My dad was stationed in Japan in 1952. But he was in family housing and probably ate with my mom and sister for Christmas 1952. He lived in Nagoya and was a First Sergeant. But I, as a collector of military memorabilia, would have been thrilled to find that menu.
Very neat, Celia! Your parents may have known of that hotel. Fascinating stuff!
Looks like a fun place to treasure hunt...lots to see and appears to have decent prices! Amazing the stuff you found on those two little bookshelves! LOL...I driven right through Intercourse, PA when I go west to get my auction pickups, one of the towns over is named Blue Ball...not kidding 🤣🤣 hahaha...I can relate...it is hard to contain oneself sometimes. I'll find something and in my head I'm screaming OMG OMG. Fantastic finds and glad to hear there will be more content coming our way!
Thanks Sweedon! Sorry for taking so long to reply but I did read your comment earlier! So funny that you went through Intercourse! That sounds funny to say! Blue Ball! LOL that is crazy! Must be alot of frustrated people living in that town lol. Thanks for commenting!
Looks in great condition and JFK items sell great we have found
Books tend to be overlooked at estate sales. My most recent find was a first edition Booker T. Washington Autobiography, 1901 with a signed photo plate in the book. I got it with a group of other items for $5.
Yes! This is why I always go for the books. Great find!
That’s a beautiful Bible💖
Thanks!!!
Seems like the owner prices a lot of items off the top of his head. Great scores! 👽
Thanks man! Yeah, works for me for the most part lol
Great book selection and the Neurotic dog is a classic🐶🐾
Thanks VC! Yep, a classic lol
Some very unique finds and a couple of signature dbl-Ts 🙂
LOL, love those double taps!
Hey, Mr. Prime Time! Great finds! That Bible references was a great find. Lots of cool stuff! Good job!👍💜
Thanks Sharon!
I was fascinated by the menu. Both my parents were stationed and married in Tokyo from late 40s thru 1952. I had kinda forgotten about a trunk that has a lot of ephemera in it - I think it may be time to deal with it ( I'm almost 70 and there are no children to pass anything to - do you think it would be wrong for me to sell it and take myself on a nice trip?) Both parents are buried at Arlington National Cemetery - so I know I would donate some pertinent items to their museums.
Thank you for sharing the menu so well tho ! It tickles me to see it come from somewhere so close - I'm only about 20 minutes drive below Syracuse. Love to watch your treasure sale hunts the best!
Thanks Starr! I don't think it is wrong. It is really a personal choice and decision. If you are selling it to people who will appreciate it and preserve it, then that is a good thing. Much respect to your parents. Glad to inpsire you to go through that trunk!
Do it, so no one else does and go enjoy yourself..your parents would want you to. Travel while you still can.
I agree, you get the pleasure of dealing with everything yourself not strangers and spend the money, go to Japan maybe, a life long dream of mine, my father was there during the war, we are from Australia, and he passed on his love for the country and its people. Enjoy your inheritance, make it mean something special to you from your parents, very blessed.
Hi there loved your video Carol in England
Thanks Carol! Say hi to Dr Who for me!
Tapping brings you luck! Haha I can't see why you like going there!
LOL. Yes, one of my favorite annual places to source!
I love your merch I like the tops with " super daisy on " do you ship all over the world I live in Carlisle Cumbria England
Edgar Rice Burroughs!!!! I did not understand what you said about the Masters of the Universe Purple Cat. " The problem is there is lashing underneath" don't know what you are saying. Please clarify. I'm loving your videos. Just subscribed.
Thanks Sandi. The problem with the purple cat is that the velvet was coming off exposing the black underneath. Welcome to the Prime Time family!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Yes ok.
Was the Dr. Seuss controversy an actual "ban"? Or, did the publisher just cease publishing the books?
The company stopped publishing the books
jar jar binks is an awesome character he made starwars movie watchable, I'm not even a starwars fan
Sorry but most Star Wars fans HATED him and believe he destroyed the movie. Count me in as one of them.
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻
Wow! I've already watched this twice. Very very neat! By far, my favorite item was the beautiful Bible. I'm totally shocked it didn't sell at the original estate sale. I can just picture it open on a beautiful wooden stand in someone's library or home entry-way. As a child, the pictures in a Bible meant so much as the wording is so far over your head that it takes a picture to 'explain' things. It took me a few years before I could open my mother's Bible - I kind of wish I hadn't. It was full of newspaper clippings, little things she had written, a snippet of my grandmother's hair, partial verses underlined, etc. 😢 Best Tarzan? Johnny Weismuller!
Hey Lina! Glad you liked the vid! That Bible was a big hit! Nice to see how many people enjoyed seeing it and the memories it brought back for folks! Love that you know your Tarzan too!
My favorite was the Tarzan books I collect that type of books. Thanks for the video. I’ll catch you on the next one.
Thanks Gwenia. Those covers were great!
I’m not religious, but still am in awe of that Bible References tome!
Right, it was simply incredible. Thanks!
I was taken back to my childhood when I was shown my Great Hrandmothers family bible.
It had plaites of hair, pressed flowers, notes and ribbons all throughout the huge bible, abd every significant family event recorded.
Unfortunately it got scooped up by in-laws to our family and has never been seen since, but your find gave me goosebumps, as did the Japanese menu my Father was a sargent in WW2 stationed in the islands of Japan, so that menu I would have paid anything for it.
Also, the engravings on the leather are embossed with real gold. Also increases the value.🙂
Yes, good point
Season after season, Prime Time never disappoints. I am a long-term seller but I learn something from every video. Yu-Gi-Oh, Book Bundling, and old mugs from the Coffee Shop. Every Prime Time video increases my income and teaches me to be philosophical about what I've missed in the past. How does he know so much? Don't question it, just bathe in the genius.
Will….you just made my day! Thank you! Lol
Really cool items! Loved the Bible and the Mickey Poster ❤ and I got that Pope comic for my son.
So cool that you got the Pope comic! I recently listed the Mickey poster too!
Nice finds Dom! As soon as I saw the word "Menu" peeking out, I knew what it was. I sold similar last year from a WW2 ship Christmas Menu. Signed by quite a few men and a few Commanders etc... I sold it for 125. Canadian. I probably could have got more. It was going as a gift for a Father's Day gift. They were thrilled with the purchase.
What a coincidence! I love finding all sorts of vintage menus. Always a treat! Great sale btw. Congrats!
Just an FYI. Be on the lookout for the lithographs in the old bibles could be by Albrecht Durer. This makes them more valuable. 🙂
Ok thank you
Spent a lot of summers in the 80's running amuck on the Wildwood NJ boardwalk. Great memories.
Love Wildwood Crest. Been going there since I was a kid.
I live in Carlisle Cumbria England and we have a vintage book shop which is spreads over 5 floors you could spend days in the shop
OMG I am jealous! Say hi to Dr Who!
You could put together a 'Kennedy' collection of memorabilia? 🙂
You could but it’s just not worth it. I find Kennedy stuff in bulk all the time around here. Too much supply
Some really nice finds! The older illustrated Bible was my favorite.☺️
Thanks! My fave too!
New Subscriber here... Great videos!
Thanks and welcome to the primetime family
The bible was by far my favorite pick up. I wonder if it would be worth it to have it repaired?
Hi, thought the same or be worth having a go. Plenty of knowledgeable youtube videos and DIY supplies easy access.
I would leave that to the end buyer. Thanks for watching!
Im enjoying your videos. Perfectly Paced, thank u. I decided to comment when i seen the scantily clad lady Vegas Ashtray. I have one in same shape, material except it has no lady, & is from The COPACABANA 10E. 60th St. N.Y.C.!!!! I was floored to see it's value!!! At the time I luckily found it it's value was $100. Just checked again, it's at $50 (ebay) I found it for FREE. I'm from Detroit, Mi.. never been to NYC, anyone with 1st hand knowledge on this club? I'd be tickled to put a story to it.
Thanks so much! That’s a famous old NYC club. Barry Manilow did a great song about it. Here is more info: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copacabana_(nightclub)
Thanks for the content! What is your best piece of advice for someone who is just starting to dabble in reselling? Thank you!
Start by selling what you know best and expand outwards from there! Best of luck!
Dom, You're just a chick magnet, love the music you add in. 😂
LOL Mary! Thanks! The ladies play the music when they meet me lol
yeah, the pope JP comic you found is nice. Published back when popes focused on religion, rather than being social justice warriors.
I really love the Bible Reference book. My grandmother was a devout Methodist and was really into Reference books explaining more about the bible.
Thanks! Really a terrific Bible for sure!
Just joining you after watching you with Jocelyn and Andrew and Laurel.
Thank you and welcome, Susan! Be sure to subscribe
That was the best ever Dom - learn so much from watching what you pick. I was actually jumping in my seat at that vintage Bible. Spring is here, let’s the treasure hunting begin😀
Thanks Sharon! It sure was an exciting find! Glad you liked it too!
Awesome find. I would have reacted the same to the menu. It's a real thrill finding treasure like that and feeling the personal connection to history.
Yes 100%! Thanks!
The menu because I'm a former restaurant owner and the Bible.
✝️🙏✝️
Great choices!
Awesome content learn so much you are full of smarts lol And make me laugh!!! But always look forward to next video!!
Thanks Cassandra!!! I appreciate you! Next video will be lots of fun!
First time watching. Great video.
Thanks! Be sure to subscribe
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter done👍
Wow, what a great sale! Super good info on that menu. Great example of what someone else might pass by.
Good info on that Life magazine as an item someone might think is valuable but isn't really.
My favorite item, gotta be the Frankenstein Mug. I already checked your store for it. Didn't see it yet.
I love how excited you were at the end. Certainly can feel it. I hope 2023 is a big year for me as well, off to a great start!
The menu was during the Korean War. Soldiers in Korea went to Tokyo for R and R. This is a Korean War memorabilia item.
Yes indeed
Didn’t list it yet but certainly can. Thanks for watching and commenting! Glad you liked it!
You missed the perfect opportunity to say Frankenstein stein!!!
LOL Good point!
Favorite = Bible
Great info! Thank you!
Thanks LuAnn!
👍👍👍😍😍😍
I get excited whenever a new video is about to come out! great stuff! Hey, I just picked up a collection of D nD Gary Gygax books off your reco from a previous vid, thanks!
Oh wow! Love the Gygax stuff! Congrats!
That Bible and that menu-Wow! 🎉
Classic finds!
I just love all your knowledge on things .
Thanks Cheryl!
It's a toss up between the bible reference book and the menu. Both super great Finds. I am always impressed with the paper things you purchase and have knowledge on. Keep up The good treasure hunting And sharing of your knowledge.
Ever hear about the guy who couldnt read? Spent the night jn a WaREHOUSE
Left behind ST Voyage Home and dunked on Jaja Binks all in 5 minutes! You're breaking my heart my friend =] Great finds though!
Lol sorry! I have some great Star Trek items for the Wednesday comic show though…and Turok
You are very interesting to listen to
Thanks!
I Love finding religious items. The large bible…what a find!😍
I absolutely love that Bible
It is something to behold!
Dom I go there every year too. 😆
And Yes I got a few things this year.
I've seen you there before lol
Why move the items on a dirty floor? Seems like that would deteriorate the item more
Cool ash tray.
lol thanks
santa menu my fav,,
Thanks! Santa approves
Intercourse is a real tow. BlueBalls is nearby, and there is a third of the same ilk to make the trifecta. Amish Country. Get a map! 😂
I know lol. I said it's a real town in the video
As always great video!
Thanks DC!
Yes Dom no Whoo Hooing at sales. Kidding. My favorite thing was the Frankenstine Tankard. Also I love that you put the battle cat by its friends. Fun Video
Thanks Jesse! When I was a kid, I used to imagine these toys were alive in some way. Wait, I still think that lol
I can see why you run to the books first!
LOL exactly!
first commet
Intercourse, PA is in Lancaster County Amish country. The town's name has nothing to do with sexual activity. The cast iron mailbox is likely a souvenir, as they get lots of tourists there.
I’m sure they do and regardless of the origin the association is going to be made by most ppl and the town is going to play up on it with merchandising
Hi, Dom, watching the video for the 3rd time. Thank you so much for sharing your time and passion with us 🥰🥰 the comments below. Learning so much! 🏴🇬🇧👍🇺🇲
Thanks Lee! So glad you liked it that much! I’ll have another one posted soon!
👍🏻
That giant Bible is breathtaking ❤
I was blown away!
Love watching your videos because I learn and laugh so much😊Those were some real good pick ups, that bible was such an amazing find. Can't wait for more content.
Thanks T! Next video comes out Sunday!
Your tapping gives me anxiety! May have to unsubscribe if you keep it up.
Please unsubscribe then because that is never going away.
Doing gods work 😄
Indeed!
The Bible. What a find.
Thanks!
Love your videos and I've learned tons. Thank you .
Thanks Ann! Makes me happy to hear that!
Would like to know what towns you are picking in.
Syracuse area
Loved the old Bible...🥰
Thanks Carolyn!
That bible, whoa.
It was definitely amazing!
Why did you pass up the Schlitz beer sign. It looked to not be a repro??
What time point?
When you moved it aside to look at rather Wilely Coyote picture.🙂
Ba- vair- ia Not Ba var ia. Thank you
Ummm, no. You can say it both ways
The menu was fantastic!
Thanks Kathy!
Wow! We love watching you two! Your excitement is absolutely contagious!
Thanks Michelle! I love finding hidden treasures!!
Always a great video
Thanks Nova!
File complaint with Facebook marketplace and let him lose his place for free adds.
Huh?
That Betty Crocker cookbook on the top shelf is extremely rare and brings a good price.
no it’s not. I specialize in Betty Crocker books and that book is not worth much at all. In that condition and printing. Important to know that I don’t take you through every item I looked through and why I put it down.
Wow your estimates on some of the toys were pre-2020 prices. Battle cat in that condition with the peg between the two armor parts is 50-75 panther in that condition even with the velvet loss os closer to 40 then 25 if the armor strap is undamaged…. Rolling thunder complete with box sells for $550 and replacing the missing or broken parts would have set you back about $35
Ummm, no it's not Earl. All you have to go is check current ebay listings and you will see what I am talking about. I sell MOTU stuff all the time. Please do recent comp searches and searches of active listings before commenting.
Your right on battlecat last time I sold him was mid 2020 right before the economy tanked, and I got 65 which was the going rate at the time if he was in good condition with the tab.
panthor sold comps are 39-42 without velvet loss and 33-35 with velvet loss (ignoring the outlayers like the 3 with velvet loss that sold for 84 in February) with velvet loss the last 3 auctions he is selling for 30. (The two before that sold for 20 at action, so maybe it’s a sign that MotU is trending up again but the $20 ones also had damaged teeth) all but 2 of the ones that sold for $25 or under in the last 30 days have damage to the teeth or strap, reproduction strap, or horrendous pictures. Last month my partner sold a panthor with no flocking at all on one side and no saddle for $12 on Facebook.
Rolling thunder there are no complete comps with open box listed, one sold in last 90 days for 550. So if their inventory was correct and it only needed 6-8 parts it still could be a pick up. I most likely would have passed as well if it didn’t have the original packing cardboard though because it’s one of the vehicles that the shell is reall fragile and is bulky as hell to ship
@@earlgendron4893 yes but you cannot just look at sold comps. It’s absolutely critical to look at what is currently available on the marketplace. You have to assume on making the purchase the worst case scenario which is that it might not sell higher than what is currently available. Current listings at the time were 100% consistent with what I said in the video.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter that’s true from more of a micro standpoint from a macro standpoint the past six to eight months Walmart has had the MotU origins panthor on clearance for $10-$15 which had driven the price down of the vintage one. Only 5% of Walmarts have clearance of panther leftover now according to Brickseek, so the market is predictably leveling back out. It would have been a calculated risk a few months ago. I probably would have picked it up for $15. They were asking $20, in a yard sale environment I would have haggled for the $15 or tried to bundle it with rolling thunder for 175, instead of disregarding it outright. but you also know the dealer better being a yearly sale, so you might have more information on the seller factored into your thought process
@@earlgendron4893 all right. Thanks for sharing your perspective
