I used to think I wanted a thin RTT until I tried 2. Like you were saying, probable change out that mattress (I did after the first weekend using both) and hope it will still close. Being so thin and changing out the mattress means don't even think about storing any bedding in it. I'll take the wind noise and drag of a softshell RTT with a 3" mattress and bedding installed.
It’s hard to find good review of this tent. With that said, you did a great review, I’m about to buy it off Amazon.

Can you order the lite with the crossbars on top? On the website i only see the San Hima Hotham Aluminum that has the cross bars

I hear ya. I managed to fit 2 comforters in there but not my pillows.
