The cool thing about Ahsoka is that we have seen her throughout the timeline from a Padawan who is good but not great, and makes mistakes, and now we've seen her become this awesome force using badass.
Too many stories just want to say 'oh this character is amazing because they are amazing' but we've gotten to see this entire journey and becoming the amazing and it's PERFECT.
When the first 'clone wars' movie came out, I hated her character and her. I thought it greatly diminished true 2003 clone wars, which was a sentimental badass story, by introducing this new character that is just childish and doesnt introduce anything interesting at all. I only came around her character, when season 7 of clone wars came out and they managed to wrap up the whole story nicely and connect it to ep 3 in not canon-breaking way. Im still sad about them making Grevious being a wimp and a coward canon, as I still remember that overpowered 2003 version + lots of movie-material comics about jedi trying to take out grevious on rogue one like suicide missions, but hey. Mandalorian and now this? Im sold at this point. Still hoping for prequel spin-offs about Jango Fett story with Dooku and how he became clone material + taking out Grevious attempt 'rogue one' style movie in the prequels era.
That droid at the end is actually from the Younglings arc in Clone Wars. He is the droid who helps Jedi make their first lightsaber, and has been around long enough to where he even helped Yoda make his lightsaber. Nobody really knows how old he is. There's rumors around the Jedi Temple on Coruscant that he just... Showed up one day, in a big blue box.

Hes at least a thousand years, but do we know when or where his appearance in ahsoka takes place? Like can you tell from the background? Maybe it could be a flashback.

That droid wasn't in Rebels. He was in The Clone Wars and both he and Ahsoka knew each other then. This show is going to be amazing 🤩

That Droid is from the Clone wars it’s a couple hundred years old and has helped construct every Jedi’s lightsaber for those 2 centuries. It’s name is Huyang voiced by David Tennant aka the 10th Doctor from Doctor Who

I about crushed my phone in my hand when they both teased Thrawn AND mentioned Heir to the Empire. I love Thrawn but Heir got me into the SWEU and really into the lore, beyond happy they are bringing into live action

I'm so damn excited for this show! I started watching REBELS to learn more about the characters and it's fantastic so far. 😍 I can't really believe that we're getting this! I love Star Wars so much.
I think there was only one inquisitor in this trailer (based on their double bladed saber). My guess is that the other 2 are Dark Jedi. One is a survivor of Order 66, the other his apprentice. I think that's why their sabers are more orange shaded than red. Plus for Ahsoka, who is a former Jedi herself, Dark Jedi would be AMAZING antagonists.
Yes and Dark Jedi were invented by Timothy in Heir to the Empire so it would make sense since he is pulling from those books with Thrawn. He even consulted Timothy when he added Thrawn.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's thought of Omega in the bigger picture. I'm curious to see what role she plays in the future. I also hope they have a role for Ashley Eckstein in this. Even if it's in the background.
Bet Ashley will have a role of some sort in a future season of Ahsoka. In an old IG post, she'd taken care to specifically say that she wouldn't be on "Ahsoka season 1". To me, that suggested she's trying to tell the truth and be candid while not revealing future plans. ^_^ Exciting possibilities!

One thing I was curious about was where is Jacen? I would have to look at the new timeline they released, but he is born 0 BBY. The Ahsoka show is clearly taking place after she met Din and Grogu, and Din found Grogu in around 9 ABY. So, while it is hard to tell how time passes in a season of a show, he is at least 9 years old now. I can't really see Hera leaving him behind all the time. Sure, Grandpa Cham is probably kicking around to babysit (he is mentioned in liberation of Ryloth in 5 ABY), but Ezra wasn't much older than Jacen would be when he was doing all kinds of dangerous stuff. Would be cool to see Jacen as some kid capable beyond his years (piloting, navigating, repairs and maintenance) staying on the Ghost while Hera takes the Phantom II out for stuff.

As for the Ahsoka trailer it's just everything a Clone Wars and Rebels fan could want. I am hyped for this series. Also congrats to Dave on finally getting a movie. That man deserves everything
The two orange saber users are Dark Jedi. Baylan Skoll and his Padawan, Shin Hati. The one with the double-bladed red saber is the Eighth Brother. He survived Rebels Season 2.
Those main two darkside users(Baylan and Shin), confirmed have orange lightsabers. So rad.
The new villains are Baylon Skoll, played by Ray Stevenson, and his apprentice Shin Hati, played by Ivanna Sakhno. Notice she has a padawan braid? Word is Baylon was a Jedi who fled to the Unknown Regions when Order 66 was unleashed.
Unknown Regions/World Between Worlds about to be the biggesr star wars plot devices to fix some timeline funkiness haha.
@@Aussie27Legend I actually hope they go hardcore with it once or twice. For example, what if the only hope against Thrawn…is to pull pre-Vader Anakin into the current timeline? I want something that drastically alters what we currently know.

Ahsoka is going to be the best thing on Disney+ in 2023.
And the fact that its trailer is near 10 million views on the official Star Wars UA-cam channel and with more views than the final trailer for Indiana Jones 5 trailer is very telling of who people are most excited to see get the story continued for.
For me, its hard to get hopes up, even with a character like Ahsoka. The fact that the first two seasons of The Mandolorian were pretty good followed by a pretty hard downhill turn with Bobba Fett, Obi Wan and Mandolorian Season 3 don't give me too much hope. The visuals in the shows are regulary top quality(some noteable exceptions), its when it comes to character development, or in some cases character destruction, attention to detail, story writing and plots that I am kind of nervous.
@@jlawsl Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mando S3 being subpar were more the fault of Favreau, Rodriguez, and Lucasfilm rushing those three things into production, whereas Filoni took his time in making Ahsoka.

I think this series of series on Disney+ have really upped the entire story. Having Star Wars fans involved in the creative aspects of the show is key. Their passion shows through the incredible storytelling on screen. What a great time to be alive guys.

Every single thing in this trailer makes it look like a direct Rebels sequel. The only really new things in the trailer are those new orange lightsaber users. I can't wait though, this makes me even more excited for it.

Huyang has probably been around the jedi order even longer then Yoda its good that he's gonna have a ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE MYSELF moment that's so cool, also I might be wrong but in clone wars wasn't it physically like impossible to create a light Saber without him? All the red inquisitor red ones were stolen from the dead jedi not sure about kylos but if u were to create a new jedi order u would definitely need him

Again. You are the best. I try watching the other shows but there is so much cynicism and ego and just bullcrap among the others. They aspire to some grandiose idea of themselves. You see it in their posturing. You guys are the best because you watch it with an artistic eye. You honor the creatives and understand process. I am a professor and I teach this type of critical thinking. I can no longer deal with the abject ignorance and in some cases crudeness. You watch but it’s not about the work. It’s about how clever or crude they can be in their criticism. They will never advance. Thank you all for your mature and sensitive analysis. A few points of interest: We see a clear inspiration and homage to the original book series by Timothy Zahn, the so-called Thrawn trilogy from legends. In the trailer, Ahsoka even says the name of the first book, Heir of the Empire. Orange lightsabers are unprofessionally homemade, unstable, similar to Kylo Ren's. This is a reference to the Dark Forces Jedi Knight game series, where the dark Jedi cult had such swords. From this series, we could already see Dark Troopers used in The Mandalorian. Filoni is a big fan of Legends and uses the best of them in the canon. Dark Jedi - not inquisitors, there are speculations in the trailer that it will be Jorus C'Baoth and Mara Jade. We see Ezra for the first time on the hologram. Hera actor is the wife of Ewan McGregor :)
The dark Jedi antagonists in the series are named Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. They’re original characters working in league with Thrawn.

I love that we've seen at least 2 of Ahsoka's signature moves just in this trailer: the "draw a circle" with lightsabers and the "kick backwards" to give herself momentum, in the fight with the bearded man.

Plot twist: Our boy Thrawn is a good guy lol. Very good reaction love all these reactions to this trailer I am very excited for this series :).
Not COMPLETELY a plot twist. In the current Thrawn novels (post 2017), he’s much closer to being an anti-hero. He only joined up with the Empire (and subsequently rose through their ranks) because he needed a powerful ally that had proper resources to help him protect his own Chiss people. But then he becomes a bit torn between his loyalty to his own and his loyalty to the Empire. Though, first and foremost, his heart lies with the Chiss.
All in all, I’d KILL to see Filoni pull a 180 and later reveal that the REAL reason Thrawn is fighting so hard (for the Empire) is because he’s actually trying to amass power for the Chiss behind the scenes. Maybe after understanding how vulnerable Thrawn truly is in the conflict between the Gryssk (alien race) and his people, Ezra doesn’t just let him go, but also agrees to provide some support. The one caveat is that Thrawn takes Lothal off his radar. Permanently.

I appreciate Agustin commenting on the music because I’ve been *obsessed* with it & it feels like a lot of people haven’t noticed it as much. From the low baseline that kicks in as the red Lucasfilm logo flashes to the strings, and then the swell of music & voices as the trailer reaches its crescendo? Hot. Damn. So fucking stoked for this show!

Heir to the Empire. Thrawn is one of my favorite 2 or 3 villains of all time - any franchise.
It's great that Dave consulted Timothy when he added Thrawn. Shows respect and care even though it's not canon anymore. That trilogy was amazing.

When I saw the trailer I really felt like the first shots in the ruins look not very good and I'm a little worried, that it'll look like a cosplay convention because of so many main characters are aliens or look as colourful as Sabine. That being said, I'm so excited to watch that show! I love Ashoka like every other SW fan and I really loved Rebels, so I'm 100% in, even if my worries will be confirmed.
And I really hope to see Ashley Eckstein in some cameo (best case in a way TLOU show did it), because she deserves it so much!

"Dark Jedi" aka Anit-Heroes? I believe, their lightsabers are "Blood Orange" I think the color is called but not RED like Sith sabers are.
I think grogu should be taller than yoda maybe 4ft tall and be a mando jedi hybrid
