  • Peyton List is an actor who's appeared in shows like Jessie, Bunk'd, and now in Cobra Kai on Netflix! She and I got together to hang out and play Medical Confessions, where we each come up with two medical "facts" about ourselves. Of course, only one of the "facts" is true. It's up to the other person to suss our which is and isn't sus. Today we talked about herpes, asthma, twisted colons, tuberculosis, motion sickness, rashes, losing your voice, fainting, Doctor Oz, Swine Flu, Emergen-C, and even horns. Leave questions for Peyton down in the comments!
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

The one that Peyton lied about, that Dr. Mike didn't get, about her colon being twisted at birth was actually an extremely believable one. I can see why Dr. Mike thought it was the truth. I actually lost my little brother when I was in middle school (about fifteen years ago) from sepsis because his colon had twisted. The predisposition for that to happen was a defect he'd had since birth, but we didn't know about it until it happened because there wasn't actually the space in his abdominal cavity for his colon to twist until after a procedure he'd had a few months prior to his final hospitalization.

In addition to dry eyes, the strain can also be caused by prolonged accommodation (focusing your eyes to see up close) and converging your eyes to look at a closer target. You’re right, the 20-20-20 rule is a great way to relieve the symptoms! It makes me so happy to hear people spreading accurate information about optometry, so thank you for that! In the overwhelming majority of cases it trasmits from genitals to genitals. And by the way herpes tends to not be trasmitted when it's dormant, so if you got it in your genitlas it was most likely gotten from another genitals while it was active. You could've gotten from oral sex from a person with dormant herpes in their mounth, but that's super rare.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. You've helped me understand what good medical care is supposed to look like. In Germany, where I get most of my medical care, I feel that many doctors have failed to explain to me why certain treatments are needed, pros/cons, etc. and therefore failed to respect consent properly. I didn't realize that this was a problem until I heard you emphasize high care standards over and over again. I now ask a whole lot more questions, even though I still feel it's a systemic issue, at least in this country, that patients are not respected enough. But at least I can advocate a lot more for myself and spread the good word.
    Thank you.

They are extremely common and not “gross” or “bad”, however, they can cause genital herpes via oral s*x, which can be very painful and hard to deal with. I was unaware it can be transmitted that way and I think a lot of people are.

He admitted to having HSV-1 which, as stated in the video, 70% of people under the age of 50 have..... There's almost no stigma attached to HSV-1 since the most common presentation is cold sores. The stigma is attached to HSV-2. Most people don't even understand that Herpes causes cold sores because the information has been removed from a lot of health and sex ed classes.
