I really liked that this pod was made in mind with testing if a commander is actually viable. It seems really apparent that most of your videos where you ask those questions are just pods where people bring whatever deck without knowing what their opponents brought, (which is more true to the competitive nature of tournaments) but it is nice to see how a commander does against the highest level commanders. The idea is to see if the commanders hold up in the format as a whole, not as a fringe competitor.
I like the new hand intro: no need for you to read out the cards in the opening hands, much more interesting to hear about the decks themselves! Thumbs up for the change 👍
On the topic of ad placement in the videos, I think having a mid-video ad between games has a pretty smooth feeling to it. I'm just one guy, but I think that for multi-game videos, an ad between games makes sense, and for single-game videos, a pre-game ad would be sensible, so as not to break up the flow of the game. That being said, excellent content as always and I greatly appreciate the work the PwP team does to bring us so many hours of enjoyment.
After years of watching cEDH, for some odd reason this is the game that made me jealous and want to play direly. If the cost of entry and the lack of players in a 50mi radius wasnt so bad i probably would. Love PwP and all that you all do! p.s. Peter has to be one of the best additions to the PwP filmed team! I am in love with his decks and playstyle.
I think Kodama of the East Tree + Shakashima with Aesi in the 99 is a better Simic landfall shell. Tatyova isn't a "may" ability and that can cause problems.
I play tatyova cedh, ashaya quiron ranger, Kodama, tireless provisioner/scuteswarm, and Simic growth chamber are the two combos that I run, for the deck to work you need to play very controlling to get the combos out. I love my deck
Ive been seeing people using derevi more aggresive comboey using the one ring and would love to see a video like this surrounding a proactive derevi list
I can see why people are saying are saying Tatyova is not as viable (lately I have not seen not of simic decks on cedh channels) but like a Kaalia deck I see it's still best to remember it's still in the game as the reasons why they were good still become relevant.
I love my Tatyova, and she got some busted starts in her (I won on t2 through interaction multiple games) but there are too many nongames. Like this 3rd game were she did nothing at all... Game 1 and 2 were just busted games from 2 decks, can't blame Tatyova for that. But that game 3 was a horrendous showing. He got basically ignored for 3 turns from Mike and Alex (Mike destroying Alex' Stuff, Alex trying to rebuild) and Nabeel didn't do anything. And when Nabeel finally did try something, Mike already drew somany cards, he couldn't get through the interaction.
Yeah the others were playing too fast. I like Tatyova, and would be interested to see a redemption match as landfall has been a mechanic that I am having more fun with.@@NINtastisch
Loved the Triple threat, I know others are going to complain about the ad in the middle, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest - revenue is what makes this channel possible, please keep producing the good stuff.
Didn't seem like Tatyova had the best draws, also in general I feel like lands that provide mulitple land drops (ie fetches), will always be a lot better than creatures or other cards that do that. Tatyova did draw cards quite a lot, but what did those cards do for them?
This Tatyova deck just felt so slow. My straight up Pauper version draws cards at an insanely quicker rate and has plenty of things to do through interaction. I'm interested in this decklist to see why someone could sit and do nothing for two or three turns in a row like that.
This week: who will win vs tymna/kraum, tymna/rana, kinnan, or K'rrik? Next video catch us as we see who wins: Tymna/kraum, tymna/thrasios, Rog/Sal, or kinnan!
I dont know if it was part of a deal to put the ad in the middle of the video now rather than in the beginning. If it is, I'm glad you're able to monetize the show and get recognition for your hard work. The ad is really not a big deal. If it isn't, I personally preferred it in the beginning so that I could lay back and relax to the video after skipping the ad.
He was trying to win before the opponents could have time to put some lands on field and have mana for interaction. But i mean, when you are at 5 life and one of my opponents have a haste creature on command zone, i would definily stop right there on naus.
Enjoying these games, I know some people have complained about sponsors in the middle, but I actually prefer that to the beginning. It breaks up the games a bit (so it feels more natural) and lets me get right into the games as soon as I click on the video.
Tatyova's better inside a stax deck if you ask me. There's no point in keeping an opening hand that ramps her out when other commanders run their gameplans significantly faster- you can't outpace them. It's way better to mulligan aggressively for an impactful stax piece like ouphe/cursed totem/damping sphere, maybe mana vortex and then use that to create an opportunity to get ahead. Tatyova decks can be built so those effects become asymmetric too.
Stop it with the fucking mid roll ads. It was annoying the first time and doing it twice is just bleh. We're gonna skip it anyway, all making it mid game does is make us probably miss a few secs of game. Seriously take a hint.
PWP, love you guys, but you've made some questionable choices as of late regarding how videos are done. I love the intros now including information on how the video will be structured, but mid roll ads make these completely take away from enjoying the video, it's literally the worst thing UA-cam does with ads. You've been using CardConduit forever now, is there no way to shorten the ad? Taking over a minute for an ad when the purpose of your channel is cEDH, not buying or selling cards, really impacts the narrative. I know that myself and others just skip through, but when it becomes every video and now in the middle, it detracts from what made this channel great: awesome games with even more awesome commentary. Now, I know this comment will probably fall on deaf ears, but I can promise you that I'm not the only one who feels this way after reading comments over the past 2 or so months.
They need the funding, if the minute and a half ad read is a part of the contract then... just skip ahead, there's no way to have a sponsorship spot that doesn't annoy an amount of people
@Greg501- As I stated in my comment, I am well aware they need it, but the length and change of where it is without notice is very jarring, especially since it is our views that keep the channel going as well. I understand they are going to do what they can to keep everything going and won't please everyone, but there was much less of an issue when it was at the beginning as we could skip to the uninterrupted action and now have a cut midway through, which UA-cam already does Ad Nauseam (inside jokes ftw) that people dislike. Making changes that are already disliked by a majority can hurt a brand.
I think I'm so bored with watching the same commanders over and over and over again... I could not care less about what Kinnan does or how Tymna works. Watching them or any other CEDH commander the channel overplays loses so much interest.
Commander tax needs to change to: 'Pay 2 extra for each time you have already cast a Commander from the command zone.' So once you've cast Tymna your Kraum now costs 7. It's too busted getting a card for free in the command zone.
I'm so sick of these whiners. Go somewhere else if you care so much. This is cEDH, this is how they want to play and how we want to see them play. Who are you to come in and set arbitrary rules for another person's channel?
Wait those weren't even the grossest Thoracle wins I've seen. Like if you're upset someone draws their entire deck and then just picks Thoracle to win idk lol

kinnan definitely made some... fun card choices in there.
Terrastynasty
I remember someone saying Kinnan is the most forgiving when it comes to pet cards in the 99 and it is true.
Never thought I'd see Forced Fruition outside of Against the Odds, and never ever in cedh xD
If I ever have Kraum as my commander, I will always refer to my combat step as Kraumbat.
MORTAL KRAUMBAT!
I appreciated the ad being just after the first game unlike in the previous episode where it was in the middle of a game
1:40 "He moves to Kraumbat"
I love this channel.
I like the new hand intro: no need for you to read out the cards in the opening hands, much more interesting to hear about the decks themselves!
Thumbs up for the change 👍
Listened to the criticism of the previous ad roll and changed it immediately. Worth a like all day
really enjoyed the extended deck intros in this episode, love the details and effort!
On the topic of ad placement in the videos, I think having a mid-video ad between games has a pretty smooth feeling to it. CEDH is extremely proxy friendly, and you can always use spelltable to play online with people
It's always such a treat to see alex playing kinnan. Keep up the great work guys! :)
I just about fell out of my chair when i saw FORCED FRUITION in Alex's opener game one.
Same i an halfway interested to see if there is an outlet in the deck
If you copy an Orcish Bowmasters it gets real nasty.
@@TheGrifcannon22 that’s so rough actually
Loved all the little extras done in this episode
I think Kodama of the East Tree + Shakashima with Aesi in the 99 is a better Simic landfall shell. Tatyova isn't a "may" ability and that can cause problems.
Why those instead of Aesi then?
@@aklepatzky because you have the combo pieces accessible in the command zone and Aesi is easy to get out of the deck when you need it.
Never thought I'd see forced fruition in a non orcish bowmaster or sheoldred deck
I play tatyova cedh, ashaya quiron ranger, Kodama, tireless provisioner/scuteswarm, and Simic growth chamber are the two combos that I run, for the deck to work you need to play very controlling to get the combos out. I love my deck
Ghostly flicker on mystic sanctuary and mana vault or mystic sanctuary+any lotus cobra effects works as well
@ethanlewis2963 list?
That was a hilarious Ad Naus I cannot lie
Can you do an episode where someone plays Kalamax? Curious to see how it does in CEDH
They have, albeit in an older meta. Just search it up or scroll back through their library.
(I’m a former kalamax pilot btw. The deck is clunky to get going but can be very powerful. I’ve switched to haldan/pakko for temur though)
Ive been seeing people using derevi more aggresive comboey using the one ring and would love to see a video like this surrounding a proactive derevi list
That fish was CRYING Turn 1 hahaha
Why not wait for the turn one ad naus ? I guess no mana means less interaction but in that spot I would have tried on opp end step in game 3
Yeah, I had the same thought, but one mana crypt or something like that would've likely won the game. But yeah I'm with you
@@freerunner1953 it’s close. If he could have got some red and cast final fortune .. maybe there was something there.
Maybe in that spot use it for value and draw 7-10 cards. He’d still be way ahead of everyone

So what are your suggestions to improve the deck?
that’s perfectly sane
Matt just really wanted to reenact that scene from the Punisher in game 3. "No no no no no no....WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!"
This Tatyova deck just felt so slow. My straight up Pauper version draws cards at an insanely quicker rate and has plenty of things to do through interaction. I'm interested in this decklist to see why someone could sit and do nothing for two or three turns in a row like that.
So this is a worse version but you wanna see it? Lol
Terastodon has shot me in the foot before
@1:45 "Kraumbat" 🤣
MORTAL KRAUMBAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT
4:30 Am I missing something, or did Nabeel play four lands this turn instead of 3? Gemstone Caverns twice, then Oboro twice.
Azusa plus exploration means they get 4 land drops
There's Azusa, which let's them play two extra lands, and exploration, which let's them play one extra, so that's a total of four land drops per turn
Oh wow... where is Mike's playmat from? 😍
He moves to “kraumbat.” Ok, I’ll like and subscribe.
Love the new edits with Gif's and commentary

@@marcelolima70 thats a good point, really trying for a lucky draw then with no mana available. I could see on rogsai but blue farm it seems too risky
"Classic Oracle or Breach lines" my guy, Theros Beyond Death came out in 2020
Tarrastadon and As Foretold in Kinnan is something. Man, you can get away with so many janky cards in that deck LMAO
Elephant Tribal! 🤣🤣
the partner pair of tatyova
Oh! Terrasta Nasty!!! Lol ❤❤❤
A kinnan with a triple mulligan and a steal enchantment, im good fam
Because of Game 2, Alex should get an extra nice place in hell. That was disgusting. I love it.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
