physics still feel like Halo.
Unreal should help them out a lot. I know i want a halo game with every vehicle and weapon from all the old halo games. And i want some closer from the story from the last few games. I know they arent the best but i really want closure
Hopefully 343 will just be remembered as a bad dream
Last thing 343 Industries did right was 'CHIEF'S ARMOR' in Infinite,
That should not be changed,
We need more action in that armor!
kinda makes me want to go back and replay the halo games. got me hyped
The head of the snake is the same, just the body thats changed.
I feel we will find ourselves in the same situation.
I loved Infinite's campaign more like that pls
But longer
As long as the new halo has everything infinite has right now at launch. I mean everything. Plus a long campaign with great story telling
Changing the Halo story is extremely risky, Halo 5 had decent combat but tried to revolutionize the story, they need to follow the old story that everyone loves
Or. Or, and hear me out on this, they need to make a new story that doesn't involve John. That or just quit touching halo.
I've tried so hard not to get hyped this but I can't help myself
I think we definitely hitting towards a halo ce full remake, what would be good to do would be yes remake ce but add all the things that got cut like usable energy sword missing missions and fix the library give that some life, and I would love some missions where we could play as the Covenant capturing Captain keys or even a survival mission as Sergeant Johnson fighting off the hordes of floods and escaping, like there is so much that could be done and added to make it the same game but new and fun also add a spice of horror into it the flood needs to be more scary and darker, not sure how many people would agree with me on this definitely needed
It doesn't matter what it is, thevpoint is,it's here and moving!
I love halo i just hope we get the old halo Elites, Jackals, Grunts and a return of Drones
I guess what I'm saying is that I want to be overwhelmed by a halo game
I know not everyone wants or likes this, but I would really like this, especially on a halo 1 remake
are we getting a halo reformation before gta 6?!?!?!!?
A new studio for halo yes finally halo can maybe be Revived 🎉🙏
If Halo Studios really want to do something for fans then its got to be the "Show, don't tell" approach
Surprise us fans and that's it!
