I used to know a girl who rowed in the dragon boat races here. Akido has been shown on here from time to time, it has long been on my radar but never yet came across a copy. File next to Cymande, Osibisa and similar afro-rock fusion bands of the time. Randall Nelson has also talked about Tami Neilson a number of times, her songs sound quite showtune-y here, I could imagine them in a play or film. have a good week Steve

Hello Steve; Starting off with a cultural experience. O.R.B., a 60's psych pop sound is evident. Tami Neilson, Koko Taylor reborn with a touch of broadway. Akido, Afro funk with a 70's sound. Serving Blue Messiahs, guitar & slap drum rock. Kronos Quartet, perform Philip without scratching the Glass. take care, Tina & Pat!!~

Wow what a banger this one was. A real eye opener of new music I hadn’t heard before. Or perhaps more appropriatly a real ear opener. When this video started I thought I would only have 3 words for you Mr. Carlson. Orb, Orb and more Orb. Okay maybe thats more than three words but who’s counting. What a truly terrific band. Talk about channeling the soul of some 60s psychedelic. But they went beyond even that. Aside from the last two tracks which for some reason wasn’t my favorite, this album was incredible. But no it doesn’t stop there. I now have six words for you. Kingmaker, KIngmaker, give me some more damn Kingmaker. What a true surprise and a real gem. I can see where you say David Lynch but I also would add I could see this album being a soundtrack for any Tarantino film. Not to mention she has the voice to rival the legendary Shirley Bassey to contribute her own James Bond theme song for an upcoming film. I dont care what anyone says. For whatever reason I find this album Kingmaker and Tami Neilson to be absolutely compelling. Not in my wheelhouse but it absolutely is now. Much appreciate Mr.Carlson for the introduction.

Mark, the whole point of a food truck was to eliminate all the overhead of a self contained restaurant to serve great food at a better price. Wow has that concept changed! Cheaper to go to a restaurant now. Denver has a billion Mexican food trucks, most have a specific location they set up ever day. Tai Neilson is someone you would appreciate, maybe she tried too many styles but what a voice.

Got the O.R.B album a few weeks ago, still not sure, a bit disjointed, I love the heavier tracks like 'Can't Do That' but the Floyd influence just is not for me, never been a fan. Heard of Tami Neilson, but not got any of her albums, reminds me of the first album of Irish singer Imelda May before she sadly went from rockabilly to pop. Can I add a recommendation, which may be to your liking, the London band CROWS have a new album coming out in September but their first, self released EP although hard to find is excellent as are both the full albums, Silver Tongues & Beware Believers. ua-cam.com/video/OWmva0945M4/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/l0-u94OyrHs/v-deo.html

The term is pool boy, not pool old man. You are subverting a naughty movie cliché. Um, good for you?
Now for something a little more serious: the creation of life on this planet. According to the Bible, among the last things God did before He rested was create all the animals on our planet. It seems that Australia was the last place He worked on. It's like God was using leftover parts for Australia.
"Hmm, I've got a bill left, some fur, webbed feet, spurs, venom, and eggs." Tosses some crazy-looking thing together. "OK, got some spikes, more fur and eggs. Guess I'll put two egg-laying mammals here." Thus making Australia the only place with egg-laying mammals. "Got a pouch, long tail, two giant legs and two small ones. I'll have that tail work as a fifth leg. This guy can stand upright." Laughs imagining the creatures boxing each other with their little front legs. "And another pouch, big ol' honkin' black nose. Oh, I put a lot of those eucalyptus trees here. I'll make this tree hugger love the leaves."
On His rest day, He muses: "What a strange place. I put all those odd animals and deadly insects there. Environment is really tough too. Anyone who lived there would have to be tough. I bet people wouldn't even send prisoners there. They'd have to be mad to the max."
It's been said that the other gods in the multiverse think our God is a slacker and that He likes to hit the Cosmic Bong. It's been said that these gods say, "Look at all the crap he lets happen. Put down the CB and do some work." Notice the lowercase h in that quote. It reflects our God's lowly status among His peers. They even claim God got stoned before He populated Australia. Judging by the names of the animals, I think they could be right: platypus, kangaroo, a koala bear that's not a bear, a wombat that's not a bat, a Tasmanian devil that's not a devil, a King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and an O.R.B. (Overtly Ravenous Bunyip).
Yes, could be that God is a stoner. Which makes me wonder, if God created humans in His own image, are Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Tommy Chong the Three Most High Men?
Also, I know God is called Most High sometimes in the Bible. This could be considered another notch for the stoner claim.
Just some thoughts I share for fun. They're not meant to offend a minister's son. Now I'm gonna run.
Till next time, stay groovy, mate.

You are the MAN Roman. You have truly explained so many questions that I have had. God was a stoner, why didn’t I see this more clearly. If I had known this Sunday School would have been much more interesting especially as I can bring this revelation to light. No doubt my dad would have appreciated this as a dinner table topics. Yes, this is another chapter in your soon to be book Roman Explains The World, Deal With It!
