Mine is Navy Blue with brushed stainless steel. Very attractive and fits my motif perfectly. I'm excited to get it. Additionally, I bought the dough blade and a a 6x6 French fry disk. The total for those extras was around $70.00. You mentioned this was a top pick by Consumer Reports. It was also rated best by America's Test Kitchen that tested about 30 machines that were priced dirt cheap up to $350.00. It beat out the Breville 12 cup sous chef processor for top spot. Second year in a row for this top tier Cuisinart. From all the research I did, this is where I landed, too. And I'm elated by the color choices.
I've been on the hunt for detailed review videos of this food processor and I'm SOOO glad that I came across yours! Watching your face light up when you were shredding the cheese made me even more excited to get mine haha. Thank you so much for such a helpful video!! :)

I'm planning to film it next week, so I am going to do my best to get it edited and posted ASAP! I thought this size would have more difficulty with smaller batches, but I've actually been pretty impressed for the most part. I think it depends on what you plan to process in it, but I like having the extra room for larger batches and a little extra HP in the motor compared to the smaller versions :)

Have been mulling the idea of purchasing a food processor for some time now and have zeroed in on the custom 14. America's test Kitchen did a product testing of many food processors and their most highly recommended was the custom 14. They use it virtually every time when making dough of any kind and this is what we're interested in doing too. Have you tried using your processor to make dough for bread, pies, pizza, etc etc ? If so, what do you think ?
I just started testing dough in it last week, and my shortcrust pastry came out great! I haven't tested it for pizza or bread dough yet, but that is on my list of things to try in the next couple weeks before I film my full review. I have a hard time imagining the blade forms gluten better/the same as a dough hook in a stand mixer, but I still want to test it because I trust ATK!

The post for the blades were similar to my old model so I saw how to click on..but it took me a while to click off. They should hire you to redo manual and pictures.
Just wanted to catch you up on my thoughts and progression to becoming a subscriber. I was on a freeze-drying channel where this woman mentioned “candied” when talking about her oranges from another state. I thought “what is she talking about?” and searched for candied oranges. Found your video on making those, thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and kept thinking about how thorough you were about the description. I almost left after giving it a thumbs up, but something made me check out your channel. OMG! All the recipes and goodies in those thumbnails really had me almost hooked. ALMOST… then I saw this review on the food processor. I thought “I’ve been meaning to look into one, because slicing my fruit for my freeze-dryer is a little labor intensive. So let’s see what the Floral Apron has to say. LOL! I LOVED how you left in all the foibles with trying to get it to turn on, and the on-screen notes. I thought here’s a Tuber I just have to follow.. plus there’s all those baking videos I’m sure show so much that other Tubers cut out. Before running away, I saw the words “6 month review” and being the dummy I can be I went back searching for it thinking it was the 6 month review of this processor (forgetting that I had just noted this only came out a few weeks ago). Imagine my Face-Palm 🤦 when I realized my error. Anyway, devoted subscriber here! I won’t “see” or hear your blog posts, but I will be watching more older vids and patiently waiting for new UA-cam vids! 😍
I did, especially because my Breville toaster oven is my favorite kitchen appliance! But I went with the Cuisinart for a few reasons. 1) Price-the Breville was about twice the price at $500. 2) Footprint-the Sous Chef comes with a large bowl, a small bowl and a bunch of accessories in a storage case. That's great if you have a use and the storage space for them, but I wasn't sure I'd need them all and would rather use my cabinet space for other things. 3) Extras-I didn't need any of the extras that came with the Breville over the Cuisinart. The timer on the unit itself is kinda fun, but I'm always there to monitor the processing anyway, so I doubt I'd really use it. There are more failure points with a complicated machine, and I felt most comfortable having just two manual buttons to work with. I haven't had a need for any of the additional accessories with the Cuisinart, so for me personally, that extra storage case would just be a waste of space. I love that the Breville has a 30-year warranty on their motor over Cuisinart's 5-year, but I still know people have had their Cuisinart food processors for decades. Overall, it made more sense for me to save $200-$250 and go with the Cuisinart, but the Breville might be a better choice for you! Hope this helps :)
I read the manual and it is terribly written, I had the same problem as you the machine would not turn on, nowhere in the booklet it shows you how to assemble everything, I also did not see the blades and explanations how to assemble them until I got on your video to find out, this made me not excited about this machine almost sent it back to amazon, I might give it a try based on your video but it was very frustrating at first, what was demeaning from company is they spent a page of how to safely unpack the machine from the box, which gave important directions like "Lift the foam block" furiously a step on its own, yet nothing on how to assemble blades or make the machine work, you have definitely figured it out by yourself, but why>>its made to be frustrating and why we are left to be guessing? Did they miss a page or two in that booklet?

I also thought it was a little odd that there were such detailed instructions on removal but nothing on assembly. I did not know those existed, so I just went down the rabbit hole researching them! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Cuisinart makes an adjustable slicing disc that is compatible with the Custom 14. The one on their website is for the Core 13 model, which has a different attachment method :(
I'm in my 70s and have owned a lot of appliances - kitchen and otherwise. The food processor is great, but the instruction booklet is the worst I have ever seen. The instruction video link is a useless 404, but can be accessed through UA-cam. A distracting guacamole recipe is intertwined with the instructions on yhe video. I had to figure out the tab on the back of the feed tube myself. I sent a question to Cuisinart through "Contact us" on the website. Never got an answer (5 months, so far). All very disappointing from a highly regarded brand.
I feel the exact same way-I cannot believe the attention to detail in the instructions for getting the food processor out of the box but the lack of detail on how to assemble for it actual use!
I'm happy with it! Still need to do a little more testing of different foods before I can put together my full review, though. The only partial complaint I have so far is that it doesn't do *really* small batches well, but that's kind of what I expected with a larger food processor bowl. I've used it quite a bit for my muffin pan cheesecake recipes (in my Shorts playlist if you want to see it in action), and that's about as small of a batch as I would go.

So you’ve done and said everything that wasn’t the problem and then even when you correctly assembled it you didn’t say people are putting this on backwards that’s why it’s not startingyou could summarize all this and maybe 10 second video
I agree that that could be a really useful video if my *sole* purpose for making this video was to show people how to turn this food processor on, but my goal was to show the *entire* unboxing and first use. I titled the video as such-and even included chapters so you can skip around to the most relevant parts for you! I had no idea when I was filming my (unscripted!) trouble shooting that people would be watching the video solely to learn how to turn it on. It was only after filming that I realized other people also probably had issues with getting it to turn on, so I did my best to include clarifying remarks and on-screen help in post-production. I'm glad you were still able to figure it out with the help of my video after also having difficulty yourself :)

Is there a smaller bowl attachment available?
There are smaller models of Cuisinart food processors, but the Custom 14 only has the one size of bowl. Hope that helps!
Did you consider the Breville 16 Sous Chef as well? What made you choose this one?
