PSP and DS era is magical, the UI and hardware was ahead of it's time Most of the games are so memorable in their own way, it's such a great time I cherished the most
Seriously, I miss this generation of handheld gaming. The crazy amount of support these two systems got was insane. Looking back makes me wish that the 3ds & vita got the same support...especially the vita.
I wish we could go back in time sometimes haha. The PSP still rocks and I’m sure the DS does too (never had one before). We’ll never get such consumer friendly multimedia devices ever again. Sick video as always man and Merry Christmas!
Same, I really miss browsing Fry’s electronics for PSP movies and games back in the day. The PSP is still a beast of a handheld. Thanks bro, merry Christmas to you and your family!
I still have my ds lite from when i was maybe 3 years old. I spent most of that time with it playing Mini Meyhem, this Phinneas and Ferb game, or sending black screens to my sister on picto chat. I eventually got Explorers of Time used from a Gamestop After getting an r4 card recently, I'm only just exploring the extent of the ds library. Been spending most of my time playing pokemon white cause i remember really wanting the gen 5 games when i was little.
Man I’ve been playing my ds lite a lot lately, got a Ezflash and type c mod on it. And I’ve been looking at a psp after seeing this I might have to invest in one now
Interestingly the GPS software for the PSP works if you run it through a PSP emulator. I wouldn't use it instead of Google Maps on my phone since the software is very outdated now but it's kind of cool to see how much of the hardware PPSSPP can emulate.
Still miss playing Metal Gear Solid on PSP 3000 and Simpson game on DS. Now I play SNES (Metal Warriors) on my Android cellphone. ~ Metal Warriors is a great game. I highly recommend it!!!
If Sony really makes a new handheld, it shouldn't just be a portable PS5, that's just not enough with all those handheld PCs, probably also a Microsoft handheld, the Switch 2 having a 3 to 4 year head start, the Switch 2 8th gen level power being more than enough for 9th gen games and probably even 10th gen with AI upscaling, and Switch 2 having backwords compatibility with Switch 1 games
GBA era would like to have a word with you too. It gave you much of the best previous generations (GB, GBC) in one device (as long as it wasn't a GBA micro). Granted there isn't one for a Game Gear or Atari Lynx or Turbo express to take the actual physical media. Though of course emulation exists for them on portable devices 3DS era would like a word with you too, it offers the best of DS and its own library in one with only the compromise of some compatibility with the DS games that used the GBA port And the PSP did NOT actually deliver quite PS2 levels of quality on the go, it was noticeably toned down a bit, its more accurate to call it Dreamcast levels of quality (as well as controls), which is close but not quite ps2 levels. Its my thoughts from my own experiences with my own PSPs (and i own 4 of them, 1000, 2000, and 2 3000s) Meanwhile the Sega Nomad and Turbo Express 16 are grouchy about the switch taking and doing their ideas about having a portable console and doing it better than they could (both of them played their own console's library of games on the go and could output to a TV and are handhelds) Unlike other noteworthy handhelds like the Atari Lynx and Game gear (there may of been 3rd party accessories that could but without mods they 'probably can't do that) And the PS Vita is upset at sony for neglecting its library of 1st and 3rd party exclusives and forcing it to fail by basically more or less abandoning it and leaving it to be the lesser but portable version of ps3, and ps4 games to offer a choice for its library.
@@FranchisePlayyer i saw them and own them though not all of the handhelds mentioned. For its time though GBA was pretty much king. Though the only other really notable ones other than the Game Gear and Lynx was the Neo Geo pocket (unlike the others it actually has great battery life). That and the Wonderswan (which is for those that are native to japan or willing to import and learn japanese or emulate it
We’ll never get anything like the PSP or DS again. They were super consumer friendly devices. Companies realized that charging for subscriptions would make much money in the long run.
Sorry to break it to YOU, but "bEtTeR GrApHiCs" doesnt mean BETTER. Constant updates, patches, subcription bs. None of that garbage was on the DS/PSP so no, it WON'T be better.
I love this generation of handhelds, both have such great libraries!
The PSP and DS libraries are insanely good!

Imagine if the Vita even had half of the support the PSP had

Two decades ago....holy crap dude...I have to sit down..
I know man it’s hard to believe

The r4 card is such a good way to explore the library, nice to hear you’re enjoying some games you missed out on!
Man I’ve been playing my ds lite a lot lately, got a Ezflash and type c mod on it. And I’ve been looking at a psp after seeing this I might have to invest in one now
The DS lite is great, but 100% worth picking up a PSP if you can get one

That’s pretty awesome, I might have to emulate the software just to see what it’s like

~ Metal Warriors is a great game. I highly recommend it!!!
I’ll have to check Metal warriors out, thanks for the recommendation!
I lost both my PSPs 😔 and all of my gear.
Dang sorry to hear that man

It would be cool if Sony made a new handheld that has standalone games along side being able to play ps5 titles, but I doubt they will do that
How can one download music?
i used to download music on my laptop and transfer them to my psp as a kid, if you have a PS Vita, it’s definitely worth a shot
You can use a laptop or even transfer it from a ps3

GBA era was my introduction to handhelds and I loved it. I did a video on how great the 3DS and Vita era was a couple weeks back

got both now fo emulation sold it of years ago.
Sorry to break it to you but in the future better handhelds are gonna come out im not saying the ds or psp are bad but there just behind time😌
Well that really depends on your definition of better, but yeah some of the newer handhelds are super impressive

I generally think the ds has the best jrpg but the psp hade some good ones.
They both have some great jrpgs
