  • In this episode we finally reach Gonarezhou National Park after an intense but terrific track. Check the previous episode to see us wild camping!
    We experience the magic of Nyavasikana campsite and then cross from the South of the Park to the Northern Central region and spend the night camping on an epic rock formation.
    The Adventure inside Gonarezhou is about to start!

      Thanks so much Charles! That was one of our main goals - get the name of the Park out their because it is truly spectacular! Just hope that when the number return to the park everyone will respect and look after the park (we love the wild freedom you are given in the park and never want that taken away)

    Gonerazou is one of the most beautiful, unspoiled wilderness reserves in Zimbabwe. There are so many stunning places to visit here. People here are friendly and hospitable. Zimbabwe boasts an average 3000 hours of sunshine each year. Welcome to all of you and we hope you enjoy your stay.

    What an awesome trip I want to do Zimbabwe with my family to.
    When you say "the most adventurous road" do you mean breathtaking or a very difficult and rough road?

      Zimbabwe is definitely a country we should all explore!!
      We underestimated the time from the start of the dirt road to Gonarezhou by about 6-7 hours! A 4x4 will be the safer option but meant adventurous more in the sense of feeling a bit lost, so far from any town and it feels like it could be a road used twice a month 😁 The scenery was spectacular!!

    How does one assemble a convoy of friends to overland in Africa?
    I want to plan a three-month tour through sub-Saharan Africa in a few years, and I don't really want to "solo-vehicle" explore with my family the first time I do so.

    Guys as interesting as your trip has been, driving through and camping on private/ tribal land without permission is not clever and makes life difficult for the rest of us. There are perfectly good district roads to Mabalahuta and into Gonarezhou.

      We greeted an were met only by friendliness at every social interaction with the locals - they were extremely welcoming to all of us, why does it make life difficult for you? Who are the rest of you?

      I walked from Harare to Gonerazou, to raise funds for wildlife conservation and experienced nothing but warm Zimbabwean hospitality everywhere I went. I think how you treat others has a lot to do with how they respond to you.
