When this first came out I had no idea about the super moves until the computer would randomly do them to me and I would lose then throw the controller then get in trouble
Wow, Taker got screwed on his mega move. After all the wacky crap I saw before, I was expecting him to be the Scorpion of this game and just drag the guy to hell. lol
@@powerful-knowledge77 no...its a running clothesline just as noted. I used to play this joint every day, you can see the difference in the animations. Takers clothesline does alotta damage & he can run over everybody in a Rumble type match too
Always picked Luger for the Royal Rumble. Kept spamming the swinging punch to quickly launch guys out of the ring, lol. Even the running forearm special was good for plowing down multiple guys if they were luckily all standing in your pathway.
I believe the reason Hogan wasn't in the SNES version was because he wasn't on the WWF roster at the time of the SNES release. The SNES came out before the Genesis version, Hogan came back in time for Wrestlemania 9 and then left at the King of the Ring in June of 93. If you notice Flair is in the SNES version and not on Genesis cause he was gone in Jan of 93 while Hogan returned in April of the same year.
I remember this game being responsible for a lot of broken controllers. Mash the buttons or lose especially in tournament mode where it just gets impossible in the last couple of matches
JeezaLou Yeah, you had to send away for a special VHS tape. They were super overpowered too, especially in the Royal Rumble, take out like 4 guys at once.
@@StrickenRecord Yeah, I think Owen's and probably Bam Bam's move could knock people out of the ring too (it may show it in the video, not rewatching it right now)
@@EGarrett01 I know from experience that being on the turnbuckle when Yoko hit the mat meant falling out of the ring.. it actually happened to me once when I was playing. XD Not sure on the other two.
This game was better than WCW Backstage assault lol. I used to play this, Royal Rumble, Super Wrestle Mania and Wrestle Mania: The Arcade Game for hours on the Genesis when I was a kid. Awesome wrestling games for their times.
I remember this game.loved it.but you forgot the glitch where Luna & doink could climb the turnbuckle, transform into the 123 kid & perform his mega move. First time the computer did it to me I was like wtf.lol
this must be sega genesis i played the Snes i really enjoyed this game back in the day i bought this 1995 for 55 dollars then. dang how times have changed! now it's probably woth a few bucks but i still love the game!!
This is such a great game! I played the crap out of this, back in the day. I'm not a huge fan of the mega moves now, but everything else is still standing the test of time.
@destinybro Kwang has Diesel's jackknife as his finisher, and Doink's "field goal kick" as his megamove. The only things that the developers got right with Kwang are the two pictures of him in the game and where he hails from ("The Orient"). His moveset / theme music is completely different from real life. Even his outfit (in game) bears little resemblance -- the mask is wrong, and Kwang is topless -- Juan Rivera has a big gut, so he always wrestled with his belly covered...here he has a 6pack!
I remember ordering a special video on vhs where each wrestler would tell you how to do the moves. I remember being the happiest kid in the world the day that video tape arrived by mail.
The most unrealistic thing about this game, isn't the fact that people can do multiple mid air flips or jump from turnbuckle to turnbuckle, it's the fact that Yokozuna could do fucking drop kicks.
I didn't know about the mega moves, though I do recall doing Owen's tornado punch, Luna's spinny thing and 123 Kid's Rope to Rope splash. Thing is, I thought that was their finisher at the time for some reason and didn't know about the others (except Owen's Sharp Shooter).
how did you do these moves on sega megadrive??? I pulled off 123 kids mega move once and thought wtf, must be glitch, I never done it by mistake again.
I actually had an old VHS tape where the wrestlers themselves told you how to do some basic moves, their finisher, and sometimes the Mega move (other times the host explained the move.) Sadly, two of the wrestlers had their parts placed on a different video tape for some reason.
@oswaldohernandez1241 Raw Strategies and Secrets The Video Guide. It was orderable from the back of the instruction book. It wasn't the best strategy guide, but besides the amusement of the wrestlers teaching simple wrestling maneuvers, you also got to watch wrestling clips: Razor Ramon winning Rick Martel's Championship belt, a clipped version of Bret Hart vs 1-2-3 Kid, and the entirety of a Lex Luther vs Bam Bam Bigelow match. But if you were a fan of Lex Luger, Bam Bam Bigelow or Owen Hart, then you had to locate and purchase Paul Bearer's Hits From the Crypt in order to get their parts of the video guide.. What a gyp.
How do you perform these moves? I haven't played the game for probably 6 or 7 years, but just recently dug out my 32x and started playing again. Thanks.

They’re listed in the manual if it’s the SEGA genesis version you’re playing. You can download or do a google search of the manual and see the last page where it lists the mega moves.

Does a lot of damage but looks like a regular move.
Doesn't even look like a special, let alone a mega move.
This is the Sega version of the game. SNES version, his clothesline launches people out of the ring
If they could have programmed it, his mega move should have been the dive to the outside.
Swear Shawn Michaels, Lex Luger, and Doink were so dangerous in Royal Rumble bc of their mega moves
BiggJern FACTS!!!!
And Owen Hart when you’re on the top rope trying to do a move
Yup...used to kick ass in the Rumble because of those moves lol
Always picked Luger for the Royal Rumble.

The crowd is more interactive in this game than they are in real life today smh
Especially today with the coronavirus
Because those animated wrestlers have more charisma than more of nowadays ones.
😂
Bret Hart with a 1080 flip??? LMAOOOOOOO
+Salistar Smythe Undertaker's Tombstone Was Weak As Hell Pfft Undertaker's Tombstone In Super Wrestlemania Was Better
+Jonathan Washington I see what you did there.
calamaty Yep
Salistar Smythe lmao
Did Bam Bam Bigelow just do the Psycho Crusher?
same thing I thought of.
Or was it the spear? Lol the game was weird. Probably had to do more with programming limitations.
It was a Shoulder Block

This game was awesome. I remember renting it from the local video store as a kid. The Razor's Edge was always my favorite.
these mega moves are just crazy

you never saw Owen randomly do his mega move as the CPU? Sometimes he would start it just after the bell.
Sometimes Luna would do hers, but there was always time to get up and avoid it because she spun for so long before landing
You forgot that you can do the 1-2-3 Kid's mega move as Luna Vachon. Luna briefly turns into the Kid when doing the move.
Ha! I knew I remembered that correctly!
Yoko, Bam Bam and Owen Hart's Mega Moves were BEAST in the Royal Rumble. You could drop pretty much everyone in the ring all at once.
On the other hand, Yoko and Owen's Mega Move also hurt them everytime you used it, which greatly brought down the usefulness.

I'd sell one of my kidneys if I ever saw Scott Hall do a standing quadruple backflip.
Actually Bam Bam Bigelow and Doink can also do 1-2-3 kid's turnbuckle to turnbuckle move, same input. On Snes anyways.
Memories man...
I wish somebody would make a video of that because I can’t find it anywhere
@destinybro I don't know if he has a mega move but his finisher is a spinning heel kick done the same way as luger's running forearm
I never could do those moves when I was a kid. No internet back then to find out how. Lol
TheGoku1984 it was in the manual that was provided! Lol.

that 123 kid mega move

@destinybro Kwang uses Diesel's powerbomb for his finisher and Doink's field goal kick for his mega move, I think.
Undertakers Mega Move should have been like a huge chokeslam not a stupid clothesline lol

@gametosave - I played as Kwang but he didn't have a defined finisher or Mega Move that I know of.
They put Kwang instead of Savio?
Luna also could do 123 Kid's secret move too.
