This video contains footages from the FIRST VOYAGE on my new ship heading straight into a stormy weather.
We were lucky that the storm was detected earlier & corrective actions were taken as deemed necessary.
Sailing on smaller ships poses more dangers as you will witness in the video. The freeboard is less & the chances of water ingress are more. This demands for more vigilance & safety as even a small mistake can lead to huge damages of life, cargo & environment.
Merchant Navy poses great risks and dangers at all times, therefore is a well paid job.
Enjoy the video & don't forget to give it a big thumbs up if you found the video informative .

@@bethroesch2156 Ofcourse not
Brother are you in South Africa Durban
I saw your vessel yesterday. Vessel name cape Town
Vessel was by our car terminal
Excellent footages. You never disappoint us. What a perfect music sync with those high waves. Truly remarkable journey.
Thank you sai
How do join Anna
It’s nice to listen to a intelligent human, that actually has thoughtful things to talk about
Thank you
What I love in your channel is not only the content, but also your philosophy of life, your spirituality, your way of sharing space with Mother Nature. Thx to share that with us. Hugs KSN. Maurice from France 🇫🇷.
He's spritual person, he always adore Bharatiya ( Indian) philosophy, Sanatan Dharm - the eternal ( Hinduism) ,...
People with sprituality are rare nowadays 😊
Thanks Maurice for appreciating that
Love that too!
Roughest Ocean and The Toughest Sailors ⚓🇮🇳
❤️🌊
We Maldivian 🇲🇻 are in the middle of the Indian Ocean. We take daily trips between islands in this weather
@@mohamedsimad8067 Respect man! That's pretty hard and risky. Take care always .
*Roughest seas create the toughest sailors.
Here, fixed it for you
🤡 try crab fishing in the berents sea #fool
the transformation happening to you is a lesson for us , on the day one when you were missing home and feeling low while onboarding and now you are grateful for things!
Absolutely Purvi
Trying my best to capture real emotions
Such an amazing individual you are man. Just in matter of hours, I fell in love with your vlogs, your personality, communication, discipline and zeal for adventure and knowledge. Huge respect to raise yourself the way you are.
Stay humble and stay safe brother. ❤️
Thank you so much 😀
My father served in the U.S. Navy from 1929 to 1949. Most of his time was spent on destroyers. His stories of sailing through a typhoon scared me to death as a small child. His ship, the Walker, came completely out of the water a couple times. Back then weather forecasting at sea was more of a guess than science. Enjoyed your video very much but can't imagine sailing a Fletcher Class destroyer in a storm like that.
I went on to become a military pilot and retired from the airlines flying a B-777. Got to love modern meteorology.
Thank you Jim for sharing your story
Flying a 777 does sound very interesting
I'm currently a fisherman 💯
We know the distance we will go for fishing on our GPS program so we buy the fuel accurately so we won't run out at sea.I sail on canoes for fishing
Most Maersk ships carry our fishing nets away when we are found in their position 🤣🤣🤣
Aha
Just found your videos, and I love them. I was in the U.S. Navy for only 3 years, but in that short time I grew to love the sea, and miss it at times. Thank you for the videos, and I look forward to more.
Thanks Steven for tuning in and telling your story
Instead of following other people on UA-cam who just share their mundane daily activities, I find it really fascinating to know and understand the life of a sailor like yourself. You are doing a great job shooting all these precious moments, which in later life (after you retire) will be cherished by your loved ones saying we have a great guy with us who has seen life which no one has ever imagined. One more thing that inspired me to subscribe to your channel and watch your videos was your little insights on life that you give at end of the videos and in between shots too. Plus I am a nature lover, sea lover... It's really captivating to watch how you explain all the technical terms even, which we common people would have never heard of, as in regarding weather forecasts, the Swell as you mentioned in this video. Also it's a great work that you are doing documenting all of this which will also help those who wish to pursue this same career. Keep doing this Great work 👍👍👍
Thank you for showing us everything. I'm currently preparing for my OOW orals and whenever I have a break, I watch your videos to inspire me to pass them. Sending you lots of positive energy from Cape Town, South Africa 🙏🏻 be safe.
So happy to read that
Incredible work brother. The amount of effort and skill in these episodes are amazing! Keep it up!
Thank you Matthew
Those cinematic shots with that bgm simply osm bro !! Hope u are safe !
storm in indian ocean are huge,
also there are spouts as big as train...
really strange place ...most of the time
its calm as glass
Studying Customs Act 1962, just came to youtube to relax and luckily I got good video and youtube channel and also learnt many new things, Thank you
Absolutely amazing vlog. Valuable content, great footage, all supported by good music. The sea is an element, sometimes it's a bad master and shows its power. May God guide and protect you on your journey 🍀
Thank you so much Ivana
That was a pretty impressive storm well done for getting the ship safely through it.
Thank you
Emailed you also bhai
Great episode. I especially like your philosophical take on the bigness of the ocean compared with our relative smallness.
Glad you could relate Kenny
Hats off to your courage for getting us those dangerous close-up shots from the deck!
Love being on the sea with you! You have the chance to feel as wide as the ocean and as high as the sky.
Thanks for being a part Kathy
What a stunning video! I felt like I was on the ship with you. Well done!
Thank you
Thanks so much for this great video from your voyage KSN! While you may enjoy and appreciate the peace and beauty on the open ocean, I got more than my fill for my entire lifetime during my time in the US Navy on board Aircraft Carriers. Some of my time was even spent cruising through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, and then out into the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean, so I've seen a whole lot of that ocean... Enough for a lifetime!
Anyway, thanks again for this. It's great riding along with you on your voyage and seeing it from the safety of my office.. in the middle of Kansas, USA.. Heh.
Keep up the Good Work KSN! I look forward to more good videos.
Thank you Dean for tuning in
I used to keep watching aircraft carriers In the Suez
Maybe you were in one of them
Again and always again thank you for your dedication to us people, because this is something we cant see if we dont work on ship. Keep doing videos and I hope that one day you will get the gold button!!
Thank you dominik
My friend, I like your descriptive ability - it is intense but without unnecessary exaggeration, conveying a deep respect for and love of the oceans upon which you work. 🙂
Thank you Colin
That was a fantastic episode Karanvir. Those shots of the waves were stunning. Keep safe and God bless you all
Thank you Stephen
@@KaranvirSinghNayyar nice video...maersk cape town were here last week 11th in walvis bay safe travels
Thank You For Your Service
Those shots were pretty cool and the risk y'all take during those stormy weather, hats off to you guys.
After all that rolling and pitching yet you finished this episode with a smile 🙂...
Thank you for this video... Keep up the good work and do Stay safe at the same time...✌
Thank you
Indeed life is beautiful after every storm
It's just from the last week when I saw one of your vlogs and loved it and started watching your episodes. What I love about you is the energy level and the enthusiasm with which you present the episode just love it. I am not a big fan of travel over water cause I know how dangerous nature can be but always curious to know what life on ship must be where you guys spend almost 9 to 10 months or probably more without your neat and dear ones. One needs a strong heart to go thru all this. I also love your photography so thank you Karan for introducing me to this Shippe world. My best wishes and prayers for a safe voyage and hope to see more such lovely episodes 😊.
Thank you so much mahesh for these kind words
Really means alot
First time i wrote a comment and you replied Karan thank you for your acknowledgement 👍🏻
I used to have my 100 ton ocean operators license and did private yachts for about 10 years from Alaska to Panama and up to Toronto and everything in between. I would like to know more of what you do when you are back home. From another video we got to see your mother and sister, what a wonderful family. It would be interesting to know your progression and how you got to where you are now on board ships.
Awesome editing Karanvir.Hatts off to you for showing up extreme storm footages🙌🏻🔥🔥
Thanks ramesh
It's a challanging job.heartly I salute you.few times live on land & more times spending on water for our country.without our family stay on ship for much periods.such a great job love u karan sir. stay happy. God always with you.& we are proud of you.JAY HIND.
Amazing footage, you guys are just so lucky to experience the power of the sea. 👌
Отличное познавательное видео! Я бы тоже хотел вместе с Вами плавать по морям и океанам..
Thank God you are safe and sound bro. But I must compliment you on your filmmaking skills. You really have a knack for it. The shots look amazing and the editing is also great. Kudos !
Thank you so much
I suddenly came across your vlogs ... I fall in love with this season 3 .. That's really a tough job but also that much paying...You had managed all things perfectly with vloging and make us see those hude tides.. Love to see you brother ❤️. Take care and rocks ...
Thank you akshit
Very cool. We were on a cruise ship 3 weeks ago that could not pull into Nuuk, Greenland because of high winds. We went to our other ports on Nanotalik and Qorqatoq and back to NYC. It is remarkable how the weather affects ships.
I'm on a ERRV vessel in the north sea, we usually can last 5-6 months on 200 M3 diesel, depending on the weather conditions, in winter times when there is 10-15 metre significant we use more fuel of course
Thank you for sharing this
It was absolutely amazing to see how tough and scary life can be at sea. There is nothing above nature and you being able to witness these moments is another blessing. Shots were as usual perfect, very well captured and edited. Salute to you guys. Stay safe❤️ #seekdiscomfort
Thank you Varsha
That's the motto 🌊
hi, quite moved, when u said - Meditative, to go inside and see ourselves , also to see how small/ tiny we are in front of
vastness of ocean and nature. You need to be there to experience it - which is very inviting.
Beautiful cinematic shots and the bgm. Great work.
Hats off to you for showing such extreme footages 🙌🔥🔥❤️
Thank you Rahul
Exceptional footage! Makes us realize how small we are when compared to nature. Keep up the good work👍
Brave sailors with ocean adventures. Gods blessings shall always be with you ⭐🇮🇳🦸🙏
Great videos mate !! Cant wait to go through it all ! You are so at peace and philosophical on that vessel and it comes through on your videos !!
I try my best
One of the most stunning video I've seen on UA-cam this far... Damn... It was scary, enthralling, heart beat skipping, magnificent, sense of calm and the majestic show of mother nature... Stay safe man, thanks for help us all witness such a great visual of the far wild beauty of the nature...
Thank you for the words bro ⚓
Amazing video!!!! Great job!!! Thank you!!!! 👍👍
Thank you
Hi KSN! sea was so scary ,mind blowing cinematic shots, stay safe and strong through all the season and started to wait for next vlog.
Thank you sammara
Good to see you again with new exciting video....
Thanks to you we heard these things as stories from my father as he was an ex merchant navy, through videos we could realize the intensity of the situation. Now i can feel that moments my father have gone through.
So happy I could do justice to that
Hi Karan 😍 really informative and scary video.but everything good and bad situations parts of your job.. best of luck and good take care ❤️
Thank you sobia
Storms / rough seas become part and parcel of any seafarer's life. It is rare where one goes through an entire contact without being confronted by rough seas. It does become unpleasant if rough weather never abates as there is some amount of discomfort on the bridge. Any bridge watch keeper looks forward to the watch passing fast and then retire to the cabin and stretch out on the bunk. It's the galley staff who see a trying time as they cannot skip preparing meals but they still manage to cook and serve soup too !!
Yup well described
And galley staff are one of the most hardworking crew onboard
Rather take a safe route via suez canal to reach his destination
@@MohdZakir-xp8im The ship is bound for ports in West Africa. If Lagos is included, the distance from Singapore via Cape of Good Hope is about 8200 miles. At 20 knots, it will take about 17 days. If the route is via the Suez Canal, the distance is about 10,000 miles and it will take 21 days. Add Canal expenses too. Ships choose the shortest and the more economical route. Ships are built to withstand storms and rough seas. And seafarers are expected to accept this part of sea life as 'normal' !!
I don't know how I ended up on your video, but as someone who has no interest in merchant ship journeys, I found your video fascinating, insightful and educational!
Thank you
Heyy.. I am going to take my SSB Navy interview in a week and your videos have super excited me , I have mixed feelings to get a reality check, but I am excited and nervous at the same time. It is so fun to watch you and I can connect with you now..
Thanks for showing what the isolated world there looks like.
All the best Neha
My dad is fisherman & they take fuel in sea 900 litres in drums n they fill in tank of diesel & they also ice in that boat for 15 days as a sail of fishing in ocean
Thank you for telling us about that
Thank you for the shots of the sea - especially beautiful from the aft station watching the waves fold back around and come together. The fixed shots aimed forward showing the pitching were impressive too. Surprisingly little roll, does the ship have stabilizers or were you just lucky in the course and wave direction?
We were lucky due to the wave direction
Plus we have a few draft but no stabilizer
Salute for all the sailors from core of my ♥ sometimes it is so horrific for them but they do Their duty in all up and down🙏🙏
Thanks Mandira
Thanks for the video.
Excellent video!
Thanks!!
👍👍👍👊😎
Great to be back. 👍🇦🇺
Thank you for sharing.
It feels like I'm vibing with you and get to see the ocean which i always wanted.
Thank you so much sir!
Thank you
I loved this one too as usual. Karan, you are an outstanding human being. You seem like an awakened soul. I keep you in my prayers. Stay blessed!! Need more videos from you!! Take care!!
Thank you Beena
Thank you for showing to us real sea of nature 🎉❤
Your videos have gotten better over time. This was really well done! Bravo on the photography! Bravo on the sailing, just Bravo!
Thank you so much jimmy
The calm before or after the storm is hard to believe unless you see it. I have gone from Florida to Bermuda on a 45 ft sailboat and we got caught in a storm for a couple of days, 4 to 5 meter seas, and the day after the ocean was as calm as a pond, not even a ripple. So amazing to see.
I can totally imagine Eric
The calm is scary
Amazing, beautiful the Earth and Sea are! Thank you for sharing its beauty! Always stay and be safe!😊⚓
Loved your video and handling mother nature as best you can .
Thank you ,for a Amazing Video Officer
Thank you for sharing. The universe has your back.
Transiting the I.O. is always fun. I sailed aboard an LPD and an LSD (US Navy Amphibious Warfare vessels) which are very tiny compared to your ship. We were always in for a ride when we hit the I.O.! I have photos of the deck angle compared to the horizon looking like we were about to capsize!
Wow would love to see that
Awesome Videography, You have become a pro in film making.Cape of good hopes is one of the dangerous sea due to different currents. Stay safe and enjoy the different routes of your journey and your route planning. Stay blessed.
Thank you sir
Bringing in cape of good hope footage soon
