🤔🤔🤔🤔work for a company for 13 yrs, they are "family", but instead of paying you a wage that would afford you a car, they watch u walk??🤔🤔🤔🤔
Michael , i Thought The Same Thing ! Like Really Tho , Atleast Have A Heart And Help That Loyal Man Out ! He Deserves A Raise And More ....
Again, Folks love to ridicule. Detroit is a tuff town, and jobs and people have left by the thousands. He was very humble and stayed that way. God Bless You Mr Robertson. Keep being real.
He could afford a car... he live is Detroit!! Lowest rent anywhere, and has a good job,,,, something fishy here...
This is the type of story your parents would make up how they travelled to school
For real my Dad said he use to walk the mountain and it would rain. But really this story is inspiring in which we shouldn't make excuses.
His coworkers are "family" yet they couldn't offer him a carpool.... I wonder how many of those same "family" coworkers are holding out their hands for a hand out now that he has $300k from strangers's donations.
Implying all families operate that way. My family knew when I was homeless, and did not lift a finger to help.
Day Neith they thinking it I’m sure as they all ass🕳 ‘s for the ignorance turning a blind eye to him .
Title says 21 miles each way, first 5 seconds news anchor says 10 miles each way.
I know at first I said there's no way anyone has time to walk that far to work
They probably meant combined go and back.. but I was Like what no way 21 miles have to see this.. but still very impressive he deserve every bit
javan alibabaie yeah 10+10 equals 20 and an extra 1 for things like having to go out of his way for things
@@anthonysciabarrasi2611 do you know what Each way means? Title says 21 miles each way
His workplace is a "family" but they watched him walk 21 miles each day.
You guys realize they make less than he probably does since he's been there so long.
He never gave up. Not once in 13 years and he’s given a car. If that’s not dedication, I honestly don’t know what is.
Lol could by hundred dollar bike, take a bus, or get a job where he lives closer
I don’t get that either. Admire his dedication, but a simple secondhand bicycle would have shaved his commute five-fold. Cynicism aside, d’you think he had a plan?
I find it hard to believe he didn't at least invest in a bicycle
For real. That would save him like 2 hours of walking each day. He could find a used one for about $10-$20 in Detroit.
Doesn't matter anymore now that he could afford a lambo.
It's difficult to ride a bike in the winter when there is snow and black ice on the side walks and roads and when its windy out
Dam, nobody offered him a ride home or anything and he called them his family? Ok, moving foward...
No one is obligated to but he has a good heart that's why he calls them a family
My thoughts exactly. Like at least one of them could agree to pick him up at a point which is already enroute to their daily commute.
@Seth Organs even if that was a hundred percent true you still may celebrate as do millions with good intentions towards extending a hand out to those who need it. To do something charitable and go beyond your own self aggrandizement ONCE a year. The absolute LEAST thing you could do is not be an A hole on UA-cam on December 25th.
“Only if my parents could see me now” that made me cry😭.....
Same here.. My dad went to heaven 29 years ago and my mom and stepfather met up with him last year from a terrible car accident.. :''(
I have more respect for Mr Robertson than any of those politicians or entrepreneurs.
I hope James' story is a beginning of something good for Detroit.
Jason Wou get real. There’s no future in Detroit. It’s an absolute dump.
300k raised and they give him a cop car...lol fucking scumbags....at least a ford raptor or mustang jesus christ...fuck america
This quote was right.
“No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown friends will come and seek you.”
Do your work, as unto the Lord. He sees and also repays. Do not be sullen, depressed or make excuses. Just keep going. The Hidden comes into the light and is rewarded.

and you watched like 1 minute of him, i would also be caring and loving if i got a car for free like that
So he calls his co-workers his "family", but they won't even offer him a ride?
He should download sweatcoins and he'll be a millionaire.
Oh yes at 5 cents per sweatcoin forsure dude coulda cashed out 20k sweat coins for 1,000 and go buy a new whipp
Thank God there's still some good people in this world. May God bless you all for helping this man.
That's god damn dedication right there
i wish he had been able to purchase a bike during that time. maybe churches would have being able to get him one or give him a ride. but i'm so glad he has a car and a nice savings now. edit: i just now read he took a bus halfway and wouldn't have been able to take a bike on the bus.

The end of the news segment said the money went to his home and retirement
I don't think so since it was a gift. The money has already been taxed
The real story here is that he isn't paid enough to afford a car, the second story here is that the city does not have a robust enough public transit system to get this man to his work place.
Hes a mill opp or a mold maker. He's on $24+ an hour. Its a bollocks story. Hes just shite at managing money. The latter part of your comment fair enough.
@Yeshua is Lord. if hes a millrite that's what he gets and that's what he seems to be doing in the video.

Safe Dog Because she has empathy. For someone who is empathic to watch another person get emotional, makes the empathic person also emotional especially when it’s a story about someone who is seen as righteous and/or relatable . I got hella emotional too, especially because of how humble this man comes off and the fact that the community came together to make sure this man got something he deserved then to watch him get overwhelmed by happiness to the point of tears.
This is truly a heart felt story. Totally love this man.
He loves his job but the job wont give him the money to buy a car.
Przemyslaw Jaworowski I don’t understand why people are loyal to these companies when they really don’t care about their employees
@Joel Villarreal I'm not saying it's there probleme I'm just surprised he thinks so highly of his job and yet he hasn't gotten the income from his job or made any plan with them to get some kind of transportation so he can work easier.
You guys don’t really know anything about this particular situation, from what he earns to why he can’t afford a car when (presumably) no one else had a problem finding transportation (unless they’re all making super long commutes). We don’t know the manager, the bottom line, the overhead...
He and his fellow workers seem to like the situation, so I doubt it’s particularly unfair. I’m just glad some manufacturer is actually still open in Detroit when almost anywhere else in the country (or outside of it) would make better financial sense.

Him: i love it.

Still far, a bike or scooter would save lots of time
Ella Neruda oh ok. That makes more sense. I was like “21 miles to work and then 21 miles back home takes a long ass time!” I was skeptical but it is 21 miles round trip is still a lot but more doable

It's really disgusting that his job doesn't pay him enough to afford a car. His employers should be really fucking ashamed of themselves!
Or this just isint a very complicated job and he should move up to a better job
pootis in a jar Moving up at his age!? Being way over 50? He's lucky enough to have this job.
He has a new car now, so hopefully he will look for a new job. With his notoriety , he will get a better job ASAP.
Jason B yes, I wonder why he did not earn enough money to buy a car. He is amazing that he had such a love for his job and the perseverance to continue against all odds.
the pootis flue you sound either very young or very wealthy or maybe both..so, in case you haven't heard [which it sounds like you haven't], jobs a person can actually live on are scarce in america and anything he might find closer would not pay him enough to live on..he was barely able to live on the wages he was already making. so he could *not* afford to quit at the time. it might not be as bad as it is in spain and greece, for instance, but it's still a very dire situation for americans these days...one case in point: a large percentage of wal-mart's employees cannot afford to eat or feed their families without food credits assistance [formerly known as food stamps, but now state debit cards are used]. wal-mart has a practice [like many other corporations who hire, among the 'skilled' workers, also 'unskilled' workers] of giving people hours just shy of what they'd need to qualify for benefits because the corporation does not want to pay for those benefits. even though sam walton's family are super-billionaire$ *and one of the wealthiest families on the planet.*..only the top 2% and some of the supposed 'middle class' are thriving. but many in the middle class are *not* thriving..i actually had a neighbor and the family lost their home to the bank after the business he owned collapsed because his clients could not afford his services anymore - because they also were suffering financially. even people who would qualify for jobs because they had a specific kind of education have tons of competition because of the state of the economy. and they get turned down for jobs that pay less because they are 'overqualified.' because employers fear they'll quit if another, better job opens up for them..and of course, they would quit & *do* quit so they can actually afford to live a decent life. and contrary to popular, ignorant belief, in most cases, only adults who have children can qualify for cash welfare benefits. although in some states pregnant women qualify - and if an adult has a federal disability case pending [SSDI] some states have a temporary cash benefits program the person may qualify for..and all states have a state disability program [SDI]. the details of which, are too complicated to post here re: who gets to stay on it and who can get SDI only temporarily.
Thank you for all generous hearts who helped him.. May god bless you all

You must remember and what I see in lacks of comments on this story. It's not about the money or even the car. It's about commitment, tenacity and love for others. I would rather make minimum wage and work with the right people and company than ever work with people I do not like and a company that doesn't care about me. This man says it all in the beginning I am doing a job I love cause they are like family to me. This is the way all companies should run there businesses! People that make them there money should come first! Profit last.
I will admit I welled up with tears for this man , when Ford dealer just gave him the car , that was really nice , they didn't touch his donations , I can't say enough about how much I really love Ford , they are good people and put out a good product , also this showed there are still good caring people in our country
