My heart breaks for you & your family. You are a boss lady following through with the commitment you made to this channel, your viewers & yourself. I honestly couldn’t have done what you did today. Here’s a virtual high five & hug. I’ve been gardening for (50+) years & I learned a few new tricks from you today. I thank you for your commitment, your knowledge & your time.
So sorry about the loss of your dog. You are real trooper though by carrying on with your filming and then going on to prepare for freezing rain. Life can filled up some days beyond our imaginations and we do make it through. Take care and thanks for the reminder about setting the dates for seed starting.
Sorry for your loss. Sometimes when I'm in the garden it gets overwhelming like you said. Choosing action is a great coping strategy. Your organization tips are very helpful, thank you.
I am so sorry about the loss of your dog xo Your emotional voice was hard to not feel.. On a lighter note I too love Johnny's for all the information they share. I have really found the seed starting calendar on Johnny's website helpful this year. I think I heard it first from Jill's channel. Big hug from Canada
So sorry for loss today. So hard to say goodbye to our four legged family members. Concerning your comment about selling flowers, you might consider cutting pictures of the flower out of seed catalogs along with a description about the flower to show folks. Celosia are so pretty, everyone would love them for sure!! One really good thing you said was write down what happens. My garden journal is one of best garden "tools"! Great video, thank you for time today. God's Blessing to you and your family.
I'm sorry for your loss. I think your really brave for showing your emotions on UA-cam. Thank you for making a video to teach us even though you are hurting. Praying for you and your family 🙏
I am a brand new subscriber, and this is only the second video I have seen of yours... But, I felt the need to come in the comment section and send you some love. I am so sorry for your loss
-Hey Mack. All your friends and family enjoyed the safety you provided. Now you can retire as family hero and finally get some of the rest you've earned. Thank you. -I have yarrow which doesn't grow thick in pots as much as slowly spreading in a bed under an inch of soil over a few years. Survives frost well. Pretty flower clusters and nice herb scent. Variety I have is about 3 ft tall. -Thanks for the diligence in sharing and continuing to post info. Taking your own advice....Just get out there and do it! Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words about Mac! Got me teary eyed. Good to know about the yarrow. I have heard that it does survive frost well and is pretty hardy which is always a winner in my book!
Watched this yesterday and then had to come back tonight and leave a comment bc I'm finding the organization of seeds and when to start them that you talk about very helpful. Between my older seeds and the ones I purchased this year, my seed collection is large. So I went through and pulled out what I would like to plant and organized them by when to start. They are rubber banded, labeled according to how many weeks out, or direct seed. Tomorrow I'm getting my calendar from the Dollar Tree/Dollar Twenty-Five Tree to finish out my timeline. Turns out I have way more seeds it's safe to direct sow here in 8a than I thought, plus I can stagger them which will help with my seed starting set-up. Since I'm a very visual person, your way is super helpful! Thank you!
I’m so sorry for your loss! Our dog is half Great Pyr. They are wonderful! Thanks so much for the tips. This will be my 2nd year to start from seed. Last year wasn’t a complete bust…but I’m hoping this year goes more smoothly!
So sorry for your loss...😭. It is always hard to loss a member of the fam. Yes animals are members too! This looks like a great method for me to try this yr. Thank you so much
Hey y'all, This is the first time seeing your channel. I'm so sorry for your loss. We are given stewardship of our animals by God. We are tasked with providing them love, food, safety and shelter as they may need while in our care. Yes we will lose some and it will hurt but we still have so many more and time does not stop so on we go. Blessings on your coming days. I love the seed starting I am in Minnesota nw nothin but ice and snow now here so all I have is herb garden inside now. I will be starting sweet potatoes in cups to grow slips, and onion seeds in trays on Feb 16th every year. Most all other seeds I will get started on March 17th St. Patrick's day every year. I am excited to catch up on your other videos. God bless take care bye for now
Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. I appreciate how you share your knowledge, experience, dreams and life. Thank you. Celosia: add a fun feature: create curiosity with a sign including information about it and pictures of how it looks in the beginning-budding- and full bloom. Like “specials” in restaurants.
Great video! We have a rainy day tomorrow, so I plan on getting all my seeds organized, finding my last frost date and making some plans! Thanks for the encouragement! You and Jill are the best!!
Sorry for the loss of your dog. They are family and are loved. When starting seeds this year I didn't realize what a difference heat mats would make lol ,now I have tomatoes that are in 4 inch pots!
Thank you for breaking everything down as to when and how to sow the seeds and when would be the time to actually plant them into our gardens. It will help me know when is the best time to start all of my different seeds. Last year was the first time I grew my own vegetable seeds and I just started them all at the same time, not even thinking that they are all different types of plants. Having you explain it the way to break it down and also using a calendar will help me a lot. I appreciate you taking the time to teach and explain it the way you did. We are keeping you in our prayers, so sorry to hear of the passing of your four legged fir baby. ❤️
Pretty cool. Last year was my first season and I threw a bunch of stuff in the ground way early and got super lucky. Had a huge first crop. It was awesome! This year I'm starting seed indoor and I'll use your method. Hoping for great weather!
So sorry to hear about the loss of your pup! They are a part of the family-no matter if they live in the house or are guardians. It's a loss-grieving is natural-take care.
I’m so sad for your family’s loss! Be at peace that you gave the best life while it lasted. How brave to put out a blog for others in a time of sadness. Thank you! Now please have a sweet treat, hot beverage and relax. 🙏🏻
I am so very sorry for this devastating loss. Our very first GP was so special and she was always getting out and sadly she got hit by a car and we lost her. I’m glad you continued on today and didn’t let your heartache stop you from getting on here. I found you through Jill at WhisperingWillow… and I am excited to see how you grow this year!
Thank you for the kind words! We have definitely been missing him like crazy. Mac was always getting out too. Unfortunately, all the hot wire in the world would not keep his stubborn self in the pasture.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your livestock guardian dog. It hits a little different when it’s a dog and not an animal you plan on for food. Praying for peace for your family’s hearts. Amazon wish list got figured out. It was not the operator. Lol it was Amazon not being able to connect the link but it’s fixed now. Let us know how the lettuce cutting knife works. I have not yet got harvesting tools so I’m interested in knowing how well it works or not. I’m excited to see your progress and the journey along the way. God bless you and your family😇
Your day is my worst nightmare as a dog mom. I am so so sorry. No words will make you feel better so I’m sending a giant cyber hug your way. Take care of you. Xo
I have started some of my pepper seeds now and have some germinated already indoors. I've got a purple Jalapeno taken and Bell, Ramiro & Jalapeno hybrids. Also got an Orange Bell to a Yellow Ramiro F1 seed germinated and some others. I have my latest video on what varieties I am growing this year.
Losing a beloved pet is so hard. I’m so sorry for your loss. A quick thought on the flower starts: Since some customers may not be familiar with celosia or cosmos, produce a 8 x10 colored picture of them to post with the starts. Celosia are so beautiful…I can’t imagine they would not sell well.
I grew Celosia and took to the market every week. It did great!! Lots of people around here knew exactly what it was. Just be sure to know what TYPE (shape) it is. :)
@@BerkeleyFarms oh okay I saw your Georgia charts I thought for sure you from Georgia. Georgia Championship yes. I know exactly where that is it's not very far from where I live. So you absolutely relate to the weather here in Georgia. I have family in Arkansas so I relate to your weather as well. Thank you for your kind words, Julie. I definitely wanted to just bum around today but staying busy helps keep my mind off of some of the sadness.

I’m sorry Lauren for the loss of your dog Mack. My heart hurts for you. Loss is never easy. I’m sure it’s hard for your boys too. 💔
Thanks, Becky. We had to tell them when they got home from school. They were understandably sad and confused but seem to be handling it well.
Can you continue this, telling us the plants and how many going for sale, please? ❤
