You did a great job of explaining and letting us see the gorgeous Highlands. It is obvious that they trust you. I enjoy watching your videos and the Adler Farms videos. Best wishes 🌸
Very informative! Thank you for sharing, I pray that God blesses you today! Hugs and love to you and your family. 💖✝🤗 Have a beautiful and blessed week. God Bless 💖✝🤗
I would love to have 2-3 Highlands but we live in a rental in the country on 1 acre.:-( Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your beautiful Highlands.
Thanks for this informative video. I’m in New Brunswick, east coast Canada and see some highlands on our drive to see our son. So pretty in the fields. 🇨🇦
My father's family was Scottish and Cherokee, and he grew up farming, in Purcell, OK. When he was a boy, he knew about the Scotland Highlands, but never got the chance to see one; he would have LOVED the chance to raise these cattle
I can't believe you don't have more subscribers with the beautiful Highlands and all the information you provide. That calves are pretty darn cute too!
Hey y'all, I really love all the Highland Coos videos. Chad has two now and his father has one. They added the two heifers for Fred AKA McFred lol. Thank you for this video I like them all take care bye for now
Years ago back in the 60s when growing up there was herfords with horns especially the bulls would have weight mounted on the tips to control the angel or direction they grow saw many where the horns turned down and in less of a weapon some at sometime had the tips tried to keep from growing in their face or other areas close to head . We at one time had around 100 cows mixed mostly herfords couple dairy and mixed black cows and Angus
I know about "cows", but want to learn more about Highland Coos!!! I am hoping to add some to our homestead!!! Thank you for sharing your experience!!!!
I must admit 😉 I will often pause your videos to fully read some of the comments only because I’m too old to multitask (or I can’t be bothered) but I do find a lot of the comments relevant to what I’m doing right now, that you might not be doing 😀 so thank you to all 👍
Thanks for the history & glossary of terms. I found you through Chad at Adler Farms, one of the several family homestead & sanctuary farmers that I follow. You have started a fire inside Chad. With all of the different animal breeds that he maintains, he has finally found his direction regarding his passion for "fur, feather & bristle" critters. Having been raised in dairy & agricultural rich rural Western Massachusetts & having worked on 2 of the 4 farms on my street from age 11 through my teens, I have developed a fondness & respect for cattle specifically. My Father who was the oldest of 6 siblings having been raised on his parent's farm, couldn't wait to enter the U.S. Army when he turned 18 near the end of World War II, just to leave the farm life & discover the World. I grew up on 54 acres of farm & forest land with a beautiful brook ran through it, that was the West side of the family farm when my Grandparents retired & terminated it. He never got farm life out of his blood though because even though he worked as a Project Manager in the Commercial/Industrial building construction business, working all around the Northeast, he ended up with 7 to 12 Whiteface beef cattle for breeding & consumption. He finally retired from his career at 56 & dedicated his time to the "pseudo-farm" that he created. He purchased 3 Massey Ferguson tractors, both gas & diesel, with all of the implements to prepare, plant & harvest his own hay, as well as 6,000 Douglas & Concolor Fir trees in staggered plantings for Christmas sale in addition to an acre of Butternut Squash for annual sale & his own massive fruit & vegetable gardens. He was definitely a role model for me regarding honest work ethic. I knew though that I wasn't going to be a farmer because I never saw one take a vacation!!! lol Keep up the great content.
Very interesting. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I won't ever be able to own one but it was very interesting to hear about them. I have been watching the bull calf that Adler farms bought from you named McFred. He is so cute.
Questions: Are they good momma’s? Do they have difficulty birthing like some other breeds? Does their beef taste better than other breeds? Can you prove genetics (pedigree for registration) thru DNA?
I was sent over by Chad at Adler farms. I have never seen a Highland but I am very interested in following you to learn more. Your videos are very good!
Are they talking to you when they moo? I just love your channel. I’ve fallen in love with these cows in the last 8 months because we moved to a place that had some nearby. I didn’t know they existed before that. Thank you for these care videos. I love learning about them.
Thank you for all the info on the Highlands I’m in love with them so beautiful I really love the white one that you have so pretty but the horns I’m a little afraid of always look forward to your videos❤️
They are absolutely Beautiful! Love the long hair and the horns on them. Thank you so much for the information about these Amazing Highlander's! It was good seeing McFred's mom. He's a good boy and Chad and his dad of Adler Farms have been feeding him and they pet him and I think he likes it! He's very smart too. Thank you for taking the time to explain the Highlander's and some interesting things about them.
This is an amazing video w/a tremendous amount of information! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge and farm w/us!! Many blessings!!
I bought 2 highland Koos calendars for 2023. They're nice but I think you could produce nicer photos, based on the quality of your video, to create wall calendars as an income..... and I'd be first in line to buy one. I just want to hug one!!!
Thank you so much for this series of informative vids - Question: wouldn't it be wise to have a good hardened shelter for the Highlands during winter; cold, wind, blizzards, sleet, etc.?? P.S. I'm referring to severe winter weather (storms) like we get here in Canada -
This is such a great video! I always call our Highlands a herd as well. Guess I need to change that LOL I find the misgendering to be the most common misconception as well.
So if I was to try to raise these in Texas they are mostly for meat or sold to other breeders not just taken to a regular auction? Also I use hay rings to feed so how much of a problem wud that be with the highland horns?
They make excellent beef, but there is a pretty decent demand in TX/OK for live sales. I wouldn’t ever sell at a regular stock yard auction, but most of the highland associations have auctions. I have a regular hay ring, but haven’t used it because of the horns. I’ve been looking at hay rings meant for horses, but not sure what I want yet
Thank you, I like to know meanings before I make a fool of myself...love your channel and Highlands...liked them for years but not many around back then... keep up the good work...🥰
I just love their teddy bear ears they are just so adorable.
You did a great job of explaining and letting us see the gorgeous Highlands. It is obvious that they trust you. I enjoy watching your videos and the Adler Farms videos. Best wishes 🌸

I would be very interested in what specific proteins and supplements you guys feed! Looking to get some highlands
She is so beautiful. Massive horns. Do the Moms wean them Or do you separate them from moms?
Are they easily trained, in respect to pulling carts or farm equipment?
I need a video on how to transport one in a mini van under USDA regulations
Has a register been started on the Highlands? Can you and others do DNA RESEARCH.
❤️❤️❤️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can you tan out their hide?
Are highlands easy to tame, are they good for milking and is their milk a2 a2?
I am new to Highlands. How does the meat compare to Angus?
The females of many breeds are horned. Until I was an adult I didn't know polled was a thing.
So hearding cows become folding cows?
So if I was to try to raise these in Texas they are mostly for meat or sold to other breeders not just taken to a regular auction? Also I use hay rings to feed so how much of a problem wud that be with the highland horns?

It's the name...Moose sounds like a male name, not a female name.
Mousse like chocolate
