how tight do you put the new style of valve stud gaskets on? Do you put them on til they are just about to start mushrooming? i have never used this newer type of oring/gasket all the old ones had the metal covers and the washer piece on the bottom.
is it just me or does it seem like none of these channels have any clue whats going on? does anyone have a recommendation for a channel that has actual tutorials with clear instructions and nuances of the particular process? If i want to watch an edit of someone doing it for the first time i can make one myself. Dude didnt even warm up the engine.
8:39 I say you should warm it up boss. Just because I didn't do it on camera doesn't mean I didn't go back and check after it was warm. Been a few years but not my first time. Check out LC Engineering, they should still have their tutorials. That's who I learned from when they built the engine for my original 4runner back in high school.

Looking good 👍🏾👌
Looks really good!
Thank you! Now I just need to get the rest of it looking good lol
I have toyota and the dam thing will never die 1994 4x4 7 and 11 cold
lol My old 4runner blue was the same way, I would drive it like a 2 stroke dirt bike and it kept asking for more.
FYI, on a cold engine you want to run you valve specs .001 tighter than factory rec, since the .008/.012 is for a warmed up head.
Great video on valve adjustment! Would appreciate knowing what kind of paint you used on the valve cover for all three coats.
Thank you! and I apologize for the really late reply! I used Dupli Color for the Primer, base and clear. the silver I used is called Ford Silver.
What year is your 4runner? I have an 86, also white. Good video. I'm currently in the middle of doing the same to mine.
Probably should hold the screw at the top with screw driver while you release nut so the adjustment does not move
What’s up? Why sky scrapers and aero planes of course!

I tightened them until it started to mushroom a little bit. No leaks, I haven't had a chance to drive it around a whole lot yet but seems just fine.
What did you clean valve cover with? Thks
Mitch, how did you install half moons?..thks. jc
I just used a bit of RTV on the curved part and placed them in the head.
