The closest thing to a virtual kleenex that I can offer you is this promise: our next Rewinder might be my favorite yet, and it'll go up next Saturday. It is definitely more upbeat, but is also a change of pace for the series (hopefully in the best of ways). Tune in next week for the EXTRA SPECIAL EDITION, as well as throughout the week for some more Weird Rules, more Beef History, and as always - lots of love.
    Thanks for watching!

I firmly believe that if Jose didn't pass away, the Marlins would be a great team right now. He was coming into his own as one of the Top 5 pitchers in all of baseball, Giancarlo Stanton would continue to do great things, Dee Gordon is still a reliable starter, and Christian Yelich, JT Realmuto, and Marcel Ozuna were all rising stars playing on the same team at the time. When Jose died, all the momentum the Marlins had built in the previous few years died with him.
There's not many people in baseball who has such a lovable personality and were as talented as Jose Fernandez. Rest In Peace. I also think it's disgraceful that the Marlins organization hasn't retired his #16 yet....

Absolutely love Jose Fernandez no doubt about it....whats sad about the story that wasn't mentioned is...had he lived....he would be in prison for involuntary manslaughter and reckless boating 🥺. And he invited 2 of his teammates to go out with him that night too and they both declined....plus his gf was calling him throughout the whole night even called one his boys that was with him telling him "he's not okay, please watch him" repeatedly....when i hear details like those...(to me) it really does prove there's a higher power working out there...i wish Jose would've stayed on land that night/ i also wish he would've followed major league drug/alcohol regulations....he would still be here 😫 RIP 16

Jose story touched me so much, i saw the joy Fernandez had going into every start i would root for him no matter the team he was pitching against watching Dee Gordon at bat still and will always give me chills. Jose brother i hope you find peace in the after life we love and miss you I’m so sorry you never got the chance to live life. I was in Miami a couple days before Jose Fernandez passed (ironically for my grandma's funeral) and I went to a Marlins game. I bought a Jose Fernandez jersey because my last name is also Fernandez and I thought it was cool. While I was waiting at the airport to return, the TVs all had breaking news announcing his death. I was absolutely shocked and saddened. But I now wear that jersey in big moments to honor him 😭😭😭

After Dee crossed home and came into the dugout, I couldn't tell you what happened for the rest of that half inning. I crumpled into my seat and just cried. Like ugly cried.
