Always hoped someone would mod this, all the Royal Rumble characters and all the RAW characters into 1 game. Probably just can't happen but would be so cool.
I'm pretty sure there are 30 different characters between the 3 games and the different consoles they were on. You got 20 characters in this game. Plus Hogan, Flair, Duggan, and Papa Shango from Royal Rumble is 24. Diesel, Owen, Luna, Doink, and 123 Kid from Raw is 29. And Kwang from the 32x version of Raw is 30.
Yeah, a massive one of 20 wrestlers. Trouble is, they had two match options. You could have a single, or a single in a cage and that was it. What idiot made that decision whilst simultaneously having the Nasty Boys, Money Inc and The Headshrinkers in the game, I don't know. I also thought it was idiotic not having Perfect and Yokozuna's finishers not having a pin mechanic incorporated into them. That was a feature of WWF arcade games as far back as Wrestlefest in 1990, so there was no excuse for it not being here. Or a submission mechanic for the sharpshooter.
This video just appeared in my recommended feed randomly and I'm glad it did! I really wanted this game back in the day because of the cage match but did not own a Genesis nor Sega CD.

Awesome idea, but two problems. Animal sued the WWE, so they most likely won't do business with him again. Owen Hart will almost certainly NEVER be on any new WWE product. The best we can hope for is a new non WWE Legends game or Firepro Wrestling World :-)
@@jamesbyersmusic Thats why you get talented fans and do it anyway. Who said anything about taking this the official route? Rip the guys from every game and put them in one.
The game gear version of raw had those rules in the one fall matches. Bret's sharpshooter finished the opponent when no life energy was in the bar. Yokozuna's banzai drop had a count while he was still on his opponents chest and the guy could still kick out.
Ironically Raw had only one submission finisher (sharpshooter) lol while this and Royal Rumble had a good variety. It’s why I always used a brawl mode back then for all matches that had a submission wrestler, it made it a bit more realistic. Lack of auto pins for perfect plex and banzai drop sucked as well.

Wrestling movesets have come a long way since this game was released. Most of the finishers on this list are simple, and would be used as transitional moves in today's wrestling. The only finishers on this list that are still viable finishers are the Razor's Edge and Tombstone Piledriver.
There were multiple NES wrestling games that let you pin or submit your opponent with a finishing move, this was just a classic case of LJN being awful.
Man Sculptured Software were lazy as F#CK when developing WWF games. Rage in the Cage, Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Raw, Steel Cage Challenge, Superstars 2 were the same game just different roster of character's for most of them.
The wrestler animations and game graphics are a surprising boost over the Genesis versions of these games. Most Sega CD games were just lifted Genny games with enhanced audio.
I disagree; the graphics/animations for Rage In The Cage are largely lifted from the Genesis Royal Rumble, with the addition of the SNES' Royal Rumble's soundtrack (in slightly downgraded form) and SFX plus exclusive characters.
