Built my jumper from 2 add a circuit leads that I picked up from Auto Zone. Started right up. Thanks to all the youtubers posting videos like this.
Thank you for sharing! You got me home tonight after the car would not start anymore, but I had ordered this cable just in case. What a lifesaver!!
Having the same problem here , what's the name of this wire
This video saved me 1300. I have a 2012 dodge caravan and this worked. This was the best 14.99 with free shipping with prime I have ever spent. Thank you.
Link ?
What is the name of cable in Amazon?
Wow 😂😂😂 I'm having a same problem.. ima try this I got stuck car didn't start i had to go to work
Part really worked. Dealership wanted @ $2,000, don't have the money for that right now. This wire is a temporary solution to help for a little bit and I almost cried when the van started!
the same guy who sells the cable sells a more long term part that is just as easy to install but is about $80
We're all in this together. 2 years after your post. I'm in the same situation.

Your video was a big help it just saved my stranded van
Saved my life! Really works. No more unhooking my battery every night
I fabricated this wire I plugged back in one spot over I killed my battery
My fuel pump kept running I removed both lower fuses from the jumper cord and it fixed it thank you so much
Thank you mannn your video has just saved me in middle of nowhere
Very helpful video and money saver too...thanks much
Thank you for the great info saved me time and money Barry
THANK YOU. This video saved me. I just used a jumper wire to test this and this is exactly my problem. I ordered the bypass from amazon for $15, and thankfully still have a warranty on mine that will cover this. So i guess i need to schedule that now.

Thank you very much! This worked for my 2011 Dodge caravan fixed for $16!!!
has it lasted?
Has it lasted?
Dude! Worked perfect! Thank you
Thanks for the video 👍👍👍
Heck yeah!!! That works!!!. You know what was the golden info for me? Move the lighter fuse OVER left where it’s on with the key only. 100% success. Thank you, sir👍
Thats fantastic. I'm glad it helped
Saved me some money, thanks!
I noticed in the last few months that sometimes my battery will be dead in the morning and when I was fishing one night I could hear something underneath the van continuing to run but it was so quiet I didn’t think it was the fuel pump because I am used to the General Motors fuel pump. Thank you so much I know that is what it is now, it’s definitely been getting stuck in the open and close position position
Thank man u a life saver
A 1,000 thank yous. 👍
Nice vid. I appreciate spreading this message about the failing relay. Mopar's official bypass kit is reserved exclusively for the Grand Cherokee and Ram recall and is on indefinite backorder even for them. Such a ridiculous situation for us GC owners. So I made a diy add-a-circuit bypass for $14, just a trip to an auto parts store and made a video exactly like yours. I had intermittent starting, made the bypass, and it worked for 6 months, but my battery eventually died entirely (tested at 50 cranking amps instead of 800). $200 battery, back in business. Then the bypass quit working. I don't even know why. I was left stranded in several places before I managed to find a junkyard with a few older GCs and managed to score a TIPM out of a 2011 for just $35. I took all my fuses and relays of my TIPM and put them in the salavaged one, then did a hard reset on the van (disconnect battery and leave terminals ziptied together overnight) for a temporary emergency fix. Once the salvaged TIPM was in, that worked as far as starting and driving while I figure out my original TIPM, but the radiator fan didnt work, so that was sketchy with overheating and no A/C. I watched some videos on actual fuel pump relay replacement and since I could drive and had had my TIPM out, I took the risk. I couldnt afford the $175 mail in service, so I ordered a new relay for less than $10 and a soldering gun with solder, took it apart and made a video with a few tips on how that went for me. It went well... but not really, but yeah? Honestly, it was still having trouble and I couldnt figure out why. It started, but 1% of the time, it really didnt want to. Fast forward 3 months and the van dies on side the interstate. No charge getting to the battery. It was the alternator. $300 later, she runs and runs well. The only issues now; one is that I have to leave the key in the ON position until the beeping stops before I can start her up. I believe this is simply priming the fuel pump as it is the next to give out. Also, many other electronic components have failed through the process including the passenger side sliding door lock actuator (jsapola can help you there) and the driver's door jamb (ajar) sensor. Good luck everyone. If you have any problems with your GC, send me a comment or message. I've likely been through the same issues you're having.
I replaced my computer added jumper bypass ran for 30mins. Then shut off. But Will run with starter fluid
@@OcalaAtvoffroad Put an ear near your rear passenger side wheel well with the key in the ON position. Do you hear the hum of the fuel pump at all?
@@JonEhBee i belive its not working. Cause it Will run with starter fuild
@@OcalaAtvoffroad You replaced the computer, do you mean the PCM or the TIPM? Either way, I think those need to be programed to each of the vehicle's specific components. It may be worth looking into a repair for what you removed because a dealership will charge you a lot for programming.
If the problem turns out to be your fuel pump, well Chrysler engineers are mean and they put the pump inside the gas tank. Replacing that means lifting the car and dropping the tank. Otherwise, it could be the bypass itself fused wired or installed incorrectly, the battery and alternator which can be tested for free, maybe even the belt. No codes or anything when you turn the key to "ON" 3 times fast?
Saved me a ton of money thanks man
Glad I could help
I'm going to have to try this out because after a year my van just started doing it again after a fuel pump replacement and fuse panel replacement
Dude you are the man. Thank you. I wish you would've said the part number or actual name .
Sorry about that, but I put a link to the guys website in one of the comments
Thank you Brudah!🤙😎
You are welcome. I put a link in the description to buy the wire needed to do this.
Thank you 🙏
GOD BLESS YOU❤️❤️❤️
that yellow thing at the top of the fuse box is the fuse puller.
I didn't know this until I saw another video hyping the vertical visions IC board fix.
I just order that wire and i think it will work because my problem sounds like your problem and i already replaced the fuel pump
question please; what is the extra red fuse for that comes with the kit? thanks.
Have a good time!!! It helped me one winter morning in Belarus, thank you!!! But there is a question!!! Will this jumper always be there??? Will it harm the electrical parts of the car? We do not have the opportunity to order such a thing, but I have seen how it is done with an ordinary wire, I did the same. Will an ordinary wire harm my car, or do I need one with a fuse???
I have a 2011 RAM 1500 Hemi and I tried the jumper but my fuel pump stays stays on even when truck is off and locked. Even if I put a fuse in the fuel pump fuse box slot without jumping it the fuel pump comes on. I’m having to remove the jumper entirely whenever I shut off the car or else fuel pump runs and drains my battery. Any help?
If the fuel pump keeps running do you remove the lower fuse from both ends or just the one that connect to the fuel pump?
So is the fuel relay thts integrated in the fuse box (tipm) on the line side of the circuit? Meaning there the relay is not on the load side?
My exact issue is my engine, cranks and cranks and cranks, but never starts was told it was the fuel pump so I had that replace it was almost 700 to get that done still have the issues so I’m assuming it’s the relay so I hope this would work and fix it .
Hello sr, your video save my weekend. I´m from Brazil, here I have a 2012 Town Country and some weeks ago, I had a problem with start engine. initially it was a glitch, one time or another. The Time passed and the problem got worse, and now the engine no start anyway. I made a baypass like your video, and the engine startet. But it is a temporary solution, right? What I have to do to solve it, definitely: - just change all the relays? Or is the problem in the circuit inside the fuse box? I´m sorry if my english is not so good🙏
hi, any insight into same issue but 1997 carvan?
Do I need to use the 4 fuses that come with it or will 2 of them work? Because using all 4 keeps the pump running & using 2 makes it start rough
My Caravan was cranking, but not even trying to turn over
I went home and got some copper wire, went back, did the by pass and now it’s trying to turn over but not quite making it.
Any ideas?
2011 town and country (same set up) I have the bypass already installed, and now I'm having starting problems. If I went out and started it every few hours it would not be a problem it seems to need to prime the fuel line after any extended time sitting. I checked the fuses on the relay and they are okay.
That same thing happened to me a while after running the bypass. I ended up replacing the whole TIPM. I did make a video on how to do that if you need.
I have to "prime" my fuel pump like 3 times before my truck will start. I already replaced the fuel pump and it still did it. Could this possibly fix?
How Can I open the door if I have a red point and I can use the alarm? I have two problems red point and I can open the car to check the battery Help me please
you fogot tool right there to take out fuse anyways thank u for share
I did that the problem whit starting was fix but I'm still hear my pup still running all night and what happen whit the red fuse what is for?
I have a problem with my 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. The passenger-side heater is stuck on high, even when it's turned off. Is this an expensive repair?
Can i connect to a different fuse so that i can have the rear cigarrett socket ON at all times when vehicle is off ?
Or does it have to be conected to the rear lighter fuse ONLY ?
Hope u understand my question
Please advice. God bless
I would guess as long as it's a key power only fuse, you should be fine. You would want to use a fuse that has constant power.
Did mine for free. Ran wire from one fuse to the other. Didn’t have time to wait on Amazon.
is it or can that be a permanent fix?
That’s not safe!! You want both contacts to be connected not just one single jumper from one fuse to another
You hear that clicking when he turns the key and after he starts the engine? That's the blend door actuator. It changes the air conditioning from hot and cold or a mix of the two. You just need a steady hand, a torx -- I think a t25 bit, and $25-40. It's located to the right of the gas pedal tucked up high in a little cavity. There's two screws holding it in. Make sure you crank your air to full cold and then spin the gear on the new actuator to match the old one before you install. That sound drove me crazy!!
It's a T20
another question, if I used the bypass, same as you did in this video, will it affect the amount of fuel? I mean, will the car consume more fuel than before?
No it will not consume more fuel,no change to entire system except jumping power from a weak solder/ joint in the factory tipm module fuse box assembly. Just a dipstick engineer
Earlier Chrysler minivans have a removable fuel pump relay, like our 2002. Bad idea to make it integral with the fuse/relay box. Not ideal to run with that jumper wire instead of a relay, since then current flows thru the key switch (I expect). Chrysler offers a relay kit where you intercept the wires underneath and attach the relay outside the box on the shock tower. Anyone handy can do similar using a standard 30A Bosch relay (ebay).
Do you know how long we should use the bypass for? I have the 2012 Grand Caravan.
I know right ? I wanna know to for how long we can used the wire for

Where can I order this part Amazon eBay what sure would like to heads up on this I have the same problem to my 2011 Town and Country can anyone help me I'm a disabled man and need my van to get to work please hurry
Hello I would like to know what is the name of the cable I want to putout am having problems with my van
He does not sell on Amazon anymore, but here is the link to his website.

Its called "add-a-circuit" they're about 7 bucks each and you need two.
I did this last summer installed a similar jumper and my 2011 caravan started working again, but now that it’s a lot colder, it would not start again, usually having hard starting issues in the morning. I needed to try to start it at least more than 10x but as soon as it starts up, it will be fine the whole day, any idea? Pls help!
I also had that problem after a while. At that point, you either need to hard wire in an external relay, which I do not have a video for, or you will need to replace the entire TIPM (I do have a video for that). But you can get the TIPM on eBay or Amazon for around $120.

My van does not start without jump start. the battery is fine and the alternator was changed. Every time I turn it off it does not start. The battery dies and voltage drops very fast. Could you please help me?
Did you have any luck figuring this out? I put a brand new battery in that was charged to 13 volts and it immediately dropped to 12.1
What's it called??
is it a permanent fix?
why is this fix only temporary?
Any ideas i replaced computer still didnt run put in jumper wire ran for 30mins. Now only runs with starter fluid. Any ideas
New computer, if you mean tipm, should be programed by a dealer.
@@JonEhBee yes was programmed
Well reppaced computer fuel pump and fuse box still wont run found that fuel pump rely bypass had no voltage Dded jumper wire now runs great
That's exactly what happened to my 2012 Town and Country. The dealership asked for $1,700 to replace the whole fuse box, but the mechanic cost me $250 = ($170 to check everything ) + ($ 65 labor cost ) + ( $15 for the bypass cable). Because I don't have much mechanic knowledge, I paid the $250. I can't start my car with the remote (it starts and stops on its own), but I can open and close the doors and trunk normally. I don't know why it turns off if I use the remote! Does anyone know the solution?
Thank you, Matt, for your valuable video.
I'm having the exact start up and shut problem with my 2013 town and country 🤔. Any help guys?
The question is where can you buy it 🤔
Do you know how long we should use the bypass for? I have the 2015 Durango and only the 2011-2013 have been recalled so far.
I've had it as a permanent fixture in my tipm for over a year, although I also opened my tipm and soldered in a new relay about 6 months ago. I've had a bypass burn up, battery went dead, alternator went out and it all could've been because of the bypass but I'll never really know for sure.
Today is my day one so let's see how long it lasts.
@@markrose0710 Still working for you?
@@eLearnDev It still works. I had no issues with engine starts.
@@markrose0710 Thanks for taking the time to reply. Have a wonderful day.
Great Idea but my fuel pump wont turn off what would you do in this situation?
Watch the video again
Mine too the fuel pump won't turn off
Was it the lower fuse in on the rear cig lighter or the one for fuel pump so it stops running all the time ?
@@bigtrev7103 did you ever figure it out ? Having same issue
Did you ever figure it out ? Having same issue
at 3:00 at 12 oclock that yellow thing is actually a fuse puller
If i do this does the car still strat remotely?
I can't say yes or no to that. Mine is not remote start, so I really am not sure
Thank u for ur answer
I have another question
The bypass method is temporary or i can run with it mush as i want ?
@Ghassen Maalal If you use the fused wires like I did in the video, It will run for good as much as you want (pretty much). You could just use a non fused jumper wire. If you do it that way you will need to change it out periodically.
M21 is the spot you want to run this if you don't want the box to catch fire
𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚗𝚘𝚒𝚜𝚎?
The clicking is one of the HVAC actuators
Yeah, it is called a "blend door" actuator. It is notorious for clicking when your A/C knob is cranked to full cold, which is all the way to the left. My GC had this issue and all I did was leave it one click from full cold. Then the problem went away on its own after a year or so and full cold doesn't click anymore.
full discharge of the battery in 2-3 weeks ..
i guess this would work but i would not advise bypassing the fuel pump relay . the relay is there for a reason . this was a bad design should be a recall . again stupid engineers hard at work . replacing that module is way more then 1k . we did kind of same thing but installed a relay inline . interesting video
There is a recall, just not for grand caravan or t&c or most other vehicles with the same pentastar/tipm combo. They don't even sell bypass kits to anyone outside the recall last I checked. I really WOULD advise this because it's the only way for most people to resolve the issue without forking over $1,000+. I soldered in a new relay for $10 but that only works for people who are handy with a solder gun and have the time. Agree, bad design but I've had this bypass installed even after I totally fixed it and it has worked flawlessly for at least 6 months.
@@JonEhBee So you fixed this problem, and you are still using the bypass? Just curious why....im using this fix on a newly bought 2012 town and country that has this issue. I have the 59 dollar vertical vision fix coming in the mail. Either way its nice knowing that the person before me got rid of this van for this reason. Loaded up touring L with all bells and whistles still working perfectly.
@@nothanks1627 I'm still using it for no reason at all, really. I'm sure I could remove it now that I've replaced the relay.
@@JonEhBee where is the relay actually located. Mine keeps randomly sticking closed and draining the battery. Unless we hear it and pop the fuse out and back in.. I have no problem soldering a new one in.
@@6774Bambam you have to take the whole tipm apart... There are videos on it.
