Yeah we know this wasn't the plan. Disney did not have a plan. and they threw George Lucas is out the window after they told him they would use it. the original director of episode 9 said the emperor had nothing to do with it when he was working on it. that they only came up with that idea last minute when they fired him and brought jar jar Abrams in. so there's no way this was palpatine's plan all along because it wasn't the plan for Star Wars all along! Disney is just retconning and making crap up and this channel is shilling out for them!
@KRYMauL yeah I know that. And now she runs lucasfilm for Disney... she is Disney. if Bob iger or the Disney shareholders didn't like what she was doing they could stop her. They don't because she's doing what Disney wants.
Palpatine to sith assassin: kill my granddaughter Palpatine to Kylo: kill Rey she's my granddaughter. Palpatine to Rey: hi granddaughter, kill me so I can possess you and take over the galaxy again that I once controlled.
It's great how fans who actually know a thing about star wars manage to create a plausible reason for Palpatine being in episode 9. However I doubt anyone had even remotely something like this in mind, when they decided to bring him back.
I've long since come to the conclusion that the Sequels are just bad-fics/poor-fan'imations that were pushed into viral territory by a tide of money from a desperate, hollowed-out CORPSE of a once-creative company that has Walt & Roy spinning in their graves. I mean for Buddha's sake, this shit makes the live-action Last Airbender look iron-bound-faithful to it's source material and genuinly good besides--THAT'S how bad things have gotten! And what's most galling is that you have the same thing happening with Rebels compared to Clone Wars with executive meddling stifling the efforts of SAINT Filoni, only to push out a decent score in Rogue One and an absolute beauty of a bullseye in The Mandalorian, so WHAT is going on at Quality Control for these films and their surrounding canon, i.e. Battle of Jakku or dare i say the whole 'neo-battlefront' campaign, which is it's own shelf of canned worms?
@@katsarelas1947 I'm not referring to the immortality plot itself as bad-fic, it's the execution--i.e. that Disney "had" to re-do it instead of e.g. putting the comics/novels to cinema with/out THEN putting in new stuff for reasons ranging from better flow in a different medium to 'mere' flash i.e. Han's death OR faking-out Chewie's ACTUAL death-by-moon like they 'fooled' us with the shuttle...for like 5 minutes without ANY angst/consequences, BTW...still--that concerned and in short order infuriated me; even the 'highlight' scenes tended to have SOD-breaking moments galore, e.g. the Holdo Manuevre is up for debate--I personally would've loved them doing more with that ala the EU when Palpatine Reborn weaponised the effect against whole worlds with his Galaxy Gun, which was the sort of logic sci-fi series generally follow like when ships are stated to have nuclear reactors so OF COURSE some villain at some point would take advantage of that, & would've presented the oppertunity for evolution of space-battle tactics ala real-life movement from flak-guns to point-defence turrets even if dogfighting remained in effect for starfighters, say, because it's more economical to use lasers and line-of-sight the way 'dumb' droids get you roughly equal results to Terminators on a budget that fits the CIS economist leadership's mindset--but the 'disappearing knife' scene of the Throneroom Battle is 1 of those things that just HAVE to be labelled 'bad' at softest, and as we see in GenTech's video, what i presume to be a few hours or days at most is MORE than enough time to think of at least 1 interesting thread a director can use tying the Sequels if not all 9 movies together--pos. explained via villanous monologue or even the ghost of Rey's father doing a bit of exposition, "my father detested his withered form", that sort of thing--so what prevented the people whose JOB it is to check stuff like that or outright hiring fans for 'proto-screenings' like some companies have started doing DOING said job? This is one of those rare situations where every fan and their grandma COULD in fact do a better job AND in fact have already done so in MANY ways, such as--again--the very video we're posting commentary on! Also BTW excuse me if you were just putting out a sarcastic line for the hell of it, but this trilogy has stoked my Nerd Side SO HARD i feel the Darkest urge to vent in a mostly-polite, reasonable debate, so any1 that has "missed oppertunity" rants they want to get off THEIR chest are not just welcome but encouraged on this sub-reply-list.
The Coroner Y’know, I think they could worked on the old Expanded Universe as a separate continuity, like with the Transformers and their shows and comics. Would’ve net them more profit, so I hear Also, might sound naive but who’s being referred to whenever “Disney” is being mentioned? Corporate executives at Disney? Bob Iger? Kathleen Kennedy? Lucasarts executives? All of the above?
You know this whole force possession thing would have made more sense if it wasn't Palpatine that was saying it. Imagine instead it was Kylo Ren saying it, while he revealed that it was he who had turned Vader. It was he whom controlled the Senate. It was he whom allowed his foolish apprentice to believe that he had killed him in his sleep. Wouldn't it have blown your mind to learn that Kylo had been possessed the moment he killed Snoke by an ancient Sith that went all the way back to the creation of the rule of 2? That would give a lot more depth to the rule of 2. Why would anyone want to train someone that they know will one day kill them, unless they are sure that they would be possessing a much more powerful body?
We know they weren't! the original director of episode 9 said the emperor had nothing to do with it when he was working on it that they only came up with that idea last minute when they fired him and brought jar jar Abrams in. so there's no way this was palpatine's plan all along because it wasn't the plan for Star Wars all along! Well, your half wrong and half right. Palpatine set up a contingency plan incase his empire fell which is operation cinder. Take a look at the final order and first order. He decided that if he fell that the empire must evolve into something more. Palpatine learned the ability to survive and live. He found out about exegol during the years of the empire, and would rebuild from the shadows, he also creates a new leader to make people think a new enemy came with the first order. Snoke. He also wanted to test Kylo ren with using the rule of two. Which was to kill the master to gain power. That was when he waited to the right moment for Palpatine to reveal himself. And the rest is self explanatory if you saw the movie.
It truly is the Palpatine saga. Prequels: The rise of Palpatine over the Republic/Empire. Main trilogy: The removal of Palpatine from the Republic/Empire. Sequel trilogy: The defeat of the evil that sustained Palpatine. The fate of the Republic takes a back seat to the fate of the Force. (The Republic will always be at risk until the spiritual conflict of the galaxy is resolved.) The films rip the romanticized cover off the Dark Side, showing the true twisted depths of that way. We see the unholy way Palpatine clung to life, we see where the Sith come from, and we see them finally defeated on their homefront.
Or in other words for the sequel trilogy part: "big baddie palpatine comes back out of the blue on a random planet and only uglier than before. Then he somehow has a bunch of big bad super duper planet destroying ships. Then he fights good ol rey, and uses the cliche, give in to the dark side and cut me down HAHAHAHAHA! But then she uses her light side powers and jediness to fry him! Then a bunch of ships come out of nowhere to save our friends from the new, and so cleverly named Final Order!" Btw I was just trying to be funny and humorous here
Sidious didn't implant/impregnate etc. Not directly. As I recall from the Plagueis novel, Anakin was a reaction of the Force to Sidious and Plagueis working to tip the galaxy toward darkness; the Force reacted to their immense dark side power by creating Anakin as their equal in the light.

Ideas for videos SPOILERS Palpatine’s life before the senate: Wife and other stuff. Who is general Prye? Is he a reincarnated Tarkin? How was Snoke created/used by Palpatine?
Is Han secretly strong in the force and a Jedi ? (Ben's vison) Was the death star remains with the sith holocron, I mean wayfinder on Yavin or Endor and why didn't Palpatine tell Snoke to grab a valuable artifact to the sith home world that's not Korriban (eh?) and secret base? Why would AWOL Stormtroopers purposefully hid out on the planet with death star space Nazi remains? Wouldn't they know space neo-nazis would want to search for relics? Did Kylo Ren find some hyperfuel in order to get from the death star remains to exegol in what looked like a standard tie fighter? How does one hyperspace jump skip into what was a planets atmosphere without jumping into a building, planet, or pod of purrgil. Didn't seem Poe did calculations, did Han know how to do that?
Dude read the Legends and Expanded continuity. Second, Darth Sidious created Contentious plan when his original body of his dies or disintegrated he transfer his essences to another clone "look alike" that Resemble him but he doesn't like it Thirdly, my dude Sidious can make clones of every one, have you played force unleashed 1 and 2? It just dawned on me Obi wan was so ready for his duel with anakin not only from all their time and training together, but from all his battles with Maul. Maul put him through hell and basically gave him more experience fighting sith than any other Jedi of the time. So not only did he know Anakin/Vader, he knew the Sith, and how they think/fight.
That's why Kylo died. Like when Leia kissed Luke, he suddenly realised he was related to Rey, and he willed himself to death like a dolphin so he didn't have to deal with that.
Warren Vidic, I was just thinking this. It would be a deep trilogy that stitched together so many concepts and executed them in a way that was easy for most anyone to understand.
Yes and no. GT is not a writer or director. They would need a more qualified and skilled team to back them up, but as far as the overall story I think he would have been better. Honestly, I think it would have been best if they turned the Yuuzhan Vong war into a trilogy. After reading the NJO series it would have been great.
Thank you Allen for everything you do brother, if I'm sad or bored or just feeling lonely I'll put on one of your videos. I love starwars and I love learning more about it. I hope you have a great New Year!
When Palpatine threw Kylo/Ben down the giant hole and said he "finally got rid of the Skywalker line", it made me realize that giving the 9 movies the title of the "Skywalker saga" is a MASSIVE disservice to the one person that all of these movies have actually been about. Since day 1 everybody has been just tools for Palpatine to use. This video overall gave me a much bigger appreciation for the newest trilogy and makes me wish they would've included more about the New Republic's issues and the actual plans of the First Order in the movies. I think a lot more people would've appreciated it.
fireball111121 I still think the new trilogy is an abomination and was poorly thought out, but I think it makes a decent fan fiction. The skywalker legacy shouldn’t have been shat on like it has been.
The Star Destroyers in Rise of Skywalker aren't just retrofitted Imperator-class Star Destroyers, they are actually Xyston-class Star Destroyers; however, I will admit that they are just upscaled versions of the Imperator by a factor of 1.5 (making it 2,400m long), so these Star Destroyers are clearly supposed to look like the original Imperator-class Star Destroyers.
He didn't create Anakin. Palpatine says Plageuis could create life, and the canon Plageuis novel says that the Force lashed out back at Plageuis when he attempted to, and when Plageuis met Anakin, he was convinced that the Force had created Anakin to destroy him and Palpatine.
@@sheevone4359 so if he created anakin, did he create Rey's dad/mom thru Midi-chlorians or did they pop out au-naturale? Because if by natural means I'm guessing his baby mama either was in love or he paid for it considering well looks. Yea JJ sucks....
@generation tech all other reviews were 'I hate it, I liked it, it sucked as part of the saga but was good as a standalone..' You had a deep analysis and original content of the SW universe. Well done!
The same thing with the instabilities of the new Republic happened in the heir of the empire trilogy too. I didn't watch the rise of skywalker yet, but i like the idea of this concept very much because it's reasonable.
Palps dude, just clone Anakin's body and _kill the original._ Only one Force connection at a time from a given original, but if Vader's dead then the new vessel is undamaged and Force sensitive. [Don't know how that applies to identical twins]. And could baby Yoda be a abortive attempt to create another vessel for him to transfer into? But he changed his mind and decided human was best. Also his strike down plan does have a flaw … "Take off and nuke the site from orbit".
Hi Allen. I believe the reason why nobody came to help Leia on Creight was, that after the fall of the Empire, many worlds found out she was the daughter of Vader (Anakin).
Here's an interesting thought: what if Palpatine was actually Plageus? Where he posessed Palpatine when Palpatine killed him. Where he did cheat death in the hody of his apprentice.
I see a lot of people saying “theory” and “no none of this makes sense” ...if you watched the movie it’s pretty clear that was the idea What, it’s unreasonable the unholy dark space wizard had a plan In 3 phases? (Clone wars, empire, first / last order) That he just made an empire and thought “well I was just gonna quietly die of old age but then some blonde teen RUINED IT”? Look I hated tlj too But you can’t possibly think this doesn’t make sense Legends and canon point to this being EXACTLY what Palpatine always wanted Not just to be the only sith Not just to wipe out the Jedi But to be the sole, all powerful force user, and god to an empire that had long forgotten any other stable way of life other than under his rule
So why have the Inquisitors who are force sensitive Jedi hunters? Wouldn't he have struck them down? In case you know these former Jedi turned without him knowing, like his apprentice Vader did? The fact palpatine survived the fall and the death star explosion is the reason why the rise of Skywalker should be labeled as the worst in the series as it invalidates Anakins sacrifice to save his son Luke from the Emperor. A similar sacrifice Luke makes in the last Jedi to save the remains of the resistance and the last Jedi Rey. The last Jedi > the rise of Skywalker
The inquisitors helped purge the Jedi. And look at that, they just happened to be all gone by the time of Endor. Look, I’m not saying it’s perfect but it does fit into Palpatines kinda planning
@@katsarelas1947 sorry So many force sensitive beings bendu from rebels, the revival of the nightsisters in fallen order.Rehashing the past. It's bad story telling on JJs part.I mean making Poe a spice smuggler was necessary how? It's just as silly as palpatine, after force lightning the heck out of Luke (remember the toll doing that to windu jacked his face) went fell down the what I believe was the reactor core. Survived that mini core explosion we see as blue plasma flames came up, and survive the explosion of the death star. Should have let the past die instead of giving into fan service.
The thing we didn’t see in Rise of Skywalker, was the part of Palestine’s plan, where after he would then go to his home world, of Naboo. And bow to his master.... *meesa back*
It would be all perfectly sound if it was as you described However, the star destroyers we get to see in episode 9 are considered "new class" and have been built "in the decades after Endor". So no refit and that part of the plan goes out of the window
@@richardnelson1013 that is not what refit means mate. Refit is the act of restoring or "upgrading" an existing ship with new hardware, like what happened with the Iowa class. What you described is a different thing
If emperor plan for the new Republic to abandoned their navy fleet then only order his loyal first order fleet to take over the new Republic is simply genius. Since he target and destoy all 3 important Republic planet (where all his enemies are focus and instant destroy in one go)
That was a very entertaining vid ... but I don't believe a word of it, lol ;) Why would Palpatine who was in total control of the galaxy, had arranged a trap to wipe out the Rebels and so give him uncontested rule by the end of RotJ let himself be killed and the Rebels win only to go and hide for 30+ years to create a fleet of Death Star Star Destroyers? He could of done that just as easily, more easily even, as head of the Empire. I haven't seen RoS yet but I assume it's not explained how he got the resources and manpower to create that huge fleet of ships or how he survived his 'death' in the second Death Star? Or why he would plan the rise of the First Order when he had his 'real' plan going along just fine while in hiding? I think that, although Allan gives us a very well thought out theory, it's pretty clear JJ just grabbed Palpatine because the bad guy he had planned to use was taken out by Rian Johnson.
Couple ways to look at it. The emperor in ROTJ was a clone, with like 90% Palpatine ability. It would make sense overall in account that when a group or a very charismatic leader wants total control, you have to keep your opponents bickering and killing each other. The other way is that Johnson knew he was getting shit canned and made a movie that killed the ultimate bad guy, so that who ever followed him would have difficulty trying to raise a phoenix from the ashes. Personally I was let down with the death of SNOKE. Loved the way he force lighting bitch slapped Kylo. Yet hoped for his reincarnation in Rise. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@cmfgates When you have to make up your own head c as non to explain things for th these movies it just shows how poorly it was made. I'm all for deep films where you read between the lines but thus Disney Trilogy was so stretched thin that it just isn't worth it and it breaks my heart that we will never see it dissolved and remade into a proper story with well written characters
@lcyw20 The 'contingency plan', according to the canon of the computer games and books, was Operation: Cinder, which destroyed loyal Imperial worlds. Why would he destroy loyal worlds when he intended to come back?
You asked the same question I did. During the old republic he's a master of the long game but by Endor he was regularly eating stupid pills and couldn't guess that Vader might betray him to save his son. A man who always had a contingency plan or three invited the entire rebellion to his top secret battle station and was surprised by Darth Vader's betrayel.
I also wonder if with the new canon there's a more esoteric reason for what he did. Driving the Empire to a constant level of fear, anger, and panic would strengthen his connection to the dark side, further shifting the balance, and forcing a new chosen one to be born. Once he saw that happen he let the info leak for the Death Star plans and set his galactic reset play out while setting up his return. Though that's leaving a hell of a lot to chan.... er..... Fate.
When it comes to the lightning being reflected, I'm if the opinion that it just stripped away an illusion he had around him. The dark side wears away and rots the body, causing the appearance palps had. I don't get why he'd allow his own attack to damage him so much, even if it'd help him garner sympathy with the senate.
Just saw Rise of Skywalker, and this seems pretty legit. It makes sense that Darth Pelagius originally developed his body snatcher technique and planned to use it on his apprentice (and had probably done this a few times before) which is why Shiv killed him in his sleep instead of challenging him directly. The whole thing with Anakin and Luke fits EXTREMELY well this way; Palpatine spent most of the prequel looking for a suitable replacement for Darth Maul and then most of the OT looking to replace Vader. I can't really buy the Empire being set up to fail, though. I think at heart Palpatine was an ultra nihilist and was mainly looking to create a galaxy where the strongest could reign and thrive at the expense of the weak. Probably figured that this would help him single out potential candidates for replacement bodies; anyone who could survive the rat race would be powerful enough for his purposes.
The bunker buster cannon from TLJ was said by Finn to be miniaturized Death Star tech, meaning the first order had already been doing work on weapons like the ones used in the Sith Fleet. I guess the R&D required to make Starkiller’s weapon be a multi shot hyperspace weapon also led to shrinking the needed hardware for the original DS super laser?
A few ship mounted turbolasers probably could've punched through the armour eventually. the structure isn't mobile, they would.only need an orbital bombardment aimed at the area where the door was
They wouldn't even need to break into the bunker, just keep them from leaving. Let the Resistance close the doors and then starve them out and they'll either surrender or die all without needing to fire a shot.
@@imperiumcommentingnetwork4677 A back entrance that was caved in. If the First Order never brought out the cannon and just focused on trapping them, they likely could have focused on holding off Rey in the Falcon and kept her at bay long enough to secure the exits, especially since she didn't come in until late in the battle. I don't think even Rey's Mary Sue powers could have stood up to the First Order fleet and any reinforcements they would have been able to call in.
Finally a review video from someone who gets it!!! All my favourite SW channels are falling over themselves to slam this movie and trilogy and not one of them seems to actually understand the deeper significance of the story being told! It was Lucas himself that made the final Jedi female, he was just planning originally on having it be Leia.
It's Bonkers. Death Star 1 blown up, Empire continues. Death Star 2 blows up, Palps collapses his own Empire, only to create a First Order which starts another campaign to conquer the Galaxy - he once ruled and then wrecked for no good reason - and build a new Empire. But this time Palps does not supply the First Order - which he controls through Snoke - the Planet killing Star Destroyers it needs to do the job. Instead he has them _TURNING A ENTIRE PLANET INTO A MULTI PLANET KILLER_ even though he has these thousands of Star Destroyers that could do a whole lot more destruction and evade a enemy that cannot track them through Hyperspace. So he then plays a silly game with Kylo and his Grand Daughter to provoke Kylo in to killing his Supreme leader Puppet - which he utterly controls and even has some spares lying about just in case - and then offers Kylo - who now controls Palps own FO - this fleet to.... STOP STOP. WTF. This is nuts. Over convoluted madness. Who wrote this Fan fiction shit ? It even had the Hero girl snog a patricidal mass murderer who is so deranged he forgives HIMSELF - by imagining his Father forgives him - for murdering his Father AND the Culpability of the Holocaust of Trillions? WTF! I mean... *_WTF !!_* And to think they thought George Lucas couldn't write any better !? *BONKERS*
First off in the rise of Skywalker visual dictionary the new class of sith star destroyer is named as the Xyston class and that it is 800 meters longer than the ISD 1
Still dont see how the title is a spoiler like everyone is screeching about. Its asking two questions in one. Was it part of the enperor's grand design that the empire was to be destroyed by the emperor in order to usher the galaxy onto an even grander stage? Also if you think including the emperor in the title as being alive was a spoiler well you missed every trailer didn't you?
I got to admit Allen you actually made that movie make sense I'm impressed. They should hire you as a spin doctor at Disney. I'm not being sarcastic or talkin down you actually did make that movie make a lot more sense. I still don't like the movie but you made it a lot better than it was. As always I like your videos Allen you're a hell of an intelligent guy
I always wondered why Palpatine was so lazy with the empire. It was uncharacteristic of him but now it makes sense. He played the really long like multiple lifetimes long game
Nah Marc, it's because some dumbass that wrote shitty Star Wars fanfiction as a kid somehow ended up writing the script to the last Star Wars movie. Criticise ole Lucas all you want, but goddamn were the prequels a million times better than these last 3 shitfests. Rise of Skywalker ain't got nothing on Revenge of the Sith
Poe: "Somehow...Palpatine has returned" Star Wars elitists: *laughs in disgust* Alan of Generation Tech: "Hold on now, this actually changes more than what you think." I'm with Alan on this one
Completely agree this film changes the whole 3 previous movies into something amazing and clicked the first order and all that being his real plan like wow
I'm sorry I can suspend my disbelief to watch all types of high fantasy, science fiction, and all types of supernatural stuff. But I can't suspend my disbelief long enough to actually want to spend any amount of time trying to play around in my head with "lore" created by a multinational corporate conglomerate with absolutely zero passion. This is essentially just you doing all the homework for Disney and it feels like it's swallowing the plastic slop that Disney put on a spoon in front of our faces telling us to open the hangar so they can land the X-Wing. You're not the only channel making these "lore" videos based on Disney-created information, and I know you're just a dude who loves Star Wars and is always looking for ideas to make videos on, so I don't have any malice towards you at all GT. But the idea that I want to try to work out the kinks and explore something made by people that have literally no concern whatsoever for the continuity as long as the revenue is coming in, I can't get behind that
FreeOpenTruth u can’t help this franchise anymore the only way to actually enjoy it is to watch 4-6 and a little bit 1-3 but the last triologie was complete bullshit and not one bit what Star Wars is about
The Empire Already had some Nazi references - but I have another theory conerning historical references: The Clone Wras actually were the French-German war after which the German Empire (the one with an actual Emperor) was created - it ended in a revolotion, but in the aftermath of the war and the economic troubles (Great Depression etc.) the Germans didn't like the Republic of Weimar, that is how the Nazis (who rather equal the First Order except the Nazis had a more subtle way of taking over) could take over power. Sorry for the typos btw, as one might have guessed I'm German, my English is not perfect and my computer won't correct comments in English with the current settings.
Just saw the Rise of Skywalker, went in with neutral expectations and i thought it was ok. Its one of those movies where its better to watch and form your own opinion, rather than listening to the echo chamber.
I went in with massively low expectations, and it was meh, it was better than Last Jedi. People say that it ripped Dark Empire, which is partially true, but I don't think it is worse than Dark Empire, mostly because Dark Empire is rubbish.
Another question I have is I've heard so many times that after Anakins defeat on Mustifar he lost a good bit of force ability with his limbs being cut off and he'd never live up to his potential but Yoda is no bigger than Anakins Trunk and he's always in the top 5 most powerful light side users. In this it doesn't seem that the amount of flesh you have should count to your power level.
It's not so much that his power was diminished but that a good portion of that power was now diverted to just keeping him alive and functioning. That's how I've always viewed it anyway.
I must admit this is the first time I think of the empire and how it could lose from that tag tag fleet of the rebels. I always assumed the explanation in the thrawn books that his will made it possible that empire coordinated and work together better in battle. But in hindi sight that would mean that without him they were even worse and that's hard to imagine! No I believe indeed he created a flawed empire, just as his droid army was flawed. And the clone army was rigged to betray the jedi and the republic. I think the only thing he did not plan was his own dead, but even for that he had safeguards in place for that unlikely event. The first order is probably an improvised version to give him time to adjust his endgame and gain enough strengt to create his final order for the galaxy. I do think he wanted to trick ray into believing he died and she becomes empores. , in truth after that his spirit would take over her body and he would still rule. I don't believe he will give up power for any one. Not even an grandchild. Why not ben? Simple that was no Palpatine.
This is a great video. I consider myself a Star Wars snob and don’t follow Star Wars theories much. There’s definitely enough material in this universe to nitpick and theorize about. Your video makes complete sense. And if this wasn’t the plan it will most likely be retconned to in the future. Keep up the good work.
I thought the Sith Lightning that was reflected back at Sidious only dissolved the Sith Alchemy that his his true form. And that face afterwards was his true face after all the years he was steeped in the dark side, since according to lore those steeped in the dark side start to show physical signs over time..
Wait darth plagius wanted immortality and figured out how to influence life through midichlorians right. And for the emperor to gain immortality he needed to be struck down? Didn’t emperor Palpatine strike down plagius what if that is plagius in the body of emperor palpatine still trying to live forever
Palps was incredibly cunning, except he made the _same mistake twice_ … not switching off his Force Lightning *when it's being reflected back at him.* Does being zapped by your own Force lighting short circuit the off switch?
Palpatine has no grand plan Because Disney had no grand plan. Sadly the mass murdering space wizard was the victim here. That’s how bad the sequel films are
If palpatine really was all the sith, he'd have obliterated Rey right there.....exar kun, Revan, malak, malgus, Nihilus, Freedon nadd, marka ragnos, Naga Sadow, Ludo Kressh, tula horde, vitiate, sion, traya, Darth Millennial, Darth Andeddu etc.....Disney has no fucking idea what's going on
"im surprised I didnt see this coming!" how could you? Lucasfilm, JJ, et. al. were just as surprised as you because the whole thing was pulled from the arse
6:20 the body doesn’t matter. Yoda says they’re luminous being, not crude matter. So their ability to use the force is not diminished, nor have there been anything to suggest it would be.

The Xyston class Star Destroyer wasn't a repurposed Imperial-II class, it was a new design that closely resembled the Imperial-II class, but there the similarities end. The Xyston class is 2.4 kilometres in length as opposed to the Imperial-II class's 1.6 kilometres, and it has two fighter bays, one on each side of the ventral axial superlaser. The superlaser draws its power directly from the main reactor, much like the Death Stars of the Old Empire, but with a much faster recharge rate. And since there were at least a thousand of these planet-killing ships, this basically represents the ultimate evolution of not only the Star Destroyer class but Sheev Palpatine's Grand Plan. No Senate. No Regional Governors. No judiciary. No army. No regime. It is just the Emperor, his fleet of planet killer ships, and the uncountable subjects of the Emperor himself. The very essence of the Final Order is this -- "Obey my every word and decree, or your world dies."

This video has a number of outright mistakes. Chief among these include Palatine creating Anakin. Anakin was created accidentally by Darth Plageuis; NOT Darth Sidious. Also, Darth Sidious/Palpatine did have a plan called "the contingency," but that's not the same as planning for the Empire to intentionally fail. It's more likely, and implied in the contingency that Sidious finally realized what his master, Darth Plageuis, realized that the force can strike back against him. Also, the Empire clearly abused people and resources, BUT that's not the same as a scorched Earth policy. It's not the same at all actually.
Not to mention the constant mixing of Canon and Legends info. The comic in which Vader sees a vision of Palpatine creating Anakin inside Shmi's womb doesn't canonize that theory, and a member of Lucasfilm Story Group has confirmed that the vision was an "unreliable narrator". Also the new Star Destroyers are indeed a new variant, and were made not terribly long ago seeing as how the Dreadnought from TLJ was a predecessor to this final design. Generation Tech barely tries anymore I swear, the lore is available but they seem to not care whether the videos are accurate so long as they get lots of views :/
The contingency really does seem like a plan made to make the remains of the Empire crumble away. We're talking about operation cinder right? The point was to burn away what remained of the old empire so that eventually in some decades it would make way for both the first and final orders.
@@pseudonymousbeing987 That's just an assumption though, whereas we know from cannon sources that "the contingency" was IN CASE the Empire fell; not a plan for it to fall.
@@rmhouser19861 Right, I agree. How does this change anything? Either Palps planed to use his newfound power with Luke's body and therefore not require a rebuilt bettered empire because he would be able to handle the Jedi and rebels. And he made sure there was a backup if this failed and he would have another way to eliminate his enemies.
@@pseudonymousbeing987 I understand, but the debate is whether it was all planned. It clearly wasn't. The name "contingency" pretty much makes this explicit, as a contingency is a provision for an unforseen event.

Palpatine was elected emperor. He was allowed to remain in power for as long as there was conflict. So it would be insane for Palpatine to end the conflict because then he had no legal claim to power...the rebellion (as pointed out by Palps himself over Endor) was merely a sideshow he allowed for his own purposes...a never-ending yet minor rebellion keeping him in charge.

Legends and canon point to this being EXACTLY what Palpatine always wanted
Not just to be the only sith
Not just to wipe out the Jedi
But to be the sole, all powerful force user, and god to an empire that had long forgotten any other stable way of life other than under his rule

I'm glad somebody else said it so I don't have to
Couple ways to look at it.
Beggars being choosers
@lcyw20 The 'contingency plan', according to the canon of the computer games and books, was Operation: Cinder, which destroyed loyal Imperial worlds. Why would he destroy loyal worlds when he intended to come back?
This really just feels like a lot of mental gymnastics to make rise of skywalker look like it had a semblance of sense
I think you're head canon is better than what Disney slapped together.
Palpatine is the ultimate Star Wars villain, it was AWESOME!!!! having him in Rise of Skywalker
More the like, he was awesome and they had to resurrect him somehow because they had no other awesome villains.
Imagine if Mace Windu popped up again and his face looks like Darth Sideous from the sith lightning. Thatd be freaky.
SPOILER: PALPATINE’S BEHIND IT ALL
Here’s twist: what if Palpatine is gay because he wants to be “struck down?”
This makes Palpatine double smart but it makes his fall even more comical. Double the pride, double the fall.
Bro we were playing checkers while Palpitine was playing underwater chess.
@@DangerSquad there was a secret back entrance on their base at crait
@@imperiumcommentingnetwork4677 A back entrance that was caved in. If the First Order never brought out the cannon and just focused on trapping them, they likely could have focused on holding off Rey in the Falcon and kept her at bay long enough to secure the exits, especially since she didn't come in until late in the battle. I don't think even Rey's Mary Sue powers could have stood up to the First Order fleet and any reinforcements they would have been able to call in.

All my favourite SW channels are falling over themselves to slam this movie and trilogy and not one of them seems to actually understand the deeper significance of the story being told!
It was Lucas himself that made the final Jedi female, he was just planning originally on having it be Leia.
Leia as a Jedi would have been significantly better than Ma-Rey Sue, even if they stomped all over her character anyway.
I've been saying this for months now. Every time Palpatine says everything is going as i have forseen, he is telling the truth.
WTF! I mean... *_WTF !!_*
And to think they thought George Lucas couldn't write any better !?

The movie was a emotional rollercoaster, the bad, the good and okay's and NOOO's~Vader. I give it a 8/10.
basically this whole sequel trilogy is a remake of the original
With alot of dark empire mixed in
I always wondered why Palpatine was so lazy with the empire. It was uncharacteristic of him but now it makes sense. He played the really long like multiple lifetimes long game
Only to die again, in the moment of his greatest triumph, again.
Nah Marc, it's because some dumbass that wrote shitty Star Wars fanfiction as a kid somehow ended up writing the script to the last Star Wars movie.
It makes no sense, the movie never even explains how palpatine survived at all.
@@lumen101 Palpy only mentions the dark side, so im not sure, really.
At first I thought your channel was annoying but now I watch you everyday lmaooo
It was all part of Palptine plan. Great video

You made me like Rise of Skywalker through the power of palpatine!
I forgot about that Return of the Jedi scene!!! It all makes sense!!!!!!!
I like the theory. Wish Disney LucasFilms would of thought about it, might of had a good sorry for their trilogy.
Go see the movie, he literally says this
Sorry haven’t seen the movie yet just speculating nevermind
it's just the old theory that every Lord of the Sith is Bane, who jumped from body to body.
So is Palpatine Darth Bane or Darth Plagius?
@@coinkidink9997 I'd go back to the inception of the Rule of Two: Bane.
Palps was incredibly cunning, except he made the _same mistake twice_ … not switching off his Force Lightning *when it's being reflected back at him.*

Palpatine has no grand plan
Because Disney had no grand plan.

@@rmhouser19861
Right, I agree.
