For everyone that's having a difficult time having him spawn at the church make sure you go back to the bridge and exhaust all of his dialogue before you continue if he is still on the bridge after you rest at a Grace site you still need to talk to him a little bit more

@@tirellramoswhitehurst3697 don't freak out doesn't mean you missed out on it just means that you need to go back to the church after killing the blood priest that spawns then rest at a Grace site then go back
For those of us who passed up on this and now are stuck late game. Have no fear, simply go to the church where she would spawn normally and she should spawn regardless of doing the quest. Or if this is a result of me atleast killing the invader that drops Reduvia, kill him and return to the church.

Same here. I only helped the dude with the hat once on Raya Lucaria Academy and still ended up getting the weapon by going to the church.

important note: you actually don't have to defeat any boss to get to the atlus platueau, as long as you obtain the left and right medallion you can get there

I actually killed yura for his nagakiba but still ended up killing all the invaders listed in this video. I just today stumbled on the invader that drops this weapon and still got it even though yura was dead in my playthrough. Sweet!

Years ago when I first played Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate your guides were so helpful then and they still are VERY helpful to this day keep up the awesome work and I appreciate this guide and all your other ones too
So for those who have said they have done the quest for Yura (up to you saving him at the academy) and proceeded to the church, but had another NPC boss spawn there. I had the same thing happen.
Upon entering the church I initially did not see Yura and instead the other scarlet looking npc popped up.
I defeated him and went back to a site of grace then returned to the church hoping it would respawn Eleonora. But nothing happened
A SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME is I went back to the academy and spoke with Yura and made sure I exhausted all his talk options.
He should say to you that " If you happen to meet Eleonora there is no shame in retreating" (something like that)
I returned to the church and he was on the ground like he should be and Eleonora spawned as well.
I proceeded to beat her and got the poleblade!

Right he did right amout of talking but he didn't do enough show for the show and tell just tell and I could have Wikipedia that man come on

Yeah his reply was callous but maybe the creators will take it as feedback, some people aren’t familiar with the map so I understand. The guide worked for me but I do know the map pretty solid now

3:46 - if you are late game like I was, and confused on where to go because yura wasn’t able to be found in any location he showed in this video, just skip to this time stamp and go to his blue marker #2, and defeat the bloody finger that spawns to get the poleblade - assuming you have the Atlus Plateau area unlocked. ;)

Read in another comment here, if the NPC/Yura here is dead (mine was, his katana the Nagakiba was at his first location in this video), you can go to the Second Church of Marika, you'll get invaded and the invader is named Eleonora. You'll get the polearm from this invader.

If someone cannot find the red summoning sign on the ground (like me) - you have to activate the statue on the left hand side of the bridge first, the sign will appear then.

I always see these overcomplicated guides on how to activate the grand lift but it's a simple as getting both halves of the medallion from fort haight and fort faroth, getting the glintstone key, and crossing the bridge through the raya lucaria seals, easy peasy
didn't need to beat godrick, scale any cliffs, or go through a cave lol

i never spoke to yura or helped him in his invasion but when i went to the 2nd church eleonora still spawned and dropped the weapon so i got super lucky

Very good for beginners i recommend.. I struggled to get to the other side of the bridge but you said what you need to do step by step
Just a heads up, I believe this weapon is bugged at the moment. It currently does not receive any damage bonus from stat scaling. Hopefully this is fixed soon!

Yup, it is bugged. So frustrating as a dex/arc character
No damn wonder it feels like it does no damage........and I used up most of my somber stones on it too, fucking sucks
@@westleywill3877 FYI you can buy level 1-4 somber stones from a guy in Liurnia
But you can get it easier and wait for the fix, cause its bugged for her too.

I actually didn't know this weapon existed until I killed the last boss and yura had long died ago at the beginning of my playthrough and I never gave a second thought about. I went to that second church of Marika and the invader still came and I got the twin blade.

I actually killed him for his hat waaaay after when I arrived at the mountain top of the giants, you don’t even need his quest you just gotta get invaded by the npc that drops it, hope this helps!
If he doesn't show up at the church it's because he has more dialogue. He kept repeating the same "thank you" line and for me he said it like 4 times. But after he tells you to be careful of her and to "be on your way," that's when he's at the church

What’s wild is I didn’t meet this samurai character until the end of the game no spoilers. I went to where he was up the river and found his katana. I then went to second church of marika and fought the invader and got the pole arm.
Just wanted to say thank you. I never saw him either and I killed him at that location you’re talking about. I was wondering if I could get his katana, which is their under the bridge.

Just wanted to say that the arcane wepons with busted scaling are now fixed as of this latest patch (1.03). Havent seen it my self in game but the official patch notes are now out.

For everyone who can’t find the second church of merika, at 3:47 it is a blue marker on the map. It’s not too far from the left main path.
His Katana was left at the first spot I talked with him and when I was going for all the sacred tears she still appeared at the church for a fight. I also didn’t do the invasion part.

BTW it's bugged and does not receive damage bonus from attribute scaling. Seems to be the case for a lot of Arcane focused weapons
So bummed, re-specd my character specifically to main this weapon, hope fromsoft figures out what’s going on soon

Make sure you talk to yura after you kill the second enemy in the quest line. If you don't then I'm pretty sure you'll break the quest line like I did because he is not showing up at the second church of marika for me and idk where he is. He isn't at the academy
same, his dead body isnt there neither is the girl with the pole
He is under the site of grace right near where you defeat the bloody finger in the river. Took me a while to find him because if you defeated the bloody finger first he will not appear at the camp site.

Rivers of blood is very fun to play with but I fine myself always drifting back to this twinblade duel wielding the god skin peeler so much fun! And it's a great set up to grab if your having trouble getting past the capital area!

@@tomasrodriguez674 yes worked quite good made a straight dex build and faith! God skin peeler and twin blade! Rivers of blood for back up! As long as it hasn't been nerfed in the past 4 months with bleed works great!
For everyone who is confused about him spawning at the church - as it seems he no longer spawns there. Instead go back to where he once was on the bridge and the nagikiba should be there.
He’s not there or back at the river. And he still doesn’t spawn at the church. Think I’m shit outta luck lol

By the way. If you are far enough into the game to the point where he isn’t under that structure in the beginning, there should be a Nagakiba laying there. Then you can head over to the second church of Marika and Eleanora will be there to kill
what if i already went to the church and killed another enemy that spawned there and collected the sacred tear before i talked to him. Eleonora doesnt spawn even after doing the quest steps

FOR ANYONE WHO CANT GET ELEANORA TO SPAWN OR CANT FIND YURA - here’s how I did it.
I killed the guy for the dagger and was at the second church but couldn’t find yura. I tried what people said in the comments, to go to the academy but the seal wasn’t there for me to touch on the ground. I went back to the church and some other chick just spawned and tried to kill me. What you need to do after beating her is go north from murkwater grace (where you got the dagger) until you find him in between a crevice. Exhaust his dialogue, then go to the academy and the seal will be there on the bridge. After beating the invader, speak to YURA (he will be on the bridge near the seal on the left). And exhaust his dialogue. Once you do that, go back to the church, he’ll die and youll get his weapon and eleanora will invade you. Cheers

Yeah man the seal was there for me to touch and go help yura but then he wasn't on the bridge

I later went to the church and all I could find was a blood priest hanging around
I rested at a site of grace, and nothing.. The church is empty, yura won't spawn at the bridge, he won't spawn in limgrave, nothing
İf i forget talk with yura on the bridge , what can i do ? How i have this weapon?
For anyone having trouble with beating Eleonora, I used the nightrider flail and just held L2 until she died. Every hit just staggered her and she was stun locked. As for beating the nightrider, try fighting him in the day.
I did a best start ish speed run and got this within two hours and started using it at level 21 wretched, with bare minimum combat. There's also the Scavenger Curved Sword nearby the second church of Marika, another great bleed weapon, get a buddy to drop you a second one and you have a great start to a pvp build with bleed
yep, quite funny how you can get most stuff for a dex arc build pretty much instantly if you know where to go. you can go samurai, find the 2nd uchi, get nagakiba as an alt (+ eleonora + reduvia in the same quest all in one quick location speedrun)
I thought you could only get one scavenger's curved sword and that was near mt.gelmir?
i dont remember doing any of this to get in my first playthrough i just remember looking through my inventory and having it so i thought its a weapon u got from defeating a boss or something
This thing is great cause the special grants hyper armor and does tons of poise damage

Interestingly enough, you don't have to do the questline at all. If you kill Yura when you first meet him, you get the Nagakiba. You will then still get invaded by Eleonora at the Church and can get her poleblade there. The only drawback is missing out on the Ash of War and the smithing stone.
The ash of war is quite good though
How do you get Yuri's hat?
For anyone wondering, you can get this weapon from the Invader in Atlus Plateu, Marika second church, kill her and it should drop after you defeat the first invade in the river :).

you can do this quest chain without killing any story bosses and still use the grand lift
Heads up everybody who has killed the guy for the sword instead of waiting to get the twin blade all you have to do is go to the church and the invasion will still trigger
Oh thank god, I attack him and wondered what the npc would do in this game……long story short he didn’t help me kill the invader npc w/ blood daggers and after watching this vid thought I couldn’t get this weapon anymore. 🙃

@@WanderingNasi for the record, a few weapons are bugged at the moment, this polearm being one of them. it’s weapon art should be fine when it applys blood loss but the normal attacks don’t do much damage. another weapon thats bugged that comes to mind is Rivers of Blood
Fastest way to get to Altus plateau is to load in get torrent, then head to lunaria grab the glintstone key, go into the academy, use the other side of the water wheel elevator to go all the way to the bottom, then make sure the abductor eats you so you get teleported to volcano manor, simply go and follow the route to get royal knights resolve then just make your way through and out of the manor via the main entrance, then simply follow the level area eastward to come to Altus plateau from there head to second church of Marika to the unlock the grace, if the invader doesn't spawn, simply follow yuras questline and pop back in to the church to get it to trigger
Eleonora is very tough to fight, had some hard time fightin her
Tried many times, various strategies, and then… ive been interrupted, just when she spawn in the church, i received a call and tried to run away while on phone… but she she didnt stop chasing me. So i accidentally fell down the nearby cliff, landed on a rock that stood up half way down. Eleonora jumped after me and died immediately
I got killed by some ghost wolved down there right after that because the situation overwhelmed me But…
I gained all the loot nonetheless xD

If anyone is having problems finding the quest guy in any of his places just go to the second church of marika in altus plateau and kill the invader and she will drop the weapon

Weird problem/bug... I invaded at the academy and won, however he does not show up on the bridge afterwards for me to talk to him, resting does not make him show up either.
I went to the 2nd church and got invaded by Violet (getting the weapon from this video) however Yura was not on the ground. So i was not able to speak with him or get his armor/whatever else he gives. Very weird, but at least I got the weapon.
I haven't seen him in my world since finding him under the overpass after the first invasion.

I killed Yura at level 40. No quest
Killed the first invader at level 30. Got the Reduvia dagger.
Once I got to Altus Plateau I just went straight to the church and killed her at level 134. Got the PoledBlade. Thanks for the location!
I’ve done everything up until finding him laying in the second church of marika. I went there and fought the first invader but when I go back I can’t find the npc on the ground. Anyone else encountering this issue?
You have to kill the invader, fast travel back to yuri on the bridge (with the red summon sign) talk to him and complete all dialogue, then go back to the church and he’ll be laying on the ground and you can fight the mini boss.

i did some research on reddit and other sites and tested it myself. It seems that you have to loot the nagakiba to make eleanor spawn. So : kill yura in limgrave and loot the nagakiba straight away or go thru his questline and collect the nagakiba. it doesnt matter. After you take the nagakiba eleanor will spawn.
What if yura isn't at the church even though I've got both medallions and completed his fight at lucaria what then
You have to go back to the bridge where you helped yura once you spawn at the grace look to your left and talk to him until he says he in your way, go back to the church and you’ll find him dead then fight Eleanor and get the poleblade
incase you are far off the story, he'll no longer be on the camp but you can pick up the nakagiba sword then proceed to altus plateau where you'd find him on the ruins to kill the invader. you miss the quest but still get the rewards which is neat.
Went into NG+ and ended up trying to do this quest again to get another nagakiba after already getting to the godefrey fight before radagon. When I started NG+ I went straight to murkwater caves to start the quest (because I forgot you have to talk to him first) and ended up killing the invader couldn’t find him after then came to this video to remember that you have to talk to him under that over pass, but when I got there his nagakiba was sitting where he should’ve been. Is there any explanation to this? Not complaining cause it just saved a lot of time but I’m just confused.
If yura doesn’t pop up at the church for you , try going back to the academy and finish his dialogue until he says be on your way then go back to the church. Worked for me. Hope this helps someone

Try going back to the bridge and talking to him again exhausting his dialogue. Yura didn't show up for me either till I went back to the bridge and talked to him.

so i killed the bloody fingers with yora in the invasion and then came to the 2nd church, and a blood boss spawned instead of him being there, then I reset and went BACK there, and he's still not there, not was there an invasion. Did I do something wrong?

Yo I figured it out. Make sure you go back to the second invasion on the bridge and talk to the guy again. Then when you go back to the church he should be there. Hope this helps

I was just able to go to the bridge north of Raya and use his sign.
If you struggle against Eleonora, you can cheese the hell out of it with an axe. Use the Wild Strikes (attack that works when you press the left trigger to use up your FP gauge) as soon as she spawns and keep hammering her with it. She won't be able to land a single attack and the fight is basically over within 10 seconds

does the bleed build up increase with weapon updgrades and by increasing arcane? its bleed buildup is low compared to a standard twinblade with a blood infusion
