Thanks for watching and commenting - I think the squirrel actually stayed ahead of the raccoon's head. The raccoon was very close to grabbing the squirrel either by its tail or its hind end. Glad it wasn't successful on the live stream...
Ok.....this can't be normal! I assume this is the same raccoon that devoured the poor dove? Now she's going after squirrels???? Calm down, there's more than enough seed for you!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Surprisingly, it IS normal. Raccoons eat berries, other fruits, nuts, grains, and vegetables. Also eat insects, eggs, poultry, rats, squirrels, small livestock, birds, fish, snakes, craw fish, worms, frogs, & mollusks. Thankfully we don't see the majority of their eating live and on camera 😉
@@artdogg50 Thanks for watching and commenting - The list of what they will eat could be shortened to "They eat just about anything they can get ahold of"
As always, Thanks for watching and commenting - It was definitely a good thing the squirrel got away. I can only imagine the comments if it had been caught on camera - yikes!
Thanks for watching and commenting - Raccoons are amazing hunters and can move surprisingly fast. Lucky for the squirrel (and the viewers), the squirrel can move faster...
im going to fist fight the raccoon that showed up in my yard & scared away all my squirrel friends ive been feeding for 6 months. They're gone. I used to see them every day & now they don't come when i call. I'm going to put dabomb hot sauce in a hot dog & throw it out there. I wouldn't ...but im so mad. I even had the neighborhood bunny in the yard, with me, eating with the squirrels ,now, just a week later, no one.
Thanks for watching and commenting - Raccoons will attack and eat just about anything they can get their little paws on. They are a constant presence in the wild and I doubt that the raccoon incident is keeping the other critters away - unless it is nesting fairly close to where you are feeding. It is breeding season now and many of the critters are on high alert. Hopefully things will calm down for you in the next month or so 👍
My gosh, it's amazing the Raccoon was fast enough to sneak up on a Squirrel like that! He just barely escaped with his life!
Yep - it was WAY TOO CLOSE - We have seen enough disturbing actions on cam in recent days.
Raccoons are messy
Headbutted his squirrely tail right out of the feeding tray! Glad his squirrel instincts finally kicked in, almost a hair too late though.

Squirrel raccoon 🩵🖤💙
That was close! The squirrel should have fled at the sound of the birds fleeing!
Yes - that was VERY close - glad we didn't see a capture on cam - yikes!
Lightning speed on that one.

Lucky for all of us observers that the squirrel had good flight reflexes...
