The MXR M-107 Phase 100 has a broad spectrum of tones with its 10-stage analog circuit. Since the 70's, the MXR Phase 100 has produced a wider frequency sweep and swishing resonance (feedback) that blends well with many instruments besides guitar. 4 Intensity presets on the Phase 100 change the effect's width and depth, while the speed control covers anything from slow coloration to rotating speaker tones. Updates from MXR include a stage friendly LED and standard 9V DC jack.

the phase 100 is a six stage phaser. I just made one of each . the phase 90 is a 4 stage so is the ehx small stone and the phase 45 is a two stage. I love phase pedals i like the rythmic sweep. great pedals for many styles. Arguably the first phase pedal was the univbe. its a 4 stage phaser with ldrs and and mismatched capacitors at each setting giving it a warble instead of a equal depth.
The 100 is actually 10 stages

@@LeviBulger Both you and @strassercaster are (technically) both correct. Whilst a Phase 100 has 10 stages in its circuit, only six actively modulate, whilst four act as filters. The more frequency notches you add to a phaser circuit (typically determined by the number of stages, which are typically multiples of two), the more your signal is affected. Most phasers that have all actively modulating stages don't have more than eight. The Phase 100 works by having the four non-modulating stages connected with the feedback or 'Intensity' control, which is a 4-position rotary switch allowing for regeneration and adjusting the range of the oscillator-controlled stages, somewhat similar to the Feedback control on an Electro-Harmonix Bad Stone. The depth of the effect of the modulation stages works in tandem with the rate, or 'Speed' control, although the depth difference between the minimum and maximum levels on the rate control isn't as pronounced as the chnage in behaviour made by adjusting the Intensity control.

Billy Corgan ran, I'm pretty sure, all of his leads on Siamese Dream, and some on other albums, through a phase 100, 4 o'clock 7 o'clock respectively. Listen to the intro of Cherub Rock and you can hear the little bit of "movement".

Not a big fan either, but some folks have made interesting sounds with a phaser. "Ain't talking bout love" has the most amazing intro ever to me, and I'm a big fan of Albert King, who frequently used a phaser for his blues playing

The MXR 90 though it sounds great, lacks the flexibility of the 100 filter knob. MXR 95 offers two filter sounds which is nice but I would want the extra filters of the 100.
With that being said, I wonder if the extra features of the Seymour Duncan Polaron including presets is even better?

how about the other 6 settings in the Intensity control? are they just for you to play around?? I just got one of these and every demo focuses on those 4 ¨pre sets¨ only (?)
There are 4 different range modes on the left dial. The right dial is just speed. There isn’t really a preset button at all

I had one and decided to sell it . It is a nice pedal but its very heavy and big. I had a Boss PH-3 which I really didn't like one bit. I think I will go for a Phase 90 as it seems to get all the love.

Had the original P100 on my board for 10+ yrs. Those were 8-step, no LED. Gotta be honest though, never quite got the sound I was looking for - there just wasn't much else out there at that time.
