Okay, this video is gold, but can we talk about how your guest totally stole the show? 😂 If they were in every video, I'd be glued to this channel 24/7. Please make it happen!
Great vid!!! But I was laughing with the passenger was asked “what you think?” Driver referring to the wind deflector experiment and he’s like “look at that cloud” 🤣😂😅
This is the best video on these that I have seen. Great job! Was thinking about getting one of the glass ones that light up because they look cool as hell, but they attach to the top side panels with 3M tape?! Ya, hell no! Unfortunately, the ones like you have look a bit cheap looking. I would like to have seen it with the windows down too.
@@SaabUnleashed Not as effective, but still quite effective in terms of wind noise and air circulation- I often have the windows down on hot days. I have been using mine since 2005 and highly recommend them.
@@General_Crock Agreed, it definitely is effective and would be nice to include within the video. Up and down with the windows rolled down. Still does show how it helps though.
What if you need to transport people in the back? Is there any similar system to reduce wind turbulence? Thank you for your video, very clear, interesting and straight to the point 👍
I don't Liz, I'm afraid. The Saab original ones, like the one shown in the video, are not made any more, so you would need to find one second hand. But you can find generic deflectors that will do the same job on eBay
@@SaabUnleashed I am pretty sure that it is still in production. I bought it last month via Maptun parts. Genuine Saab part 32026001 . I ordered it after I saw your video.
Hi there. A random question. What is the wind like in the back seats for passengers. Obviously without the deflector. If you had two teenagers in the back would they be suffering at 50 or 60 miles an hour? Are there heaters for their feet? Thanks so much for your help. I need to assure the missus before I buy one.
I avoid highways but I've taken my 5 year old on the highway with him in the back a few times he loves it hahaha. Only for a short 1 or 2 exit trip though
So a wind deflector is ONLY making the hair stay in one place and no other benefits than that? What does it do to the overall wind noise in the car? If this is just a hair matter then a purchase is deemed to be a stupid decision as they are quite expensive
It's all about air turbulence in the car and in this video I was using our hair as a visual representation of this. It reduces the wind in the car, which makes them excellent in the cooler weather, because the atmosphere outside the car won't completely cancel out your heater whilst your roof is down. And yes, I do enjoy wearing a coat with the roof down with heated seats and heater on during the winter :) In the summer, I tend to have the deflector down because I actually enjoy the wind in my face
@@KSA4EVA GEEZUS 6' 8"? Well I've had the 93 a few months now and no worries at all for leg or head room. The car is so well designed I'm actually more comfortable sliding the seat forward.
Owning a Saab Aero convertible 93, I thought the point having a convertible is to drop the top including windows.....only half a demonstration. I feel cheated. 🤨
Absolutely worth it. I contemplated one for many years and finally purchased one. So glad i did.
Excellent demonstration mate. We'll done. Keep up the good work.
You have just convinced me to purchase one.

What they? Its one blond guy
They make a huge difference. Can hear your phone/music and hold a conversation with your passenger. Much better
Great video. I've been wondering about this for a while. The hair test is a very good demonstration!

Great video! Been considering one of these for a couple of years!
Just curious, why you didn't run it with the windows down? I assume that would also have an effect.
Wind blows around the side of the wind screen, so the deflector isn't as effective

@@General_Crock thats correct in my opinion: windows up helps also reducing the wind. But for a proper comparison they have to be up.

Didnt have rear window fully up on passenger side.

Im bald it doesn't matter
Me too. Had my soft top 93 a few years and I've never thought about needing anything like this....
🤣
The wind deflector is also benefit even the side window down
Love Jamie's poker face! He'd be a great Stoic wouldn't his eyes give so much away 😉
Thanks for the video, always wondered how those worked! Do you have a link for purchase? Thanks!

It's very windy and no, no heaters
I put the windows up.

why the window had a gap between? is that normal and can water go inside the car?
He has a problem on that window i think, look at the drivers side window, it isnt like that

100 percent yes I have one on my saab
Just ordered for my audi S5
Dude in blue apparently not very happy to do the video 😂
No one can fit in the back of these cars anyway so no loss there. Btw how tall are you? I'm 6'4" and found sitting in one a little small.
Yeah I'm only 5'10! Jamie is 6'0

Do it again but with a man or woman that was long hair! Like shoulder length or longer but no ponytail !!

I guess I'll have to do another windows down then :)

I'll only put the windows down too if it's really hot... Otherwise the wind at the side is a bit much and annoying
(so really they should make this fit window spaces too!)
