Thanks for the video! Already know how just making sure you guys are doing it right...lol. Browsed over your website, and I will keep you guys in mind when I need stuff for my Toyota pickup.
I'm thinking the same thing. A person would have to work really fast before it cools down. I'm going to use the specs this video recommends when cold, and cross my fingers.
@@yeahthebundys8391 Fine. You cab do it cold or warm --- but just follow the specs listed here for each. Remember, the feel of the gap has to be just like points. Not to tight, and not to loose.
When all done adjusting, does it matter where the timing is at? Should it be at TDC when putting it back together? I'm scared to do this because of the timing. Not sure if I mess it up by not setting the harmonic balancer right.
I know this was not part of video but can you tell what silicon to use to put the half moons on and where the silicone should go and how much to use? Thks..jc
I use some stuff by Aisin it’s called formed in place gasket (FIPG) it seals AMAZING. Used it for my timing cover to head gasket seal, rear main seal, and all the sealing bolts as well. Would definitely recommend. Good luck!
Not sure what this particular motor has different from stock, but I just had my 22R rebuilt for $1200. I had it done by a retired mechanic in SC. Most shops where I live wanted $1400-$1600.
At top dead center timming is at zero and distributor rotor points to plug 1. What does distributor rotor point to after you turn crankshaft 360 degrees? Is timing at 0 also then? Thks...jc
seems so easy but im so afraid to do it.
i am going to be doing this today on my 22re once it gets warm enough outside
Thanks for the video!

Very Easy, took me 1 hour both times. I did it Warm as per service manual. Runs amazing lays scratch lol, getting 30mpg city/hwy combo
Can anyone tell me what vehicles came from the factory 22rte? Thanks
.008 intake .012 exhaust
Says .006-.008?
The video cannot be made any more simpler than this. Thanks in advance
Why wouldn't Toyota have the engine cold to adj. valves?

@@whatsyurprob158 how did you end up going with the adjustment?

Nobody ever shows putting the valve cover and half moons on. Most important part...jc

@@CraftyMantis I am late, but thks crafty..jc
Glad I found your channel good job explaining the relevant details in the process and not getting out in the weeds
nice. how often should that be checked? is it set it and forget it?
No, definitely not. They need to be checked about every 25k miles and adjusted accordingly.
Very professional. Thank you.
What kinda money do you have into building this 22r and what kinda power do you have after?

Why not 8 and 12?
U the best thank u
Very detail vedeo

J C the rotor would be 180 from #1 and pointing at #4. The firing order is 1342 and the crankshaft turns twice to the cams once.
Great..so would the timing be at 0 also at this point or is that irrelevant as long as the distributor is at plug 4? Thks...jc
J C the timing marks on the pulley will be on “0” when the engine is at TDC #1 or #4
