I freaked for a bit when Alex popped off, thinking he was gonna get that win. Such a nail-biter moment! ❤ Also, after watching this game I think we gotta form #TeamAaronWins cause I haven’t seen him win a cEDH recently and it’s time to manifest it! Love you guys! Can’t wait for the next vid! ❤❤
Thanks spikes. I’m now that guy at my lgs asking if anyone has any gamegenic bastions and showing them the intro to your videos. I’m proud I’d who I’ve become
Engaging the algorithm! Also not sure if you will see this, but it would be great if you could update your playlists! I love listening to your stuff on repeat in the background but you haven't updated your 2023 playlist for many months, not to mention we're in 2024 now! It may be for just us few but I will guarantee many more views from this, at least 2!
This is just technical question - ELIOT after he got the infiniti mana - should not he 1st. go for one of the "protection" creatures (like Grand Ambolisher) before he went for the combo ? From what I understand, along with Food Chain - Rocco and Squee are practically immune to remuval, but the "other" creatures are not - right?
I think with no responses to that point there's probably a certain level of not wanting to add to video length by adding extra steps that are (seemingly) irrelevant. If I was playing in a tournament I would probably still grab the protection, but I get the impulse to be concise in a gameplay video.
Sure - it was just question to "learn" best play. I still think with the editing, its just like extra 2 seconds, and shows the "best" play - but i can be rong :) For me it was just personal question if my line of thinking is correct or not. @@chrisbedrin3618
Sure - Still you maby play 2nd. Felidar effect (Bell-Ringer?) - so if two enemy have "respond" in therm of point remuval, it could stop the win con (Iam rong?) Tx for repsond :) @@Sheer_Falacy
TL;DR - What Eliot did - going directly for the win con - was optimal play given the situation. Nobody had removed food chain before Rocco resolved, so it wasn't going to be removed after. Basically, once infinite mana had been established, protection was irrelevant. If there had been a silence effect or a removal for food chain (the only card weak to removal in this combo) it would have been cast when either Rocco was cast to pull Squee, or Squee itself was on the stack after the first Squee sacrifice / re-cast. Any removal after the infinite mana was there would have only forced Eliot to pull a different combo, which made zero difference to the rest of the table other than wasted time, and Silence in general would have only given the table another turn to deal with the Food Chain (which is what would have happened had Eliot pulled GA or Ranger-Captain instead). And remember, Rocco doesn't choose which creature you pull upon cast, it chooses upon resolution - if a Silence or Food Chain removal would have been cast with Rocco on stack, Eliot could have gone for any other creature 3 mana or less to set him up for next turn.
I just watched Jim live, and now I'm watching Jim again! What a lovely day.
The more the merrier am I right
"No special guests today", but Eliot, you're all special to us.

I love these short vids with everyone playing combo decks. It really keeps me guessing every turn who’s gonna make it through
Nothing cures a headache like a Spider Feeder video!

@Alex you didn't miss anything with Jaxis, Jaxis is activate at sorcery speed only
Cheers! Makes me feel less bad. - Alex
@@TheSpikeFeeders That first turn should've made you feel bad enough.
I always love seeing y'all upload stuff and the chemistry between all of you is truly fantastic, can't wait to see the next video ❤
I bought some of these deck boxes partially because of you guys and I have to say they are really good for the price.
Alex's promo segue timing is impeccable! love y'all
My buddy Aaron being awesome as always ...so fun watching him play Magic!
"im discarding crotch rot' - Eliot
Thanks for being here, it's great to have me.
Curious why Alex didn’t play mana crypt into birgi on his turn 1
it'll be a sad day when gamegenic gives you guys a new intro 😭
Personally, not a fan of the bastion intro.
@@enoesiwpersonally, big fan of bastion intro. Bought eight on Black Friday because of it.
I just randomly mutter "Solid as a Rock!!!" from time to time and people sometimes stare at me awkwardly for some reason (I'm French 🇫🇷) 😅
Solid as a rock! Hell yeah spike video
That's a lotta cats
Bro it’s become so smooth with the OG’s
Freaking love these intros. Finally got a 200+XL on the way thanks to the solid intro making me always think about GameGenic
Love the Spikes!!! Come to magic fest Vancouver, 🙏 🙏 🙏

Hi Pieninja! Thanks for the comment! I've gone through and fixed up 2023, and I'll get one for 2024 up soon. Thanks for the nudge. Cheers! - Alex
I bet they use sourdough. They think it’s ironic. Alex - I love your shirt
Hope to meet you guys at magiccon Chicago and some deck tech advice or jam a game
I like normal commander games but some short matches are super nice to watch also 😊
Godo??? Can't wait to see Alex tap and untap basalt monolith in response to every priority check ❤

With infinite mana and infinite creature tutors, even if Felidar or Kiki-Jiki got dealt with he could go find something else.

Loved this episode!
Is it just me or is there a lack of the actual card Spike Feeder on some episodes of this channel? Jk, love the channel
Is that Tymna/Dargo🔥🔥
question, how did sacrificing Jeweled Lotus let him activate the mana effect?
Jeweled lotus just inherently gives you mana because that's its ability, but he didn't care about that, he cared about triggering Mayhem Devil.
I'm a simple man. I see tymna dargo, I watch immediately. Elliott is correct, best mardu deck in 2024.
By my count, that was 20-cactus cats. So many cats.
you guys enjoy playing decks like that
Aaron, your opening reminds me of an os match 😅
Sometimes you gotta make those optimal then 1 plays.
I hate when your Fellwar Stone or Exotic Orchard cant provide you the color you need, makes me want to replace them in all my decks
Seeing this game time being 19mins, i thought it was gonna to go Godo ahaha
Isn’t Jim the home team because it’s his basement?
I am glad my playgroup does not play all these op mana ramp cards
This channel is so good. I wish I could do subscribe to your patreon, but I'll at least help with engagement!
Lmao I think you guys misspelled Aron’s name
Never trust a godo player
"homegrown"? Are we looking for new adjectives? Consider: "artisanal" or "baroque".
Just like when I have to use proxies, you could also use the adjective "Broke"
