- Having received another letter from a disgruntled viewer, Jeremy Clarkson heads to Belfast to conduct a very 'thorough' road test of the Renault Twingo. Sadly, the test is more rough than it is thorough for former EastEnder Ross Kemp who inexplicably finds himself in the boot of the Renault! Clarkson is pretty lucky that the tunnel stunt worked, because he was slightly off on speed guess. 17.5 meters per second works out to be a little over 39 miles per hour.

As an owner of a 2011 twingo gordini 1.2, I must say it is a remarkable little car, it has been well past the top speed listed by Renault multiple times, it has drag raced all of my friend's cars and won, I have the cheapest insurance of all of my friends, the airbags almost work (vigorously tested), it picks up girls (vigorously te... OK a couple of times, hasn't let me down though), handbrake turns are good as long as you don't have new tyres, can seat 4 girls plus driver (it doesn't technically have a middle seat but she was 4'11) brakes are shockingly good (good enough to pull the shoulder of one of those girls), seats are comfy (6-8 hours before a girl starts complaining), rear wing is sturdy enough for someone to hang onto whilst riding a stake board. As you can see it does everything a teenager needs it to do, only thing I can fault is the stereo, but it's good enough.
As an owner of a 1993 twingo, I'd say that's pretty much on par

@@SimplyxturtleRblx In a smooth, curved, wet tunnel like that? Yea, it's gonna hop and skid. The hazards even came on detecting a crash, I don't think any animator at the time would put that must attention to detail in a shot like this.
Bij Dikh it’s animated, and it’s so obvious. if you don’t notice the game like graphics, you might notice that there are lights in the real tunel, but when he “does” the stunt, there aren’t.
It's a Renault, so it has likely broken down by now lol

Are you serious? Ofcourse yes! Top Gear is a wonderful advertising place, which people watch all over the world, and I'm pretty sure that Renault payed BBC for this episode quite a lot money.

Yes they would! this is still good advertisement for the Twingo. And if you look at 4:25 you can see is has already done 8890 miles so this has probably been a demo car.

totally doable, with a long downhill motorway and some modifocation , this is a good car, I did once in a rental twingo II in 160 kph, feels good

Geoffrey Top gear usually abuses cars. I can't call Top Gear a petrolhead show.
Mantas Jurksa Jeremy is a petrol-head, but not as a stupid petrol-head as Alex Kersten from Car Throttle.
Thorbjørn Madsen Jeremy? I can't call him a petrol-head, when he has broken so many cars, some of them were destroyed and overall he doesn't really show much feelings for cars. he is entertainer, but not a good petrol-head. Alex is much better petrol-head and entertainer for me. Alex isn't stupid, Alex likes cars. he may not always make the best decisions, but enthusiasm is felt everywhere. While Jeremy doesn't show much enthusiasm. He didn't made Top Gear good for me. I'm pretty much always was interested in their projects with trips, budget cars, sometimes fun bullshitting, but that's it. Alex is more of petrol-head in his shows. He has good projects, passion for cars, interesting video, high quality content. CT for me is better than Top Gear (either new one or the old one). I also watch other UA-camrs about cars. One of those is Norbe (favourite video is drifting in 318). Back to the topic, I don't really like Top Gear much and I would be more interested in reading car history book. Their comedy with the time to me became really cheesy, low-end, full of mocking rather being fun. Jeremy is like old class clown. I don't appreciate that and he isn't very fun. I had better class clowns irl. Call me boring or whatever, I still won't like Top Gear's humor. Mr. Bean had better comedy with cars. The thing is that there are lots of better things than Top Gear and it on petrol-head scale to me is really low. Not much love for cars and being unbiased. For example Fifth Gear for me is more interesting. I would really appreciate if you won't attack me for my interests, because it's purely subjective. The only semi-objective thing is that I don't think, that Jeremy is petrol-head.

+Supercar Kid Correction. You would have to be going 40 mph because the actual answer is 39.14639, so if you were going 39, your too slow so you have to go 40 to surpass the number

Twingo is incredible car, we made trip from Czech republic to Africa (Moroco - Zagora) and back without any big failure, it's over 10 000 Km. Twingo was eleven years old with no permanent service control. We had problems only with crapy rusty exhaust.
Classic. Own one of these, it's a riot. Far too old to make a fuss over cars or spend large sums on them like I used to! Simple, less is more, gets the job done and next to no cost. Thumbs up Renault.

At 2:44-2:50 he was in a tunnel with lights then when he went upside down the tunnel he was in had no lights than they suddenly re-appeared after and right after he went upside down the hazards went on because the car detected a crash.... LMAOOO BBC.. Besides that, loved this film.

I have a Twingo III (the successor of this model) and having only been licensed to drive 3 months now I'd go as far to say it's the perfect "sensible" first car...
It's SO maneuverable - you swing round corners and can fit in practically any parking space.

rudkacka audi are vw which are pure shits ! I tested Infiniti and Lexus cars, that's really luxurious cars. Driving a vw is like driving a heavy tank, reliability is deplorable, it's expensive with tonnes of options, no vw sign good time on the Ring, it's just cars for poor guys Who have no other way to exist. Still one of my favorites reviews they've ever done!
Although I have to say it's a rather quiet car which is good when driving inside the libraries. Normally the car engine sound would get you kicked out from the library but here you can drive around and no one will mind.
Me and 2 friends slept in twingo,it was epic
