Now that you know who killed Joffrey, if you pay attention during the wedding, Olenna comes up to Sansa, to express her condolences regarding Robb and Catelyn.
We see her play with Sansa’s necklace, just like she did to Margaery at 11:38, and in the next scene there’s a crystal missing from the necklace.
Little Finger gave the necklace to the fool, for him to offer it to Sansa, and Olenna poured the poison that was in the crystal in Joffrey’s cup.
You know, back then I hadn't seen the end of Breaking Bad yet.
I was baffled by the clumsy attempt to poison Gus Fring with ricin. I said: That's stupid, it doesn't work that way! To do it properly, you should have the opportunity, the poison in a way that it can't be located on you after and ideally before the deed, a way out and plausible deniability.

Ellaria isn’t Oberyn’s sister 😂luckily she’s just his lover/paramour/mistress, they have a number of daughters together
Princess Elia was his sister, the names are super close
In the books Ellaria has 4 daughters with Oberyn: Elia, Doreah, Obella and Loreza Sand. Oberyn has another 4 daughters with other women: Obara, Nymeria, Tyene and Sarella. Oberyn has 8 daughters in total, all bastards, and they are known as the Sand Snakes. I won't mention anything else in order to avoid spoilers.
Now you know it was Lady O, if you go back and watch the wedding episode, you can see when she takes the poisoned stone from Sansa's necklace :)
Locke didn't have to worry about taking his vows and being labeled a deserter from the Night's Watch if he found Bran and took off. As we saw in the first episode, the sentencing and execution of deserters is carried out by the Warden of the North. And that's now Roose Bolton, his boss.
Lord Commander of the Nights watch has that right as well..
The irony is that the Night's Watch have a myth that Wildlings drink from the skulls of their enemies, but then it turns out it's members of the Night's Watch that end up doing that. It's meant to show how bad the Watch is, since it's made up of murderers and rapists and the WIldlings are just people. The point gets lost on the show because they made the WIldlings much worse than they are in the books.
Yes, the wildlings are pretty awful in the show. I'll come back to this in a later episode.

I'd just like to say... I love this channel. I may or may not have cleared all of the GoT playlist in two days, including this vid. Keep up the wonderful work, you two are delightful! ♥
"Why is this so sad" because both Jamie and Brienne are starting to have some type of feelings for each other (remember that they've lived some fucked up shit together and have various points of connection, like the oath or Brienne being the only one Jamie told the truth to about why he killed the king). And from the way Jamie said goodbye, they're parting with the unlikelihood of seeing each other again.
Because I didn’t have HBO at the time, I binged Game of Thrones as the DVDs were released. I can’t imagine watching them live and then having to wait a week for the next episode. Another benefit from the DVDs was getting the inside scoop via the commentary tracks. I think that’s what I’m going to miss the most from the DVD era. FYI, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey are great friends in real life. Totally loving watching these with you. The road trip of Brienne and Pod is delightful, and it’s sweet that Ser Pounce is going to make it on the character board! Peace …

jaime and brienne the most precious duo in the show in my opinition believes in him and wants to help him, even going against cersei because his loves his little brother so much) (jaime, podrick-> keeping him from harm by sending him with brienne) and that was just this episode. So far we have seen him confident, angry, sad, a bit happy, concerned etc.
yup yup yup. She named the sword Oathkeeper for him, he hates being called oathbreaker even though he'd never tell anyone. It really hit him when she named it that. Great relationship.

I think Jaime is pretty familiar with emotions. I'd say he's one of the more emotional characters (although he does "go away" inside sometime; the only mention of this in the show seems to be the advice he gives to Brienne about Locke's men).
Oh, the actor who plays Tomin also played one of the Lannister boys the Kar-Starks murdered.
Olenna is an amazing matriarch; she's probably taught Marjery everything.😉

Secondly if you think george has a concrete ending in mind then you haven't been paying attention, george definitely has considered the idea of mad dany and probably still does, given how dany in ASOS was very clearly being set up for it or at least a close call to madness, but he has reduced theose elements drastically either because he doesn't want to do it, or wants it to be gradual, or maybe much less straight up evil, or just wants to hide it

fun fact: to this day we still don't know who definitively killed Joffery in the books, i don't know if GRRM was gonna reveal it to be the Tyrells and Littlefinger, plus in the books, Joffery died because he took a piece of Tyrion's pie and choked on it, leaving many to theorize that he was never supposed to die that day.
I don't think it will be revealed unless it's gonna play into the plot

The family loves one another and sticks together even better than the Starks, they have honor but its not so rigid and black and white in nature that they doom themselves by refusing to pivot, and they're willing to play the politics game with the most capable leading
The Starks wouldn't bend in honor or will and the Lannister's scheme against each other as much if not harder than they do against their enemies

Just to clarify incase it's not clear, the white walkers and their undead foot soldiers are addressed differently and look different. The Ice creatures are White walkers (The Others in the books) the dead they raise are called wights. That was very unclear the first time I watched the show!

She was married to Rhaegar Targaryen, son of Aerys and brother of Daenerys and Viserys. Rhaegar was the heir apparent. It isn't very clear whether Elia loved Rhaegar, but it was a good match politically.

Just an FYI that I read somewhere that scene in 4/Ep1 we all thought was non consensual its wasnt...it was bad directing..apparently lots of internet debates back in the day....😊

@@loriwilliams6670 I didn't have internet then either (except at the library) and didn't have satellite TV either, so no access to Sky. I didn't watch any GOT live until, I think, Season 7. I got the DVDs when they came out. But I'm weird, I read all the reviews, the comments, the pre-production rumours, saw those snatched photographs of filming. And I downloaded the podcasts and listened to about ten of them, even though I wouldn't see the shows they were discussing until November.
But there was a lot of discussion about that scene in the sept. And many others!

Poor Tommen. I genuinely think he could have been a great king if there weren’t so many corrupt influences around him. He was genuinely a good kid with empathy, willing to learn wisdom and do good. Sure he turned out a bit weak willed, but he was just a naive kid with not enough time to learn better. He just needed the time to learn and gain confidence and with the proper guidance he probably would have been one of the best kings they had in ages.

Locke was sent to castle black to hunt down Bran and Rickon. Theon didn't know where they were but made a guess that they would be going to Jon. That's why Locke is there at the wall. Roose Bolton gave the order since they are true born sons of Ned and true heirs to Winterfell and a threat to his title and hold of Warden of the North.

Yeah, that was basically a scene where Cersei was raped by Jaime, but it isn't treated that way. Cersei is angry with Jaime, but basically just because she wants him to kill Tyrion. (And for being a prisoner and getting his hand chopped off, I guess. I imagine she'd be really furious if she knew the whole story of that.) I know the show didn't mean for it to be viewed as a rape scene, but it sure looked like it. I mean, just sex by Joffrey's body tarnishes Jaime a bit after a period of the viewers coming to like him, but not irrevocably.
several years before GOT the actors who played Ghilly and Gendry along with a young Nicholas Hoult and the girl from Maze Runner starred in a british show called SKINS where they play a group of partying teenage friends. it's a drama. might be interested in checking out. might not be something you do on the channel. but its a really good show. the first 2 seasons in particular.
