I've always been a fan of compilations. I have a number of early doo-wop compilations that have helped me discover rare singles. They're reasonably priced and include great music. Thanks, Brian.
Thanks for the great entry Mark. Also want to add my appreciation for your volunteer work with the Salvation Army, such a great organization. Fantastic array of comps. Right out of the gate you showed a great country comp. I like that you featured comps of artists from the 50s that don’t get shown enough in the VC. The backbone modern music. Love that Chess set. I have a Chess BOC set called Genesis. It’s just fantastic, grab one if you run across it. Happy holidays my friend. Hope to see some footage of you Christmas decorations. Your name goes in the hat! Cheers.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family, Jack! I hope to have my Christmas video up within the next week. It's a busy time of year for me, but I'm looking forward to sharing it with you. There are so many great Chess compilations to choose from. They have a roster filled with so many influential artists. Cheers
Hi mark , jack always promotes good causes on his channel and the volunteering you do for the Salvation Army is something to be proud of .. loads of great compilation nice shout out for Catherine s … best wishes over the Christmas holidays 👍🎄
Thank you for the shout-out! Someone in the VC told me because You Tube didn't send the notification. I ❤ compilation albums. I have several in my collection. It's great to see yours.
Like you I love comps, they cost me a lot of money as they get me interested in other groups. Some very nice comps. Nice variety of genres which again is what comps are all about.
Thanks, Ed. There were so many iconic nights and performances at the Apollo Theater. It would have been great if they had taped a lot of those performances, especially the early ones. James Brown shows were incredible.
There is nothing better than giving and donating time and resources. Having been on both the receiving and giving sides of life, I appreciate the value of people willing to give their time and share their bounties. These organizations that devote their time to serving humanity are so very important for those in need and those that want to give and I wish more people would appreciate that, but I know that I am preaching to a one-man choir. Great comps Mark, I really love seeing your comps because you seem to find the most intriguing ones. I really appreciate the blues comp you sent me a while back and I have become aware of a lot of great artists because of comps. Time-Life comps were always done so well. I have a 8 disc (CD) Folk comp put out by them and it is quite an amazing collection. Of course, I love that Sub Pop compilation, one of my favorite labels.
Thanks, Mike. It's crazy how many people are one or two paychecks away from poverty. It always feels good to give back, even if you don't have the resources. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Make the most of it! I have loads of blues comps. I learn of so many obscure singles from those, and I will find those singles someday. I hope you have a wonderful holiday! I'm going to send you another Christmas card, but unfortunately, the Canadian mail service is on strike. Please keep me in the know.
@@mad4vinyl802 Yes they are still trying to resolve the strike. They should be pretty busy when they finally get it resolved. Also, don't send it to my old address because we moved an hour north where there is always snow it seems. I'll let you know.
Love those Atco soul comps. That Orbison cover is so cool 😎 Came across a copy of Death, Glory and Retribution in one of our previous digs. That cover is crazy! Great comps, Mark.
Thanks, Steve. I remember you showing that record with that great cover. I can't get enough of soul and R&B compilations. I should have my review of Gabriel's album done soon. It's fantastic.
@ Gabriel arrives from London today! I’m going to spend some time with him here at the house spinning vinyl and hanging out. He’ll be so touched by your review! Many thanks 🙏🏽
Thanks, Jt. The Japanese Atlantic compilation series is excellent. I have a bunch of cool punk compilations. My favorites from Stax and Atlantic are still my favorites.
Nice records, Mark ! I'm not sure if I'll do a response for Jack's 3 years, and I'm postponing Edwin's Vinyl.Tag 2025 until January. I just got in from our record fair, not too busy. It's raining and snowing, which probably kept some folks away.
Wow, great entry. Fantastic information about ways to assist people. Good luck in the drawing!
Thanks, Randy. Hope you're well and have a great holiday.
What a nice thing to do! Lost Highway is a great label. Great variety of interesting compilations. Well done.
Thank you. Happy holidays.
Spectacular! Of all the people in the VC, I assumed that you would have a stellar collection of comps!

Thanks, Rob. Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy new year! Catherine has a great channel. Wouldn't it be great to see more ladies in the VC?
Thank you for the shout-out! Someone in the VC told me because You Tube didn't send the notification.

I don't have the time to comment on all of the channels I enjoy. I watch yours often and always enjoy your videos. Happy holidays.
@mad4vinyl802 I understand. Sometimes, I watch videos and don't know what to say. I just hit the like button. 👍

They cost me money, too, but I keep going back for more. I'm always on the lookout for those rare singles. 🎷
Well done, Mark! Some great comps there. I'll be getting my entry up shortly. We're on the same page with Apollo Saturday Night, of course! 😎🎶

@ perfect I remember the issue we had last time
Amazing how many people look over compilations. I probably have well over a 1,000
Of them
I'm in good company. I haven't logged mine into my Discogs site, but I probably have close to that amount. I love them.

My favorite comp is your Sub Pop , and Let's Have A Party ! Also.. Atlantic Blues Special, and Top 10 With A Bullet.. ( I think I have one ) ? 😊
