- ‼️ Hi everyone, quick update in the interim, it seems I may have got this wrong! 😅 the added files are function maps, not sound files. Will update soonest. Apologies for the confusion!
Did I miss something? Hornby have shadow-dropped a huge amount of new profiles onto their brilliant HM7000 app, you now have the entire TTS library at your fingertips alongside some other new profiles, including the Castle Class from the GWR! Rejoice!

The TTS entries aren't sound files, they've been added for the legacy dongle so you can add function maps for your existing TTS sound decoders.
You’re right! My mistake. I will get on this
Very happy to hear this despite the TTS sounds being added. Coverage is key! I am still wary on HM7000... it could be the next evolution in DCC control but only time will tell!.
Great overview Hylt!
Thanks James, I do think you should just dip a toe and see personally, I think you will be quite impressed with it overall! 😊

That’s really exciting, thanks for sharing. Castle class is particularly interesting to me, maybe the real star of my channel should now get a new chip and speaker! Also interesting to see if any of those new profiles are for locos that will feature in this year’s TT120 announcements.
😂 it’s makes sense that the Castle is front and center for DCMR! Worth a shot Martyn, I think you will be impressed with it, and for such a great price, the sound you get is truly brilliant!
Thanks for popping in,

Hi just been watching your video and was wondering if you know of any videos to do with taking a loco of the hm7000 app and reinstalling it.
Hello Ian, I haven’t seen one but I could certainly look at doing one myself, are you talking about completely deleting the loco off the app and then re-adding it?
@@Proper_Chuffed hi yes I had to returned a class 50 to Hornby and they fixed it and had to connect it to there’s now I had it back and I have to do the same been trying all weekend doing something wrong
I've used TTS decoders in several of my diesils and am quite happy with the results. The only drawback for me with the steam decoders is that you can't adjust the chuff rate. The same is true for the XTS decoders, and i did ask a Hornby technician about this, which is a bit of a disappointment. But other than that the HM7000 is a great innovation as was TTS. It would be a great boost, and would probably increase sales if the chuff rate was added.
Hello John,
Thanks for popping by, indeed I hear you on the chuff rate, the W1 I recently reviewed was definitely a bit off. I suspect they’re probably working on some kind of cv adjustment for that. Hopefully anyways!
I wouldn’t mind seeing these hm7000 and hearing them in person. Do you have to use the hm7000 app to run the trains? Or would z21 run them? Anyone know?
Dave I use the Z21 on my layout, and HM7000 works perfectly on it. You can just use the app to install the profile, once done, you can tap to switch it over to DCC and then run it with your z21 as normal. It’s brilliant. I don’t actually use Hornby’s app for more than installing profiles, once done, it’s Z21 all the way 😊

I'm not sure why Hornby have duplicated no many loco's with the TTS and TXS sound files. Is there a benefit of using one over the other?
Not to my knowledge Stephen, I think TXS is obviously better with greater clarity and fidelity, I will run a test this weekend comparing them, keep an eye out and thanks for watching 😊

I understand it is not the sounds, but loco's operation that is different.
I just wish they’d add a few generic overseas options, say an SD40 or an Alco.
Just something for those of us that want to fit out a non UK loco
I hear you Leon, I suspect they’re keeping it close to home for the time being, but given they have a hand in Rivarossi and Lima, I would be surprised to see the tech make it to some popular overseas engines! 😊
Glad they added the class 40 me being a diesel fan, we still need the class 25, 26, 27 and 33 ( locos in the Hornby and ex Lima range)
As far as I can see I don't think they have added sounds for the class 40, unfortunately. If you already have a class 40 TTS decoder, then you can now import a function map and control the existing decoder using the app if you have the Bluetooth dongle.
Hello Rob! I’m a bit starstruck to see you in my comments 😂 that’s great info! I didn’t even realize that was possible? That’s actually brilliant!
Thanks for popping past 😊 means a lot!

@@Proper_Chuffed just subbed 🙂
@@LittleWicketRailway wow 🤩 thank you Rob! You just made my week! 🙏 I really appreciate it!
@@LittleWicketRailway Thats disappointing, the non TTS file class 40 is due 4th quarter SD012 so a while to wait, no sign at all of the others I mentioned ie 25, 26, 27, 33 although they are going to be doing the 87
Please make an update to correct the misunderstanding!
I hear you, my mistake, will post an update soon! Not my intention to confuse. Sorry.
I would just like to be able to download the sound files to my computer for future use without the need to use the App
Agreed with you, that would make life a lot simpler! 😅
But no emus!
Agreed, still waiting on quite a few missed profiles! And really, 3 Flying Scotsman profiles 😂
THE GAPPING HOLE IN DCC !!!
Yes but when are they going to tackle the GAPPING HOLE in DCC ? Which is of course the problem of interfacing DCC with ANY Block Signalling System, such as Absolute Block, Track Circuit Block or Permissive Block. Without which DCC remains just a very expensive "Toy Train set" option. As it currently prevents real life Operational methods. And as Hornby have never actually done a proper range of signals except one or two very crude offerings, that hole will also need plugging.
But then as Hornby it seems have just been gobbled up by SPORTS DIRECT (Fraser Group) who state they will put Hornby back in the High Street. I suspect this could be the death knell for Hornby, as that company has zero qualifications in dealing with an esoteric Hobby !!!!
That is actually a very good point you are making. I guess this is really designed to serve as the basics in the hobby. But I agree, it's something they strongly need to consider if they are hoping customers make the tech their go-to control for everything on their layouts.
I just wish the app wasn't so utterly horrible to use
What part of it frustrates you? I must say I’ve seen improvements in responsiveness over time, I find it quite easy to use.

@Proper_Chuffed adding more locos and having to download updates every time, I know it's necessary, but couldn't you have a file download to your device so you don't re download it every time
That’s a good point, it would make things a lot quicker if you could just keep the file on your phone. I hope Hornby is listening 😂
@@Proper_Chuffed 15 decoders later...
@@jeffheins6624 good god 😂 okay yeah I totally see where you are coming from. And with it taking roughly 15 mins per download and update, that’s a LONG time!
