From the free Syrian people, I extend my sincere thanks to all the peoples of the West in particular,, who welcomed us with love and tolerance. We will never forget your kindness to us, and you are invited to visit beautiful Syria so that we can return your kindness. I hope that all Syrians will return to their country soon to contribute to building a free, loving, and welcoming Syria as it has always been throughout its long history ❤

It is crazy that DW, always bring on the fringe of the fringe opinion in syrian society, and try to make it the norm. Most of the ppl that are shown in the reportage are considered a part of the former regime, and syrian ppl want them to be hold accountable. But coz the new powers in syria are forgiving, they start to make this BS. I think if they continue trying to destabilize the country by using outside powers. Syrian ppl will change thier opinion

If they want a head of state that represents all (people, religion, colour, cultural backgrounds, political views etc) a "constitutional monarchy" would probably be best.
Their former monarchs (Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq etc) were quite good leaders who tried & did build up their countries & did make their ppl prosper.
The middle east is a very unstable region, yet the most stable & safe living countries with the best living standards in that region are all monarchies (Saudi, UAE, Jordan etc)
If you look around the world today, the most democratic countries are all "contitutional monarchies"
(UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Japan, Thailand etc)
Thats mainly due to the "contitutional government system" where the Monarch is "Head of State" & the elected Prime Minister is "Head of Government". With each others powers being limited and having to work together for the country.
The monarch also doesn't get involved in politics and just offers advice which makes them stay neutral & represent all ppl regardless of political views.
The Monarch also preserves the countries unique culture, customs, traditions, language, heritage & religion and are the best ambassadors for their countries.
So i would say restoring their "constitutional monarchy" would probably work best, as it wasn't Syria that put down their monarchy, but France as the French hated monarchy but was the regime that arrested the royal family & assassinated them.

Absolutely! A truly inclusive government is the cornerstone of a peaceful and prosperous Syria. The new Syrian government has a unique opportunity to rebuild trust by ensuring representation for all ethnic, religious, and social groups in civil society. 🌍🤝
Unity and inclusion can heal years of division and lay the foundation for a thriving, democratic nation where every voice matters. By prioritizing transparency, accountability, and collaboration, Syria can become a model for resilience and coexistence in the region. 💪

Sanctions are implemented by countries, and sometimes international bodies. They range from legislation to executive action. It will take time to remove them all. The new Syrian government has to make its case that it will not turn into a dictatorship. Some countries will be harder to convince than others.

You want the transitional government to be made of people who were "neutral" in the "conflict" ?!
You were allowed to form and organize and stay in Damascus through the Assad regime's rule?!
I'm not going to say anything about the regime's flag on all the posters and stickers but what about the massive flag in the background?! At least try to raise the flag that millions died or simply disappeared in order to raise!
As the old guard of the regime trying to embrace the goals of the revolution, at least put some effort to appear like you were somewhat against the atrocities committed!!

He has the mentality of the old regime and at this crucial time his rhetoric is not acceptable, Syrians paid for their freedom with their blood, they are not about to hand it to the old regime, we learned from Tunisia and other countries, the new government has to be very cautious on whom to deal with, they have to be very trustworthy, not like your guest
