Hi there, what a beauty. Those 70's and 80's 911 are my favorite car of all time. I am in the caribbean (Dominican Republic) and are rare to find here. I would probably end up buying you one of these beauties

Great job, been enjoying the channel! I'm a dental student and just wondering if I should keep this as my dream car or if it'll be out of reach by the time I graduate and actually have money. Has your 911 kept you happy or do you want something more powerful? I have a z4 right now which has been fun and I got it for really cheap

I love all 3 of my 911’s. 2 air cooled’s, which aren’t super fast but have TONS of character and soul. I also have a 2007 911 Turbo, which offers plenty of power.
I have owned many cars across many brands over the years but I can confidently say the Porsches are the most fun to own.
You’ll have to go shopping when it’s time but for what it’s worth, I find 911’s to tick all the boxes for me.
      Thanks for watching.

@@Rennthusiast Great video Wes! Joseph - I have to co-sign Wes' comment on the air-cooled. I've had 31 cars over the years... including a water cooled 911. Literally nothing comes close to the driving experience of an air-cooled 911... keep the dream alive!

Did you replace the 2994cc. SC stock engine with the Carrera 3200 cc unit ? Or did you possibly rebore and upgrade the original 2994cc engine ? Thanks for the upload !

We rebuilt the existing 3.0 motor and cylinders and pistons were used.

I looked at an 86. The trans gears 2-5 shifted. It went into 1st only at a complete stop but would grind and not go into 1st while moving. I didn't force it but assume syncros. Second running issue was a miss almost exactly at redline on the tach. Is that likely a tune issue or could timing chain be off or?

Such a shame US safety regulations mandate those huge rear rubber bumpers.

    • @Rennthusiast

Kristian Fjeldgaard I tend to agree but with that said, the impact bumper g body car lines have become iconic even with the front and rear bumper set up required by the regulations. Thanks for watching!

So guessing $30K for just the engine and maybe 280HP... :| Air-cooled price to power is a joke.

I used to own the whole 911 series 70/80es and let personal taste and passion aside,I guess these upgrades are a complete nonsense in all respects.Obviously it will turn into an exciting car for sure, and I feel deeply respectful of the tuner's know how and cheer to the accuracy of his job, albeit as a 911 enthusiast and user, I guess there's no value for money ratio in such a radical customization. To be mentioned that an SC3000 undergoing such a heavy hybridization has basically no market as a classic 911.
      Either way...to each his own.

@@INDIGOBLUE555 Resto-mods are kinda cool. I mean it's a pretty big investment and you end up making the shop rich that did all the work. Sadly most of these things end up at consignment showrooms later on. We have a big one down the street and it's filled with all kinds of resto-mods. In my opinion, it's better to rehab a specialty car model back to factory specs. It's more like an investment play and it will have legit value.

@@billymania11 Yes, that's my stand point as well.
Cars as such can be extremely exciting and have serious performance numbers, a true delight for a skilled driver but, imho, some basic balance should be there between expense and outcome. This concept to be considered at any rate, whatever your bank account 💰
