Watershed is, in my opinion, a great album. It was the last album before they went in their new direction without the growled vocals. It was like a bridge between their death metal years and their prog rock years. But as always, the song composition, the genius of the music was pure Opeth.
They still make fantastic music tho.. Can agree that i like the prog death era their best, but i love the prog rock years they have had as well! They don’t have an album that is close to weak!
This song is a total masterpiece, so glad you did it. That section from 8:20-9:20 is one of my favourite sections from the whole of Opeth's discography, never gets old! I suggest the instrumental song Stream of Consciousness by Dream Theater for next Saturday :)
Woo Prog Saturday! Great video! Yeah do some more! Here are some recommendations. If you did these already, I apologize. Opeth - Heir Apparent Beyond Creation - Algorithm Obscura - Diluvium
Wow! What an atmosphere. One of the nicest prog songs you reacted to imo. Some other prog masterpieces Dream theatre: Peruvian skies. Persefone: Inner fullness. Peter Frampton: Do you feel like we do? (Midnight special 1975). That's a piece of prog rock avant la lettre.
Lucky are the guys who went to the Royal Albert Park concert they did for the 20th Anniversary. 3 hours of Opeth...the whole "Blackwater Park" and then one masterpiece from each album...if it's already magical to watch on the DVD...being there it must have been surreal. Anyway, one of my favorite songs of all times, I don't really know why but it's just mesmerizing to me. Now you need to listen to "Heir Apparent" off the same album, another hellish masterpiece. One of their heaviest songs IMO
We all know why we're here. 7:48 Btw, I suggest Godhead's Lament, for me the best of their songs of them you haven't reacted to yet. (On the same album as The Moor)
I know you've already listened to Opeth's Deliverance, but i recall you watching a really crappy live version... it's a masterpiece and i think you need to give the studio version a listen... even if just on your own time. Best outro ever
I would like to thank my Patrons for supporting me: Matthew Richards Music , Christian Simon, Mikael Mäkitalo, Erik Revier, Matt Hansen, Marcin Hostynski, Trattwald, Shady_gamer, Bryan Kelly, Lorenzo Molino and Marianne Dijkshoorn.
Finally! I like Long Island Ice Tea (although I am terribly hungover right now :D) and I love this song! Only thing: I prefer my wine red insteaed of white ;) Great video as always mate, Cheers!
Way to go, Ruben! Opeth at it's best! Somewhere on the way a suggestion rose to my mind. Check out Frost*. Here's a brilliant instrumental, opening song of their first album Milliontown: Hyperventilate - ua-cam.com/video/Ol592sakmZU/v-deo.html Or another good song from the same album: Black Light Machine - ua-cam.com/video/peoj5mTwqjk/v-deo.html ...or a song from their latest album Falling Satellites: Heartstrings - ua-cam.com/video/gdbQLHlQP-8/v-deo.html Heartstring -video has a two minute long instruction in the beginning, which I recommend to skip over.
They made literally every genre of metal in their own unique way throughout 2 albums. This one is more doomy, but delivers some amazing hard hitting moments (all their songs do though).
When he says it is so funny when all hell breaks loose when you were expecting it - I kind of know what he means. I get that too, uncontrollable smiles, even laughter, but I would describe it as joyful rather than funny. 'Funny' feels disrespectful, although I totally get that he didn't mean it that way!!
please mr. ruben react to opeth burden full length studio version from the same album its the best song of the album, i m pretty sure you'll like that.
Opeth - Heir Apparent!!
Exactly!
Seconded!
So much yes

That is why they called it watershed I think.

I want this to play at my funeral, so everyone enjoys the beautiful music while crying and all of a sudden in their face
You have to do OPETH-MASTER'S APPRENTICES

I think it's time for some progressive black metal! Enslaved - Roots of the Mountain is an amazing track. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
an absolute pleasure experiencing this with you, brother. rock on
His vocals were never better than on this song too just amazing
Ruben I recommend listening to Rush Leave that thing Alone. It has many time changes and unique complexity.
Wow! What an atmosphere. One of the nicest prog songs you reacted to imo. Some other prog masterpieces
Dream theatre: Peruvian skies.

Peter Frampton: Do you feel like we do? (Midnight special 1975). That's a piece of prog rock avant la lettre.

Do Master's Apprentices!! Best build up song ever.
For me this is one of their best album because it has more of my favorite songs in the same album
For me watershed is number 1 by a mile
I know you've already listened to Opeth's Deliverance, but i recall you watching a really crappy live version... it's a masterpiece and i think you need to give the studio version a listen... even if just on your own time. Best outro ever
And Lotus Eater live at the Royal Albert!
This is definitely one of my favorite Opeth songs, as someone who owns every album (Including A Still Day Beneath the Sun)
11:34 the gates of hell opened and the evil of a trillion legions of demons was released upon the universe.
Indeed!
Meshuggah monday? 😊

SO DAMN AWESOME!
Yup... Opeth and wine is a perfect combination. I'm having some myself right now. The only thing that's better is Shylmagoghnar and wine ;)
Btw., I recommend "I Am The Abyss" for starters... ua-cam.com/video/mz-_sy4HiA4/v-deo.html
wow, had never heard of them before but listened to the song you linked, a truly breathtaking and deeply emotive piece of music, absolute masterpiece!
Really glad you like it \m/ Try the whole thing... they’ve recorded two albums so far and both of them are magnificent!
Opeth - In Mist She Was Standing (1995)
Finally!
I like Long Island Ice Tea (although I am terribly hungover right now :D) and I love this song! Only thing: I prefer my wine red insteaed of white ;) Great video as always mate, Cheers!
React to Tesseract or Skyharbor !
I like Long Island Iced tea! Although, they tend to kick my ass in a hurry. 😱
I fuckin love Long island iced tea hehe
hey ruben, if youre still doing opeth songs, you gotta try "the moor"!
Way to go, Ruben! Opeth at it's best! Somewhere on the way a suggestion rose to my mind. Check out Frost*.

Heartstrings - ua-cam.com/video/gdbQLHlQP-8/v-deo.html
Heartstring -video has a two minute long instruction in the beginning, which I recommend to skip over.
Opeth - Moon Above Sun Below
Tina S - For the Love of God cover! Intense!
Hell. Yeah. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
DIR EN GREY - Macabre live 2013 tabula rasa! masterpiece of prog! totally recommended to anyone who likes the proggresive music :)
Yes please
Long island ice tea's are good but deadly. Clothing comes off easy after a few of those for some.
I wouldn't bother covering any more Opeth as you've just done there best song!
The best album in existence...
Bizzare Flowers by Maudlin of the Well
They made literally every genre of metal in their own unique way throughout 2 albums. This one is more doomy, but delivers some amazing hard hitting moments (all their songs do though).
Yoo dude that's an awesome request. Also Kayo Dot's the manifold curiosity would be super cool too
Watershed = Masterpiece...
Immortal Flame - Grey Heaven Fall
Estrum - Abiosis
When he says it is so funny when all hell breaks loose when you were expecting it - I kind of know what he means. I get that too, uncontrollable smiles, even laughter, but I would describe it as joyful rather than funny. 'Funny' feels disrespectful, although I totally get that he didn't mean it that way!!
New sub.
Katatonia - My Twin
please mr. ruben react to opeth burden full length studio version from the same album its the best song of the album, i m pretty sure you'll like that.
My ex used to like Long Island ice teas. Like six shots of booze and you can’t even taste it. Too sweet for my liking though.
REACT TO MY SONGSSS
Great drink to get you drunk, but I'm not such a big fan!
Too bad that they changed their music so much. They use to do this style sooo well. Their new prog style is so not them .
All these metal reviews and no Five Finger Death Punch or Sepultura.......Hmm okay.
