Okay
What's odd is that Ankha has never been rude to my character in New Horizons. She certainly isn't upbeat like all the characters obsessed with working out but she comes across as more laid back than the other villagers on my island and also seems to spend the most time indoors (so I've learned how to craft a LOT of gold things from her).
I’ve never seen her craft a day in my life yet and I can never find her on my island 😂

Agree. She’s always crafting, singing, watering flowers and even doing yoga with Julian, Sprinkle and Goldie. She’s really chill and she’s very nice to my character as well. I actually like her better in New Leaf. She was so sarcastic and funny. She’s besties with Goldie in both games.
Oh, that is because in new horizons they made the villagers nicer, so they wont tell you bad things
@@not_peppa3450 I think it’s a good thing, people had a bad time this year, they don’t need to be told they suck by their villagers. Maybe when COVID is over they’ll update more mean dialogue back.

I figured the stepped gold were bars of gold that referred to the wealth of the Pharaohs or something. Or maybe Ankha's great at smelting and that's her backup toilet.
My favourite villager is Poppy, BAR NONE.

I'm pretty sure gold bars represent exactly what they are, gold bars. Not an ancient build. The pharaohs and royalty were rich. They had lots of gold. I think as a decoration in Ankha's house they represent wealth, especially since the snobs in Animal Crossing represent snobby rich people.
Out of all of what I seen in animal crossing it’s the golden toilet that’s in the corner of the room that raises the most questions.
I would love to see background on Kabuki, I love him and would love to learn more about the Kabukis.

Yes so I saw the Zone animation like everyone else. Afterwards i was just curious as to why such a character existed in Animal Crossing, which I had never played.

This is a very interesting video. I'd also like to learn more about Coco. She may not seem that interesting, but I am interested in how she appears to be a ghost inhabiting her own Haniwa. I wonder if her wanting to be an astronaut has anything to do with Japanese funerary practices or beliefs or anything else Japanese? I know that her Japanese name, Yayoi, would fit with the theme of her being a ghost within her own Haniwa. "Yayoi" translates to, "new life," which could be taken as a reference to either reincarnation or, kinda fitting with Japanese mythology, a spirit possessing an object; much like a lot of Youkai; to "continue" their life. Given that her Haniwa shell appears to be the type that has her own body's ashes mixed in with the clay, one could also say that she's technically inhabiting a form of her own body. I am curious why she's a rabbit, though; if there's anything to do with any of that. All I can think of there is with her dream to be an astronaut, as the moon is commonly seen as having a rabbit seemingly inscribed on it; another big thing in Japan, as it appears in the Japanese sky like the rabbit is making mochi.

Absolutely not. People think they can just do whatever they want on the internet, and there will be no repercussions. It's absolutely repulsive and disgusting behaviour, and I am appalled that anyone would think that it's appropriate or excusable. No one deserves to be objectified and disrespected in such a way, and it is my duty to speak out against this sort of bigotry and hatred because it is completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated for even one moment.

Ankha was one of my favorites from the original Animal Crossing. She was an extremely rare villager. Actually not a villager but an island MPC. It was lucky to get her. I was particular about my world. It had to be a certain way and one time I decided to try for both my ideal land and Ankha as my island character. Took me almost a year, lol. But I have my favorite world with my favorite island MPC that I occasionally still visit.
This is really interesting looking forward to the next one I wish villagers would talk about their backgrounds more I know some of mine say little things here and there. But it would be fun to hear more about their family etc.

The Egyptian painted their eyes with ashs. This protected the eyes from scabys. Ashs are treatment for that.

Meg Sullivan i actually downloaded your podcast and I loved the fire emblem series you did. I think a really cool video, if you are interested of course, would be how each pokemon region is related to a place in real life. I know Unova is based off of New York and obviously the first gens were based on the Japanese islands. Would be cool if you related different areas to actual places! Just a suggestion though. I can’t wait for more podcasts! I binged them in a day haha
