- One of Destiny's most recognisable foundries from the Last City is unquestionably SUROS. Their weapons are made to evoke a single word. "Classical." With sleek edges, a mirror shine and a signature red and white colour scheme, these weapons have an iconic look and a reputation as some of the most dependable weapons a guardian can ask for. SUROS weapons are named after musical terminology, with names such as Cantata, Fortissimo, Staccato and Syncopation. By far their most recognisable design is the SUROS Regime, an exotic weapon of great rarity thanks to the prohibitively expensive cost of making each model.

The idea that Suros weapons are particularly rare makes me wonder if world loot drop chances have ever been skewed based on the lore of which weapons/ makes are more/ less common
Considering pretty much the only machine gun I get from world drops is the SUROS one, it's most likely not.

They haven't. Game balancing has never been reflected by the lore. Elsewise, no one would have suros regime

I remember when suros regime was considered the best weapon in D1
Well at that time it was amazing and so much fun to use.
Try it in pvp in D2 it’s actually fairly good and shreds pretty fast when I whack it on for fun (before anyone says anything I’m top 2% trials elo I’m not washed) but seriously use the spool up mode and aslong as you can hit heads it can compete
It still holds very well today
my first exotic back in d1 always gonna have a soft spot for it
@@gitupmechavvy2569 TTK gets pretty crazy when it's pre-spooled before engaging.
Plus after you melt dudes with it a few times, they start scrambling when they hear you pre-spool, they think you must know where they are even if you don't, and they think you're about to peek, even if you aren't.. which opens them up to your teammate who's flanking from another route lol
Ahh, the Suros Regime. My favorite AR to date. I’ve been attached to this thing from D1 all the way to now. Suros weapons are nice and all, but nothing beats the good ol’ Regime. Love these little Lore shorts Byf!
Just disregarde the catalyst for it... it makes peeling nails like a cake walk.
The adore my Regime, I was thrilled when I got it in 2 after having it 1. Still don't have the catalyst though! 😂

I feel like it was a lot stronger in D1 though. I miss the healing weapons, such as red death.

Same! First one that randomly dropped for me in D1 in some back-alley forgotten place in the Cosmodrome from a Hive Knight. That was extremely rare for D1, nobody who started in D2 understands how exotics were truly exotic and very rarely dropped and were incredibly difficult to grind.

When I logged in after missing 2 expansions it was still the first exotic I pulled from my vault
Would have been funny if when you said "incredibly rare" you panned to a vault page FULL of them.

I love that line so much, because it implies that some petty Gotham lowlife was less scared of the (very real) threat of the Batman beating the shit outta him and dangling him off a building, and more scared of the idea that the Big Blue Boyscout would just happen to be flying overhead and give him a stern talking-to, so much so that he's willing to carry 3 chunks of what is essentially space uranium, with him at all times.

It's cool, but how does "Regime" fit into that? Does their most popular weapon fail to follow the convention, or is there a musical term I'm unaware of?

I love when fictional companies name their products with a theme, reminds me of Armored Core 6, and how the companies name their components with themes, the Schneider company, a subsidiary company that focuses on making very aerodynamic AC parts, names their AC parts after names of birds in German; I.E. Nachtrieher and Lammerieger. And, how the Balam Corporation, a PMC that creates insect-like AC parts, names all of their weapons after famous Entomolists, I.E. Ashmead and Zimmerman
These weapons are some of my favorites only beaten out my omolons! Form and Function, staccato for example is a scout rifle and its punctuated fire rate emulates how you’re supposed to play staccato notes.
Bonus game fact: Triple Tap/Incandescent is Polaris Lance like
I personally dislike Omolon weapons (although, I'd still pick them up if they provide a better clean), but I gotta admit Omolon has one of the coolest frames in the game.

LOVE that you’re doing the foundries!! One of my favorite parts of world building! It’s nothing world moving or dynasty making. BUT, it’s just something makes the world that much more flavorful and crunchy. Plus! Their lore has inspired their designs and perks, which I cannot help but love!

I would love lore shorts for all of the weapons manufacturers in the City. Tex Mechanica, Hakke, Veist, Omolon, etc.
I just think that would be really neat.

Always loved that smooth sound each Suros weapon makes
Hakke sounds robust mechanical Military style
Omilon sounds wet and fluid like but very cool and smooth
Veist very fast and rapid or lightweight with a sharp sound
But Suros is smooth yet crisp always loved there scout rifles even there rocket launchers sound like the rocket is more gliding out of the tube rather than being forced or shot out
The Suros Regime was the first exotic weapon I ever got, way back in D1. I didn’t use it a huge amount then but Ive been loving it nowadays.
My first ever raid drop was the soros regime and then right after vex mythoclast I got so lucky that the devs made sure I never saw a galli drop until rise of iron when they practically gave it to you 😂

I got the suros regime my first time playing vault of glass. At the time i had no idea what it was but my lfg team was really excited for me. It ended up being my favorite weapon in d1 and that experience is what really got me hooked on destiny since then.

The first sought after weapon in Destiny, sweaty crucible denizens dream weapon.
Just seeing that gun took me back almost ten years now! Wow 😢 Time flies by, but that gun remains classically exotic ! Destiny saved me when I was in a dark place mentally! When I was playing the Beta, it was like medicine for my mind. lol It wasn't just the gameplay and lore but also the community 💯

I remember pulling the Suros Regime from a legendary engram in D1. Back then pulling an exotic from a legendary engram was pretty frickin’ rare. Never used any other weapon after that.

My first exotic ever in destiny, right after that I got the thorn bounty and then the invective. This was when you got something and freaked out about it bc its so damn rare. I miss it so much!

I remember back in the D1 days loving my Suros weapons because of how smooth they felt. Funnily enough, that is the very reason I don’t use them much anymore. As I got older I preferred the guns that feel like they’re making an impact when you fire them, while still looking sharp. But, I do still hold fond memories of those weapons.
I actually went "Woohoo!" when you mentioned the Suros Regime.
Regime and gjallahorn where the first two exotics I got back at launch of d1. Those two, bad ju ju, and vex mythoclast where design wise, always my favorites.
I remember back in Destiny 1 and back when Suros Regime was a highly sought after weapon, I join a PvP match and just as I join the match ended with my team losing. When it came to the rewards page, no one got anything, nothing at all and I, with 0 kills and 0 deaths, got Suros Regime. I got a lot of hate messages that day.

The Suros Regime. My first ever dropped exotic in D1. I still remember the nightfall and boss when it happened. I felt like a king in crucible until that damned AR nerf hit, then the AR's never felt quite right, and neither did my baby Regime :/
Destiny 2 2018-2020 was peak gaming then I don’t play anymore retired guardian est 2021 haven’t touched it haven’t watch a mtashed frostbolt even1999 rickkakakis or a datto since then as well but whenever a D2 reel pops up I love to watch it for the nostalgia

Staccato is a real pistol manufacturer in our time and they make incredibly precise machined pistols to exacting standards. They are by far the best mass manufacture pistol company in the world and shooting their guns is a joy, especially when you know how to shoot.
My first exotic was suros regime, i remember it as now, it was arms dealer strike and i got it. It was year 1 of destiny
I would say that suros makes me think "elegant" more than classical.
Suros regime was also my very first exotic I had drop in vanilla d1. Although I wouldn't waste my time pulling it out, it holds a specially place in my memory
