Hi guys, China's high speed trains are generally cheaper because of subsidy from the government, the purpose is for the people to travel easier, affordable and faster. That makes it easier for the people to travel more and the more they travel, their opportunities of creating more income increase and the country progress faster. Profits were not their main goal unlike some western countries where being profitable is their main goal, also shows how China were able to lift 800 million people out of extreme poverty, they re-invest their countries' revenues to build more infrastructures for the people also to improve their people's livelihoods. When the people are happy and have good living conditions, they will support their leader(s) again, unlike what's happening in EU and US. We, the citizens on this planet typically want peace, do business, work, enjoy our lives with our families and not wars. From this perspective, China has done incredibly well for the last few decades improving their country overall and its people's lives.
It's very funny because I watched some western media talking about China investment on their trains, and the first thing that pointed out was that the Chinese gov is losing money for their public transport investments. That is true, the Chinese gov. is willingly to lose money and built underutilized train tracks even to regions that are not occupied and developed yet. But the thing is, everything is not just about profit. The western couldn't comprehend why the Chinese would do such things that don't yield profit to them. The Chinese gov said that what they are looking is to stimulate growth. If people can move around freely easily and cheaply, they would. They are not looking for a quick profit for their transportation industry, they are looking for long-term growth of the whole country. This is something that's hard to be understand by capitalistic mind of the west.
Even US EU INDIA JAPAN SoutheifKorea keep spread hate about CHINA, Chinese government never did the same thing As a Chinese, I am super proud about our culture and central government. Chinese government like mature and logic adult, while those anti-CHINA government like stupid and ridiculous baby. I know people who have been to Iran and they all say how friendly the locals are over there. The US would insist that they are the most evil people on earth/
Good to see more and more western countries tourists visiting China. There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China. 1st, to see all the Chinese super infrastructures. 2nd, how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized. 3rd, why China is so safe even for foreigners. 4th, to see Chinese are super friendly to foreigners. 5th, to know China public transportation is so good, so convenient and cheap compared to their. If those western countries people visit China and see all these, they will realize how useless and incompetent their governments are compared to the Chinese government. With so much taxes they're paying, yet their useless and incompetent governments are not able to provide them the same infrastructures, cleanliness and safety to the people like in China whereby Chinese pay very little taxes or not paying at all. That is why their governments keep lying to them about how bad China is. How undeveloped China is. The governments do not want the people to see the real China and compare.
The US spends billions of dollars every year to control the media to smear and spread rumors to demonize China. Believe that more will be needed in the next appropriation
It's crazy you guys still do TV licenses. Imagine BBC UA-cam saying you need to pay for internet license because they 'broadcast' there. From UK former colony, Singapore, we scrap this relic in 2011 after many switch to online content on TV rather than watching broadcast

I am very surprised and confused that most times when BBC said something about China, it spreaded a lot of lies. How can a broadcaster like BBC be so biased against China? I would rather see your experiences with street food, but yeah hot pot, Peking duck and yum cha are a must-try in restaurants. Looking forward to following their travels in China again. Love from South Africa.
restaurant food is not expensive and street food really isn't that cheap. as long as you don't go to fancy restaurants you can get really good freshly cooked meals for around $3-4 per dish and you know they give big portions so one dish of anything will fill you up. just pick a couple dishes and some rice on the side. that way you can try lots of dishes on your next trip. as you can tell, most street food isn't prepared to order, it's reheated or assembled to order. yes of course some street food can still be good, but it really can't compared to even a local hole in the wall family restaurant. braised pork(belly), some vegetable dish, some white rice = heaven.

I am glad Ben's better from his depression due to travelling. Also loved how you rent out a house to fund your travels. I find I research about places I want to go to half the time from travel vloggers like yourself and the other half from websites like tripadvisor.
@2:47 Yes, I have to agree. London/UK transport is expensive and most UNreliable!! I used to live in London in the 70's. When taking the Underground, do NOT be surprised if the Underground station is suddenly closed and you have to walk to the next nearest station ! Do not be surprised if your train travelling to London suddenly stops half way for half an hour or more ! Do not be surprised if you have to wait 45 min in the dark and cold in winter for a 10 min bus ride to work! I am sure this type of Stress fastens your aging process ! @23:15 Oh No!! You are going to get a lot of name-calling from the China haters! They will call you Wu-mao, China Shill, Paid by the "CCP", etc. So be prepared! 😂😂😂

Very good observation! You guys got 10 out of 10. From a fellow UK resident originally from China. On the first point Confucius teaching mandates Chinese to treat non-Chinese as "guests". This is an ancestorial teaching. It is up to the individual to observe. Nevertheless it is in the culture that Chinese people extend kindness to foreigners as a second nature.
I highly recommend traveling to Xi'an! A few years ago, I visited and was deeply impressed by the Terracotta Warriors, the ancient city in the downtown area, and the food. The Terracotta Warriors are a must-see at least once in a lifetime, and the nearby theater is also a must-watch, offering a spectacular experience.

Great video summarising China! You guys are spot on! I’m a Kiwi and I found pretty much same things as you! The people, the safety, the infrastructure, technology and the food are outstanding for sure! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍👍
Beijing roast duck was introduced from Nanjing during the Ming Dynasty of China. Nanjing is the most famous place for duck food in China. They have three kinds of duck food there, and the duck food in Wuhu city next door is also very delicious.
Recommendations when you go to Shanghai - you will easily find great things to do in Shanghai. After you’ve spent some days there I highly recommend leaving the city for a day or two and visiting Suzhou and Hangzhou. They are both only an hour or less on the bullet trains from Shanghai and both have beautiful cultural things to see. A recommendation for each: Suzhou - the Jing Hang canals. Hangzhou - Xi Lake and Leifeng Pagoda
Price wise the street food < restaurants along the roads < restaurants in malls & office buildings. But even in the restaurants of malls, the food price is still reasonable.
Agree. Dog meat is not an everyday food like pork or beef. Actually it’s illegal in many Chinese cities to eat dog meat. If get caught, you’ll be in jail with a big fine. Many Chinese don’t eat it and there are lots of animal lovers too. I just can’t understand why people think only Chinese eat dog meat. In fact there are lots of South East Asian countries and African countries that eat it too.
cos the electricity gas water public transportation these supply are owned by chinese government, not private company. the government gives huge supplement to these companies to keep the price remain low. so people living in china won't feel too much inflation. for example 2rmb for a bus ride , the price was set 30 years ago. still 2rmb these days.

Great videos and honest comments about China. I am from Hong Kong and it was a terrible experience back to 30-40 years ago in China but for the last 15-20 years China has been evolving to be one of the fastest growing countries, and most important of all, the safest country to travel. Tons of HK people travel to China in the South region to shop, to do leisure things and to spend money as well day in day out, and particularly during the weekends. Thanks to you both, because you deserved a lot of praises in exposing the Western politicians' lies. Great work !
Congratulations on getting invited to speak on CCTV. 've been going to China every year since 2002 and still have to get a 2 year visa, which involves leaving the country and going back in after 3 months. But I usually manage to extend it in China, without doing this, by going to a visa office.Maybe next time, go and visit Southern China, so you can pop in to Hong Kong and then go back in. Places worth visiting, are Changsha, Fuzhou,Xiamen, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Macau, Guiyang, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Sanya (for warm winter)
First of all, thank you for speaking the truth about China. We welcome you to visit again with open arms!😊❤ Second of all, you guys are such a cute couple. Ben, you remind me of Bradley Cooper.
Sorry for my poor English, I would like to recommend 3 restaurants with the most Shanghai characteristics.

Nice video, very casual and spontaneous! I shall look forward to you one-year sojourn in China then!
Thank you!
You'll be fine, Reanne, on Chinese TV, or any other platforms. You and Ben are very good and interesting vloggers, which will be great for the Chinese audience to get to know more about you.👍
Thanks for that!
I am glad Ben's better from his depression due to travelling. Also loved how you rent out a house to fund your travels. I also do that, although I am just travelling for fun and not to make any YT videos. I find I research about places I want to go to half the time from travel vloggers like yourself and the other half from websites like tripadvisor.
Thank you man ❤️
@2:47 Yes, I have to agree.
China’s infrastructures are so above and beyond what other countries in the world had at the time, about 6 years ago, that Newt Gingrich (An anti-China American politician) couldn’t help himself but praised China for doing a great job at when he visited China several years ago!
Well done people
Thanks!
😊 Thank you
Very good observation!

Thank you for sharing this, very informative and helpful
I'm Chinese born in Cambodia, never been to China yet but this is great summary. Thank you.
Thank you where abouts in Cambodia ?

I highly recommend traveling to Xi'an!
A few years ago, I visited and was deeply impressed by the Terracotta Warriors, the ancient city in the downtown area, and the food. The Terracotta Warriors are a must-see at least once in a lifetime, and the nearby theater is also a must-watch, offering a spectacular experience.
It’s on our growing list of Chinese cities to visit
thank you! support u!
So true. I felt the same when I traveled to several cities in China last October/November.

Hi there!❤from China .You are affectionately known in China as the "Multiple Interpretation Couple"(多解释夫妇)which means you two are very patient explaining on what you saw or what you did, you are very sincere and have your own unique opinions. Many Chinese friends have come to know you.😊Although many of us can hardly get on youtube to watch your original video, but your video has been spread by all the major video platforms in China. I hope this will not bother you.😅Anyway, welcome to China again❤
Love that ❤️ it doesn’t bother us how people see our videos as long as we’re being watched 😃
@@OTWD_yt 🥰🥰🥰I hope you know more about China! Luke and Naomi are on a trip to Yunnan! Yunnan is really a good place you will like there, but the visa issue is really a bit difficult, but please rest assured, I believe that in the near future these are no problem!😃Best wishes !

A video debunking western lies on China usually exceeds 10 hours long!!!🤣🤣🤣
😂😂 to be honest this is quite along video for us
Just got back from Hanghzhou and Shanghai for 2 weeks. OMG it's like here in Dallas 20 yrs in the future. That's it! At nights, just stroll around and out of nowhere a group of young people yelled at us... told us where the entrence is to go to get on the overpass walkway to pass the the street... unbelieve friendliness everywhere. I want to go back now!
BTW spotless because robots on the street and malls, cleaning robots solar and battery powered. Unbelievable. Toilets that raises lids, lights up and flushes and closes the lid as you walk out...WTF.
I just got back from Yunnan in June 24. Its different from Shanghai. You should check it out. It's beautiful

Perhaps it is the only country in the world that can write the vision of "Long live the great unity of the people of the world" on its landmark buildings. And this has been adhered to for more than 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China ~ Tian'anmen ~ China

❤️❤️💯
ENjoy your next trip !
Thank you 😊
1st from New York City!

That’s definitely the plan ❤️
Price wise the street food < restaurants along the roads < restaurants in malls & office buildings. But even in the restaurants of malls, the food price is still reasonable.
Most Chinese people do not eat dog meat. Only a few small towns in Guangxi near Vietnam have the custom of eating dog meat on some special days.
Vietnam is the only country I’ve seen dog being sold for food
@@OTWD_yt South Korea even have canned dog meat. But I heard their government banned it now.
In fact there are lots of South East Asian countries and African countries that eat it too.
eating dog meat is a human right
cos the electricity gas water public transportation these supply are owned by chinese government, not private company. the government gives huge supplement to these companies to keep the price remain low. so people living in china won't feel too much inflation. for example 2rmb for a bus ride , the price was set 30 years ago. still 2rmb these days.
It's so refreshing to hear about your experiences
❤️❤️❤️

Great videos and honest comments about China. I am from Hong Kong and it was a terrible experience back to 30-40 years ago in China but for the last 15-20 years China has been evolving to be one of the fastest growing countries, and most important of all, the safest country to travel. Tons of HK people travel to China in the South region to shop, to do leisure things and to spend money as well day in day out, and particularly during the weekends. Thanks to you both, because you deserved a lot of praises in exposing the Western politicians' lies. Great work !
The south part you mean shenzhen right haha 😂
Thank you 😊
Congratulations on getting invited to speak on CCTV.

Great deliberation! Enjoyed your experience of touring China. Thank you for sharing and look forward to more from you 😀👍🎉
