My first time watching you. I am Trini and always found making dhalpouri time consuming and messy even though I love it. Your technique of making the dhal balls prior to filling so brilliant and less cumbersome. Thank you my Guyanese sister. Teach me more.
I know what you mean I don't make them often because of the time and effort it takes to come out perfect. Thank you for stopping by hope to see you around more 😊 one love ❤
This has helped me so much.So easy.l swear dhal phuri roti is one of the hardest recipes in the world...it's like french pastry..but you make it so easy.Thank you again.l practice making a little every day...it's the technique. Thanks again ..l will master it thanks to you.l am 75 yrs old.
My husband is Guyanese and I’ve been making a lot of Guyanese recipes for a long time but I never tried this one before, because we had a Roit Shop nearby but unfortunately the owner passed away, so now I have to try to make it myself because my children love it and also my husband, and all of your recipes look so delicious sometimes I feel like I can smell it through the phone😋❤️ lol
Thank you!!!! I will be trying this I always ate this growing up at my aunts, family functions everywhere! Now Im out of state and no caribbeans spots near me going to try this time to learn! thank youuuuu bigg up Guyana 🇬🇾 Bless!
I am impressed you got 8 good sized rotis out of 2 cups of flour, most of the time from 2 cups, you get 4 rotis. Kudos, I also really like the idea of making the balls of split pea to fit the size of the loyah. I will use this method next time, i think this will work faster if you are making a lot of rotis. THANK you! 🙂
I love your method. I was always afraid of making dhal puri, but your way is simple and easy. Oh, I like how you added turmeric for colour and flavour.
I love this ,this gave me some good gray hairs.....I tried making it again for the 3rd time ....and I think this time it came out great this time thanks candy....I was so happy❤❤❤
I'm satisfy with you teaching us how to make Dhal Puri. It's one of my favourite food! I'm going to definitely try it. Much thanks and appreation for your lovely recipe.
This is a wonderful demonstration. I have been practicing how to prepare the dough. My second try was much better than my first try. One person said that a tiny bit of yeast helps it along.
I love your method!! Can’t wait to try this for my husband, who is from Guyana and loooooves his Dahl puri!! I like how you seasoned the peas while boiling.

Wow ,this looks like bholi in south India, where we use sweet stuffing like jaggery and coconut,,that tawa can be found in every household in south India ❤️❤️❤️amaze to see different sharing same taste
FANTASTIC!! Looks softer than all the Trini recipe’s I’ve seen. I think the butter in the dough is the key here. Also way less effort to make this one.
Delicious! My Guyanese mother used to state thst dahl puri, etc was food for poor folk. If you could not afford rice and lots of fresh meat then you would cook dahl puri to fill up. That was my grandfather's opinion. It was not until eating my cousin's food that I had dahl puri. I asked my mother to allow me to go learn how to cook dahlnpuri from our relatives but she said absolutely not. 😮😮😮😊
Thank you for the advice not to fry it too long otherwise the dhalpuri gonna gets hard. I got it 👍. GOD bless you and thanks for sharing. I tried today February 2022 and follow your advice and they came out very soft. My husband loved it ❤ Thank you. 🙏

Almost every island/country makes it differently but to me, the taste is pretty much the same. I was going to our Caribbean people make it differently but some jackass going to comment and say that our regional Guyananese brothers and sisters are from South America. Great recipe thanks for your time really appreciate it.
Appreciate you stopping by. Don't worry with negative ppl they get a kick out of thanking they know everything. Even though guyana is originally in South America our culture is caribbean. Geographically we are in South America but culturally we are caribbean that's why we are the only English speaking country in South America. We relate more to the west Indian culture than Latin culture.
