    Great to have someone who explains and teaches remapping because trying to find tutorials else where is like looking for a needle in a hay stack! Or they want you to pay them 4 grand for software so you can load generic maps onto people's cars for their company!

      Man it’s simple. You don’t get any tutorials because remaping it’s difficult. You need to study and try to understand the things by your own. That’s why nobody gives information about chip tunning for free. If you go to college, you pay. You have remap courses. Take one, and pay. And after you can remap.
      Regards

    I think that the value written in each field is the fuel quantity in miligrams and not percentage.
    On my 101hp 1,9 TDI PD Golf 4 on the bottom right of my map it goes only up to 66. At 5000 RPM with 100% TPS it only shows 34.
    That would be a large change if i edited it to 100 (which is 100mg of fuel).
    What i dont understand is that in my map when i am in the line of 100% TPS the fuel decreases with increasing RPM. I would think that it should stay the same.
    This could be a first start to create more power i think.

      That's just a safety limit to influence the average driver. By reducing the fueling it encourages them to change gear instead of chasing the rev limiter.

    Guys, advice required.. I've always been interested in getting into tuning.. after learning about the MPPs earlier I looked up the best one and had bought a MPPs v18 ready2go ... Got chatting with the seller and he advised it'll be no use to me due to my ECU will be password locked. So what tool or knowledge do I need? If I go get tuned, how do they get in? If a guy comes to my home? How does he do it in the back of a van? Any advice is much appreciated. Cheers

    I am a final year engineering student and my graduation project is ECU's. The company that I work for is a combustion engine
    manufacturer. The production line contains a test bench to make sure that the engine is functioning in a proper way and my
    project is within this section. The test bench is for many diffrent engines and for every diesel engine the test bench operator must bring the adequate ECU so that the engine can start, and for that there is a lot of ECU's and a lot of lost time. My goal is to regroup all those ECU's in only one. After some research on the internet I found something called universal ECU. But I do want to know if this ECU can support all engines? Or it's very dependent on the engine's manufacturer, and if it's the case how to adapt it. I also found that the ECU's algorithm is based on MAPs. So can diffrent engines have similar MAP's?
    I would be very grateful for nay reply, any feedback would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you very much in advance.

    I still don't quite understand this thing about throttle response.
    How can a computer control the power based on my pedal pressure, if my throttle is connected to the pedal with a cable?
    I would understand if it were a servo throttle...
    Now, let's say that computer can still decide on how much fuel it will add based on airflow caused by opening the throttle. How can remap improve this? If computer adds more fuel, there won't be enough air to burn it because the throttle is not opened enough. Am I missing something?
    Or is the computer also controlling valve timing based on airflow and somehow restricts the amount of air entering the engine regardless of the throttle opening (maybe doesn't allow as much as could actually enter)?
    I would like some help with understanding this. Thanx!

    • @vPerformance
      @vPerformance  3 роки тому

      This is all about electronic fuel injection. Cable throttle does not apply

    • @DataLog
      @DataLog 3 роки тому

      @@vPerformance Ok, but then if you change your wish map to inject more fuel, you must change your servo throttle settings to allow for more air.
      What difference does it make if you could just press your gas pedal to the ground and ask for more fuel? (I get that ECU may not open the throttle as quickly as you want it, because it determines fuel injection based on RPM)
      But then, shouldn't it also work on cable throttle?
      I don't really have to care about the wish map since I could just change MAF map and Torque map to increase fuel injection at lower rev ranges and lower air ranges, to give me more power. Also, I'm not sure, but I think my car (Skoda Fabia 6Y, 1.2 HTP 12v) also has the throttle position sensor even though the throttle is connected with a cable, so it may as well have a wish map too.
      Did I miss something?

    • @vPerformance
      @vPerformance  3 роки тому

      Think of the pedal like a percentage modifier. If your other maps allow for 55 mg of fuel. At 100% pedal you get 100% fuel. Sure, the car might not have enough air to burn it all though, so you'll get smoke out the back and unburnt fuel. You could change so you get max fueling at 50% pedal if you like. You can adjust the feel of the throttle, but not its limits. Make sense?

    • @DataLog
      @DataLog 3 роки тому

      @@vPerformance Yes, I understand that. I'm pretty familiar with processing information from sensors and coding all kinds of EPROM chips.
      I'm not a mechanic, however, so I'm trying to get more info on what exactly the car measures and what it can control.
      I checked for my case and found out that even though my car doesn't have servo controlled throttle, it does have a sensor on the pedal (probably some kind of rotary encoder or potentiometer).
      I asked my previous question brcause from what I've researched, wishmaps (which rely on gas pedal sensor) usually go well over the maximum stroke fuel limit anyways. But the air map and torque map limits it based on their own parameters.
      So I'm trying to learn how this works exactly and since I can code EPROM chips, I wanted to intercept signals from these sensors and trick the stock ECU into thinking it's at 3000rpm when it's at 1500 to allow for more fuel.
      But I want to do this correctly and I would make my own software (for external chip) that would compare stock and custom map and recalculate relations between them in order to trick the stock ECU to behave like a custom map. I can't trick it into giving more fuel per stroke than it's programmed max, but I could trick it to give more at different rev ranges (even stock ECU could allow for more horsepower if there is more fuel per stroke at higher than peak rev range I suppose).
      I was wondering if you know about some elaborate guide that explans all the sensory connections to the ECU and all the decisions that ECU makes based on those sensors (i. e complete input output diagram)
      And which software would be the best to joke around with petrol engine and supports Skoda?
      Thanx!
      You already helped alot.

    Hi, thanks for the videos, I think I have seen all of them, I recently remapped my 110bhp Leon to 140bhp with Vagsuite. Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm still trying to get my head around this. At 1:32 minutes on the video you say at 2000rpm with the throttle down at 16 percent the peddle is requesting 9% of the fuel. Do you not mean 9 milligrams of fuel (after all its the IQ in milligrams being supplied which is shown on the Z axis) The reason I ask is because my Leon's stock map at full throttle around 5000rpm has a maximum of 55 milligrams of fuel and that's its highest value across the whole map. I would be excited to think its value is a percentage because then I still have 45% of power that I've not been using but sadly I think increasing the Z axis to 100 would only give me about 10% more power.

    • @vPerformance
      @vPerformance  8 років тому +5

      Sharp observation! Yes, the map was showing 9mg of fuel, but I was working on a map where the maximum was 100mg of fuel. It just made it easier to explain. You can request more fuel by changing the injector duration maps, but working out duration-to-mg ratios will be the tricky part. Basically, longer durations with the injector open means more fuel will go in. I doubt you can measure it though, best you can do is estimate.
