Prayer request: my wife is sharp and has more degrees than a thermometer. But you all know what goes along with that. Please pray for her, for us, and that when God’s time is right, that she sees the truth and accepts Jesus as her savior.
I totally understand my friend. We will be praying for your wife.
Please pray with me for Julian Assange. He sacrificed himself for all of us and so very few appreciate him.
Sure is curious how he’s been forgotten. We will definitely pray for him.
I normally don't do prayer requests but if you could pray for my family, that would be greatly appreciated. Husband just recently lost his job. It wasn't a very good place for him to work so we're both grateful that he's been given the opportunity to find something better. I would like for the strength to trust God's path for our family and not to be afraid. The economy is getting so unpredictable and sometimes we both get afraid and I want to remember to have faith instead of being afraid. So just a prayer to remember to have faith and not let fear rule over us. Thank you. God bless.
We will definitely be praying for you and your husband Frances!
That was a good laugh this morning. “If you don’t like hummingbirds…you might be a communist”. Hahahaaaa! That’s great Billy.
Just keeping it real, my friend!
My father who is a avid hummingbird guy, really liked that and laughed hard
Been praying daily for you'all and your subscribers. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Thank you so much, Arden!
My permaculture teacher said it thus "If you need to take off your PJs to get something from the garden for breakfast, your Zone 1 edge is too far away."
I have definitely done it, but I did hope my neighbor wasn't out working.
I’m in total agreement with that!
I pray for my adult daughter to come back to our Savior Jesus Christ, Jehovah our father, and make her a creator. She is straight very badly off the tracks. Thank you.❤
Definitely be praying for your daughter!
I have a prayer request for some close friends, they have 3 children going through major health problems. Just a prayer for dtrength, comfort and healing for them. God Bless.
You got it, my friend!
@@PermaPasturesFarm21 thank you Billy!
Billie, Michelle. Thanks for your videos. Your comfrey is now helping to feed my chickens. One of the most impactful videos of yours I watched is the one to get free food from grocery stores and restaurants. I get produce, 5 gallon buckets and more for free. Then the video of the free soil you get. You are terrific with ideas on how to start up without dishing out a lot of cash. Thank you both.
You are so welcome!
The hummingbirds love scarlet runner beans. They will climb up the posts. Lemon grass is a beautiful ornamental, edible and medicinal.
You might have some out there for them!
Yes, I have herbs , flowers and srawberies on my deck! Great video! Thanks Billy and Michelle! Blessings!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for your prayers. I had a financial blessing just in time. All glory to God. I’m holding you up In prayer as well.
Thank you so much!
I grew okra just for the beautiful flowers....and ended up loving the fruit. I planted vegies (tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, basil) in my flowerbeds, and noticed they were happier and the pests didn't find them; yup! food forest communal planting worked well. All my hanging floral pots have fruits and vegies intermixed....they are having a PARTY!
Love okra. Of course deep fried! 😋
No, that sounds like a awesome plan, Kathleen!
In my opinion, the two most importan 10:01 t zones are the one between your ears 🧠 and the one between your shoulders.❤ With the fallen state of the world we live in these days I feel it's more important than ever to surround yourself with LIFE.... GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY BROTHER 🙏 Howdy from Texas 🤠
Might try adding Purslane to your garden. It's an "invasive" super food, with some varieties having beautiful flowers.
I’m pretty sure we have some out there.
We started our zone .5 before we started our garden! Now we're using it for propagating & growing herbs for dehydrating. 💚💚💚
That’s what I’m talking about Tanya!
You’re looking mighty lean, Billy! 👍🏼
I might be a little too lean these days. I need some muscle!
Sorry I hadn't been around in a while I really have missed y'all though. Good to hear your voice and know that you are doing well and that you have so many people praying for you.
Thank you very much, my friend!
Man, all I have is some chives and daylilies right out front. Thanks Billy and Michelle for another great idea!
Smart! I have pots and grow bags for my herbs this year so zone 1.
Perfect!
I’m am praying for a 3rd great awakening, that we humble ourselves 2 chronicles 7:14. Pray for the persecuted church in America and around the world. Praying for the safety of our our forces that are already fighting WWlll. The January 6 political prisoners. The protection of our political candidates.Peaceful , fair and free elections. God bless you and yours shalom!
We truly need that third great awakening!
Value right at the door.
How is your homesteading pastor doing? Sarah and I have been praying for him.
Thank you so much for the prayers my friend! He is truly having a tough time right now to be honest
@@PermaPasturesFarm21 Then let's keep praying for him and his wife.
You could do potatoes in 5 gallon buckets. With handle easy ti move!
Yes, indeed!
Great idea Michelle, gonna do porch herb/flower/slip pot tomorrow. Gracias perm buddies. Followed yall from Memphis since git go.
Dad's in the hospital right now, and the family's in a whole lot of turmoil as you might expect. Any prayers for his full recovery would be very much appreciated!
As for the porch garden.... .yes! I recommend this all the time as the perfect "You Can Do It!" move. With just a few planters, you can grow Tomatoes, Garlic, and Onion. And while that might not seem like much, it's a great First Step because it's a Double Whammy!
Not only does it give you the opportunity to learn the plants and processes of growing food in your circumstances, but you double up on that by then having the opportunity to mix up those Big 3 veggies to make your own Spaghetti Sauce.
Even if you only grow enough to can a single can of your own spaghetti sauce, the learning is occurring!
The fresh fruits and vegetables are great, but we can't forget the next step of preparedness - preserving the harvest. Canning and Pickling are just as vital as the growing phase because that's what allows us to make the most of what we grow. If all you can do is can one jar of homemade spaghetti sauce, that's a tremendous victory and you can't ask for a better introduction into the wonders of self-sufficiency.
i've made every mistake in the books, and this current unpleasantness will likely mean huge changes to my life. The smithy will be closed. The forge will go cold. Tools and materials will be passed on to others. That's the price to pay for the decisions made. I say that to remind folks that the decisions you make today will ripple out into the days ahead. The decisions you made years ago are right now being felt by you even if you don't realize it. So don't hesitate to make the changes you can to better things around you. There's no promise of tomorrow, and all it takes is one thing to really throw your world into chaos.
I don't know where I'll end up in the weeks ahead, but I do know that this current unpleasantness is the direct result of decisions I made in days past. And I know that no matter how things turn out, being able to grow even a little bit of food for myself is something that gives me an anchor in this storm-tossed sea of life.
We will definitely be praying for your dad!
@@PermaPasturesFarm21 Thank you.
Absolutely love the herb boxes! Edible landscapes have always been beautiful to me
I love the way you roll my friend!
Your porch looks beautiful! Good looking estate. Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much!
We put up outdoor Stations of the Cross around the interior of the farm. We name zones by which Station is closest to the area in use; works pretty good.
That sounds like a pretty good idea!
I feel the same way. The more I learn the more I see there is to learn
There definitely appears to be no bottom.
Billy…you are such a good Man,love when you get to talk with Pastor Bear too
Thank you so much, John!
My Drill sergeant once said that about birds
I love stevia. I planted it in the strawberry bed and it has overwintered successfully. Not to mention that it tastes great with the strawberries.
Well, that seems like a really clever combination, my friend!
Y'all are awesome! Continued prayers for you both!
Thank you very much, my friend
I love your porch! We moved to some acreage from the big city last year. We upgraded in lots of areas, but the house wasn't one of them😅. I have been trying to get our butterfly garden going, and I know it will be better next year, but I already have a pair of hummingbirds. I have been so excited to watch them in the garden especially and at the feeder nearby.
That is so awesome!
Pretty clever! I grow alotta my hers in my greenstalk planters right outside my door
That's awesome!
Heyo Billy. Prayer request: land hunt. In the location and community the father has reserved for us. And that we have a uncomplicated uneventful remainder of pregnancy term, and home birth in a few months.
I used to put up hanging baskets and then flowerpots under them so that when I watered the hanging baskets the flowerpots got watered at the same time from the drip. Do the same with whatever you put out.
Now that sounds like a pretty awesome strategy!
I once read that somepeople have been able 2 have bee hives on there apartment balconies!
Now that would be awesome!
I have been thinking that the flowers in window boxes are great because they repel mosquitoes.
That sounds like a fantastic strategy!
Your property is gorgeous. 🤗
It truly is beautiful out here! Thank you so much.
Great information, thank you for sharing. I've been watching you 2 for a long time and your always giving so much information to us. Thank you both.
Thank you so much, my friend!
Square foot gardening ona balcony would be prime. I use buckets too. I also use my 1 acre though. But i love my wicking buckets and "15" gallon bags which are actually about 13 gallon.
That’s what I’m talking about!
Prayer request for Alex, newly sober, and her husband who is having part of his colon removed. And me - that I may feel and express Jesus Christ
We will most certainly get it done!
Ideas galore!!!
Thank you very much, my friend!
I have been looking at all of that porch real estate, and wondering why it isnt covered with pots or containers filled with culinary herbs and stuff growing up trellises !!!
I had wrongly assumed that your facing wasnt good or there was some other reason you hadnt planted it
So much of that space has to be used for firewood, but we pulled everything away to be able to shoot the video without tripping over everything.
Great stuff man! I don’t have any railings in my porch right now, but I’m thinking when I’m working on infrastructure this winter I might add some to do something just like this.
That’s what I’m talking about!
Seed starting on the deck and a fabric pot of tomatoes as well. Deck might be 0.75, and a greenstalk planter on the driveway. You can't plant IN concrete, but you can plant ON it 😊 Not a commie, three feeders right outside the kitchen window. Those are tiny battering rams and very territorial, but so beautiful to see.
Great idea, Amy!
You guys are amazing! Blessings to you! Gina
Thank you! You too Gina!
6:40 🤣🤣
Hello, I have a prayer request. I need a mentor and finances to grow my business and start my permaculture farm. Also, healing for my family. Thank you ❤
It will be our honor to pray for you, my friend!
Your energy is contagious! How old are you now?
Almost 54!
@@PermaPasturesFarm21 keep on rocking brother!
Love you, brother!!!
Love you back, my friend
I have a farmacy on my .5 🌿
Now that’s an awesome way to look at it!
where did you get the porch pots?
Home depot offers over railing window boxes. Even $ store may have them.
Squirrels can destroy the deck railing pots!
I think it was at Lowe’s.
🇺🇸
You doing horse radish with taters primarily for pest deterrent?
Not only that, but Michelle absolutely loves horseradish
❤AMEN
Thank you so much!
Do you have any tips to get rid of cheat grass and fox tails? I really don’t want to use chemicals
I don’t really have much experience with those my friend.
@@PermaPasturesFarm21 thank you for the quick response. I just got 5 acres in Washington and have been following you for a while so hoping I can start your process on here. I can’t wait but this cheat grass is everywhere :(
I genuinely laughed out loud at if you don't like hummingbirds you're probably a communist.
I also keep pot herbs right outside the front door because the actual garden is further back in the property.
The hummingbirds thank you, Lisa!
"You're probably a communist" - hahaha
