- DETROIT (WXYZ) - Pastor Marvin Winans' visited 7 Action News Wednesday night and spoke to Carolyn Clifford about being carjacked Wednesday in Detroit. His SUV remains missing and so do the men who punched, kicked and robbed the famous gospel singer. The pastor known for the eulogy he gave at Whitney Houston's funeral was carjacked at a Detroit gas station.

It doesn't matter who it is. It's a shame that anyone would suffer such a crime about this. What I admire about him was that he didn't get to upset about. He gave them the Pastor Winans smile. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but he's given us a sound mind. He didn't even speak bad about them. The same man y'all see here, is the same man at Perfecting Church. How do I know? Because that's my bishop.

Bishop Marvin L. Winans Sr. Is such a beautiful man! Why would anyone do this to him? We are truly living in the last days! I'm glad Bishop is doing well & I want to lift up the young men that did this in prayer.

you forget he is a grammy winning song writer and artist. look up his catalog and see his works in the music industry. im sure his royalties from all his music covers him. people are still recording songs he wrote years ago. him being a pastor has nothing to do with the cost of those items.

People need to be careful of saying evil things about men of God. They are men but they are led by God. God has said in his word to touch not his anointed. I continually see people attacking preachers and not realizing that God hears that too. Police your heart and make sure your words are not just hate but have a basis in something substantial.
The problem is stop giving and to these men go to jail and get a job

Pastor Marvin Winans is one of my number favorite male preachers and singers out there. And I'm not just saying that, he really is. I wish with all my heart I was there when this went down b/c my 9mm would've gotten used on those thugs that day...
it's just not the man of God but anyone that get rob that they should have a conviction. Detroit have been ignoring it's crimes for decades. This incident happen to a celeb and it's eye opening. There is so much talent and purpose upon that place,that have allowed itself to be possessed.

i grew up in the carjack capitol of the world.( newark n.j. ) and usually a story on such an event i wouldnt .give two thoughts about.. but this one really if i must say ( pissed me off ) God please forgive the adversaries for they truly did not know the statue of such a Servent of yours they where attacking . and thank you pastor marvin for all the years of music , sermons, and inspiration you bestowed on me an millions of others .....
I love PASTOR MARVIN!!!...I pray for those who did it and may conviction strike their hearts. This truly happened for a reason. People must be praying for these people because they bought a CURSE upon their own lives for messing with this MAN of GOD. This situation is nothing to make light of.....God allowed this for a reason though.

UNLIKE so many others who have to have an entourage of bodyguards with them all the time, and this man should be able to walk anywhere he pleases. Cuz I know I do and I also got a sweet lil sidearm on me to. If I was there during that incident they would've got a nice sample of it too.

I'm glad he survivied the incident. These ppl just wanted some material items and money. They knew he was from DET and a Winans. How did they find these persons esp since it was said that the store had not any cameras? Citgo,just is not quality gas that most persons would put in a hoopty.

Stop with the "touch not my anointed" theology. What does the world know about touch not my anointed? Heres another one, WHAT DOES THE CHURCH KNOW ABOUT TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED? The real issue "has the ANOINTED" touched those young men? Has the ANOINTED shared the gospel with those young men and are the pastors just playing church? The real issue is how a city has been destroyed and left in ruins with no anointing on it to prosper. God help us...get RE-ANOINTED!!!

How he has touched the world with his writing and work he has done with Micheal Jackson and Quincy Jones, Andrae Crouch, ect.
