- DETROIT (WXYZ) - Pastor Marvin Winans' talks to 7 Action News about being carjacked Wednesday in Detroit. His SUV remains missing and so do the men who punched, kicked and robbed the famous gospel singer. The pastor known for the eulogy he gave at Whitney Houston's funeral was carjacked at a Detroit gas station.

@@jamalestewart3889 ..the 2 that was convicted with givens for robbing the pastor were sent to different prisons than givens...they were still locked up when givens got out ...givens got out a little early..his codefendants did not ...they were not in the same prison with givens....i watched the trial back when the robbery happened...the 2 men that died with givens are not the 2 that helped givens rob the pastor...the other 2 were still incarcerated when givens got out....they said in court that givens told them to help him rob & beat the pastor....they said it was givens idea...they were also much younger than givens..... those 2 were still alive in different prison when givens got killed in the bando with 2 completely different guys ...they givens codefendants may be dead today but they were still locked up when givens got out & was killed...hope this helps....

It happened in rural Zimbabwe. My relative and her friend got a lift from men who later tried to harm them. Was told they pointed a gun at them. My cousin who is a woman of prayer, started praying and calling to God. The driver stopped the car and the 2 women were left by the roadside unharmed.

I'm glad Pastor Winans is ok. I just wish DPD showed that much attention when 3 young punks beat him up,after THEY ran a stop sign and crashed into his car. When the cops finally showed up, they acted like we we were a bother to them.
