Booker T Washington had his interest at heart? All he ever wanted was to educate is people, he is one of the most selfless and greatest African Americans or just Americans period to ever live
When Teddy Roosevelt was Governor of New York, he frequently had Black guests to dinner and sometimes invited them to sleep over. This was also not the first time African Americans were invited to dinner at the White House. In 1798, John Adams had dined in the President's House in Philadelphia with Joseph Bunel (a mulatto representative of the Government of Haiti) and his black wife. Black people, including leaders such as Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth, had been received at the White House by Presidents like Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes and Grover Cleveland. At the invitation of First Lady Lucy Hayes, Marie Selika Williams became the first African American professional musician to appear at the White House.
@@Lillyxxxo So Al Sharpton can be invited but not Elijah. If you don't mind me asking, what do you have against the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad being invited to the White House?
If you're referring to the democratic party, then yes. But it's important to note that democrats back then encompassed many conservative ideals back then. So back then, liberal doesn't refer to a party, but a progressive stance
Booker t Washington is one of the greatest Americans to live. Truly an inspiration.
Roosevelt was ahead of his time. People back then were nuts about segregation laws. Teddy saw booker as an equal.
Booker T. Washington understood accident forgiveness and made sure we were all in good hands
Thank you, Mr. Burns.
An important history all Americans shall remember. Both men deserve great respect as the pioneers of their time.
Yes, there were black Republicans, when they had their interests at heart.
We black Republicans still exist, we need to all vote GOP. Hell the Democrats have been the enemy of blacks past and present.

This comment is so stupid. Black people shouldn't do what's best for them? Sheeesh... get a load of this racist.
Their interest at heart.....as opposed to the Democrat party that was pro slavery. Hahaha people will make up any excuse to avoid waking up
@@sjuvanet Moron playing the race card as usual. There was nothing racist about the comment.
