From OKC my friend! I absolutely love your ideas of teaching the people of our communities how to homestead. Your vision is amazing! I’m rooting for you buddy!
Congratulations, William and great job. You certainly got a lot done in one day. The Lord has surely blessed you with skills and common sense. Keep up the wonderful videos.
That's awesome! I recently volunteered to harvest garlic at a nearby family farm. Their family home was an Earthship. I was told that it's the only one in the area. Sorry, if my spelling is off. Eyes are not functioning properly today.
Awesome William! And good idea on running the drive through barn east to west. Not only can you do the greenhouse on the south side like you said, but the breezeway running east west through it should allow for great airflow cooling
Your happy it’s dry where you are, where I am we need rain twice this week I’ve had to haul water for my compost pile. I drilled a dozen tiny holes in the bottom of a five gallon bucket so the water has a chance to soak into the pile. Bucket sets on top the pile and I’ve ran four buckets through the sprinkler bucket each time.
video of the new pond after the rain? im looking to put in a vernal pool in my yard (lot of amphibeons in my area with not a lot of spawning locations) and am curious how your new one handles the rains. id love to keep mine super simple just a low area on clay soil with some groundcover that can handle drying out mid summer while being submerged in the spring and fall.
Awesome growth on your project! Love when a days work comes along that well. It's invigorating and contagious at the same time. I can't get my prosthetic fast enough so i can get back to my grocery row garden and continued remaking of my Dad's old orchard. Most of his old friit trees dont priduce anymore and a lot of weeds, ferns, nettle in between. Going to clean it up a bit. Get things going in grocery row garden style with blackberry and salmonberry hedges on the outside. One step at a time. And constant moving forward.
I think it would be great if he could purchase that land as a buffer… use it for people tenting who are there to learn… maybe even tent platforms so weather doesn’t affect their sites too much.
@@louisegogel7973 yeah, buffers are nice. My point was that the area he said was sprayed looks pretty green in the videos i've seen so i was just wondering what the extent of the damage was.
It doesn't look like there's much damage! I cut a lot of the vegetation on that side down to kickstart the decomposition cycle. The rest of the property, thankfully, looks unaffected.
Random question I just thought of: can I use fish water “primer” to get rid of chlorine/Chloramine in water for the garden? Anyone ever tried this? The product I’m talking about a is Seachem’s “Prime”.
Are you sure you can just dig out a forest's soil and call it a pond? I hope you follow through to the end and find a way to line it or something. What's the permaculture explanation for this? Fukuoka once said that it's better that one doesn't have any money left after buying land, that way you don't have the power to destroy it. Not saying you did, but it reminded me of that.
This a very unhealthy, new growth forest. The soil is still very heavy clay, so there's no risk of it leaking. Everything will work out. It's never a bad idea to slow, trap, and store water.
Great work. That pond looks cool. I’m sure you realized you had just as much dirt on your face. 😂. I can’t wait to see things come together.
It ended up everywhere 😂

You better believe I'll be filming as soon as it rains 😂 I'm so excited to see it fill.

Please, do you have a homemade recipe for potting soil?
I'll show a recipe soon!
@@ThePermacultureConsultant excellent!
Did you have any damage from your neighbors spraying? How about a video update on that?

Exciting! Thx William! 😊

Hmm, I've never heard of that but it's possible! Chlorine Dioxide will also work!

Yeehaw
Did you line your new pond with clay
This is East Texas.. it's ALL clay 😂
Are the birms completly done around the new pond? In some parts of the video it didn`t seem so.
No they're not. The berms also won't be retaining water. I'll be using them as planting surface.
Hey William what part of NC do you live in ? I'm from NC Mts Haywood county , but live in SC now
He's in Texas.
