Peak Britta was the end of Season 1 with the line: "Jeff needs a girl who doesn't just not wear underwear because Oprah told her it would spice things up. He needs a girl who doesn't wear underwear because she hasn't done laundry in three weeks. He's been to flavor country now. They should retire the table we did it on." That's one of the best lines in the entire run of the show.
I love this channel because they always give us the clips in which they are referring to, but they also give us the proper setup and the secondary punchline of the scene, for example Chang’s “time to learn some formal greetings”
I read somewhere that Dan Harmon "stole" that joke from 30 Rock, when Peter's trying to mimic a valve getting open. He said he found that joke so funny, he had to make a version of it.
I once, during a hostile interview practice session with a huge camera in my face, forgot the words “Coast Guard.” Effing Coast Guard! I ended up saying, “you know, the small navy.” 🤦🏻♂️
I forgot Val Kilmer's name when talking to a friend one time. I'm like "he played Batman!" "Adam West?" "No, in one of the movies." "Christian Bale?" "No, in the 90s" "Michael Keaton?" "No, after that." "George Clooney?" "No, he was Doc Holliday in Tombstone!" "Oh, Val Kilmer? You should've said that first!"
14:41 The first time I saw the scene of Britta’s face looking at Shirley’s nethers in the black void with the eerie voice chorus, I laughed so hard I got a coughing fit 💀
The Britta as Jeff’s Dad/Jeff as Britta’s dad conversation is maybe one of the best scenes of the show of all time. I only just realized it. The dialogue is impeccable.
To quote Troy, "Britta, you're not the worst. You're the best." She's easily the one of the most compassionate of the group, even if she goes a little overboard at times.
She's the heart of the show. Jeff is the brain but Annie's plenty brainy. Abed is weird but Greendale doesn't want for weirdos. Shirley's grounded but the kids (and Jeff) maturing during the series gives us plenty of that. Britta is the only person in the study group with no facade. No mask, not hiding behind anything, just 100% authentically Britta.
This video does a good job highlighting just how good the chemistry and banter between jeff and britta is. I love annie but I still don't really see them together (she is sorta like a child in comparison to the in his 30's jeff and very immature in the way the world works). Britta, as silly as she is, has a much better understanding of what Jeff is about and can meet him on his level. She even pushes him to face his issues like she did in the thanksgiving episode (I do not see annie being useful in anyway for that kind of confrontation).
This is the first time I've ever heard that one of the nominees in the season 1 finale was "Danielle Harmon" - haha Dan Harmon just wanted his moment in the sun.
This reminds me how great the show got from season 2 on. All the usual sitcom crap between Jeff and Britta in season 1 dragged it down, but once they gave Gillian something interesting to do by making Britta just as much of a weirdo as the rest of them it got so funny. She crushed it with how adorably awful she got to be as Britta.
Britta is like every hot girl you know, who maybe seems mean or standoffish at first but the more you know her the more you realize she’s actually very kind and weird as hell
Accepting that im not annie and i never was, im britta and will end up 40 working at a bar with only my ex hookup for company, has been the worst part of my mid 20s by far but damn some of us really CANT find motivation or goals to keep us going
Amazing compilation! But I also hope you'll post a Best of Annie on Alison's birthday in December and not miss it for 3 years in a row lmao. It is very long overdue
She was a complete stereotype in the beginning... how can you watch this video filled with Gillian's incredible comedic performances and honestly say you prefered the before, absolutely ridiculous. Also it was her idea to make the character a goofball.
Everyone in the Study Group left (or died) except the person Jeff originally wanted to be with but didn't want to be with him: Britta. Britta, Chang, Dean Pelton and Frankie might not be the Study Group but its not a bad group to end up with.
And there in so deep, you know shes such a fool for him, She has a ring around her finger And theyve hired an irish singer Brittas marrying brittas maying, brittas marying, jefferery winger.
"Go start a ruiners club, oh wait, you'd probably ruin it." THAT'S THE POINT! It's not about her being the worst, she makes mistakes, she's embarrassing, she's cringe... she's the best.
The genius of the character is that Britta is extremely attractive in every way that doesn't really matter; and in all the ways it actually matters, she's the worst.
@@5h3nn0ng Depends how you define 'authentic', especially in regards to fictional characters, but I always felt she had more confidence and moxie in S1, which is why it's hard for me to say that her character afterwards is more her authentic self.
@@reservoirfrogs2177 While that may be true, as somebody that does like her as a character and roots for her, it would've been nice if making her funnier didn't also involve her clumsiness and fails being the butt of the jokes so much.

"I know what an analogy is, it's like a thought with another thought's hat on" is one of the best lines I've ever heard in a sitcom
it's also oddly accurate
And Jeff reflexively starts scoffing -- then realizes she's got something.
I mean, yeah, but what about "TURN ON HER!"?
@@thepolloelectrico1117 Absolutely legendary
How could you not include Britta escaping her parents home in a tricycle? 😂😂😂
On a Green Machine...nice choice.

That's one of the best lines in the entire run of the show.
Shirley walking by at the end really amplifies this scene.
Definitely my favourite Britta moment.
I love "flavour country" because it's the grossest possible thing she could have innocuously said
The defiance--! 👏
I love this channel because they always give us the clips in which they are referring to, but they also give us the proper setup and the secondary punchline of the scene, for example Chang’s “time to learn some formal greetings”
That moment when Britta forgets the word for drawbridge is so relatable.
I watched that moment like three times on this video and it made me laugh each time.
What's more relatable is Elroy remembering it right as she leaves

I've rewatched that musical fall for a serotonin deluge so many times now.
Just as Abed proved that Angela is the boss, I - with my trusty file of references - have definitively proved that Britta is the best!
