Thinking life jacket while catching fish off the stern especially when your sister is sleeping, you fall off she will sail away. Just an idea..
Prefer a harness on deck alone and or at night… :-)
Yep. 99.9% of the time you won’t need it but that 0.1% chance could kill you. If she’s asleep for another 10 minutes and doesn’t hear you scream when falling off there’s almost no chance she would find you. Probably would have no idea where/when you fell off.
Step 1, invest in some safety harnesses and some auto-inflating life vests. Anytime youre on watch in those conditions, please tether to the boat.
13:54 Diesel Don to the RESCUE ! Three cheers for Papa's diagnosis and a YELL of appreciation to all who know engines.
Captain Sacha and Captain Natalie, two very fine lady Captains and sailors and, mechanics extraordinaire. Go, Captains.
Yup, that was a breakdown. Good job Nathalie catching it...lol. Congrats on crossing the Gulf Stream and entering the Gulf of Mexico. Sascha, I'm pretty well desensitized to you holding the big reel upside down, but you can't argue with success. Bringing fish onboard is bringing fish onboard no matter how you hold the gear.
This is the side of sailing that most channels don’t show… Most people think sailing is beautiful places, beautiful water, and good times… The hard work, breakdowns, and set backs are like 75% of sailing..
Glad you were able to get "Diesel Don" there quickly! And that he eased your fears, by explaining how the heat exchanger system works. BUT, this is exactly the knowledge that you HAVE TO have to cross the ocean. A brand new engine can break! NEW "O" rings fail. You're good sailors, already and becoming "fair" mechanics😁. AND, so much fun for US to watch.❤🌴🌴🌴
Quick fishing tip. Turn the rod 180 degrees so the reel is upwards. Will make it so much easier for you to reel in the fish.
Nature is BEAUTIFUL! @ 6AM!
Just remember, if it was easy, everyone would do it! I know the feeling of frustration and wanting to give up. Doesn't matter what you do or where you are, there will always be difficulties. You are living a life many of us could only dream of.
amazing to be able to sense how much your stress levels dropped once you heard him, a calm level headed dude, and then see your happy faces again once he explained stuff. you were in a bad spot because you imagined bad scenarios, learn from this to stay focused in reality, one problem at a time.
Low morals can be a good thing 😛 stick with it girls, stay safe!!
I SEE YOU CAUGHT THE MISS SPELLING AS WELL
Low morales can be a good thing. Low morals can not. These are different words with distinctly different meanings.

Happy New Year you two lovelies!! I like it when you're smiling !! I'm looking forward to another year of your adventures! Thank you for sharing and I hope 2022 is a great year for you and all !!👍😁🌴
Stuff happens, glad you all got it figured out. I'm a retired mechanic, only wish I were there to help out. Nice fish catches too!
Happy New Year to both of you ladies, and may 2022 be just as fun and challenging! Thank you for all the great video content, always look forward to hearing from you! Fair winds and following seas, & safe passages!
Just found you guys at this episode. Exciting to see two young girls overcoming the many challenges on an older boat, don’t despair, these are great learning experiences. Great job, we are cheering you on!
Now to go look at some of your previous episodes! 😀😀
Great Job Ladies! Be strong; we love and wish the best for you!
I've enjoyed watching you two overcome the challenges you've faced on that beautiful yacht.
Oh that mischievous grin at 26:58. I actually LOL'd here all alone !
You guys did a rockin job!
BTW, don't seal off the overflow tube from the radiator. Redirect it into a container so the cooling system doesn't over pressure and destroy something expensive. Then when the eng cools down after a run, pour that coolant back into the radiator. You can keep doing this forever and no harm will come.
Stock up on all the spare parts and smooth sailing next season. We love you adventurous guys.Three cheers for Diesel Don.
Good job ladies ! 👍
I have been watching the two of you for nearly a year now. And amongst the many talents, skills and the resourcefulness I've witnessed...one thing stands out about the both of you.....STRENGTH. I have rarely seen the kind of internal strength from folks so young as you two. You ladies are taking on the world, and winning! Every human encounters setbacks, many do not have the strength to continue on and succeed...you do, both of you. I have NO DOUBT you will weather this too. Stay healthy, stay happy...but most of all, stay strong, the world needs you.
Great job getting through the challenges. Getting stretched beyond your comfort zone is where greatness is attained. Highest Blessings
Ytube algorithm brought me here...wow! Respect! Nice catch on the fish & best of luck on your travels. What an adveture...fair winds and flowing seas lady's. Stay safe.
Cracked me up ... 'We learned so much! He pointed at things and talked about them!' 😂😂 I loved it!! Cool channel ... and it looks like for parents did a wonderful job!
I'm so glad to see that everything worked out well. It's distressing to see you so stressed out Sascha. You had me worried that you two might give up this sailing life. That would be sad.
Two gutsy, level headed and good looking sisters. Good for you guys!
Great video girls! You should be very proud of your accomplishments!
You girls are amazing, love watching your videos, the ups and downs, it's always a learning curve. These lessons will only get your better prepared for your big crossing, never stop learning. Thanks for sharing your journey!

You two are an inspiration for sure. Thank you for sharing your sailing life. Love your channel.
Hi Guys ... Happy New Year ... Irrespective of any drama you girls have ... you always try to overcome it ... least this drama was resolvable ... I love your content good bad or otherwise ... love your strength of character ... btw every one has a meltdown occasionally ... Keep up the good work ... Love yas
Good on you Sasha, let it all out! Might not make a difference on the situation but dang it lets the frustration out and you feel ready to dust off & and deal with the matter at hand. Thanks for filming the vulnerable moments. Cos we ALL have them. Keeping it real! 👍
Been one heck of a journey girls , thanks for bringing us along , you guys are strong gals , good and bad it’s been an exciting trip can’t wait for the next one
Natalie your achievement is Great, keep up the good work, there's Angels watching you and your sister
Holy Crap Girl- Sister asleep, only one on deck reeling in big fish, crazy dog.... and no safety line.... bout had a heart attack. Glad you guys got everything sorted.... Please safety line up so we can continue to watch you guy have adventures. Cheers
It is refreshing to see, that you two are doing the things, like most of us. Old Boat, always Problems, broke, many ????, tears, frustration BUT we find always a helpend hand and we overcome our difficulties. So many good experiences come from all the Frustration too. And when you have a reasoning voice on board, all is getting so much easier too. I really like how you work togethet snd DO THE THINGS.
You two are awesome. You have so much resilience and courage I wished I had. Very inspiring to me.
Happy New Year ladies, I was concerned for you for about a minute! I knew you would find the answers you were looking for. 😎👍🏻
I’m so glad this ended on such a positive note, some things happen for a reason. I have a feeling that you can either find a manual to purchase or find one online to download. I know it will probably make you feel better & more secure to go longer distances. It helped me with traveling alone pulling horses with a diesel. Another good thing is if Diesel Don has a guy that can machine parts for you, right now there’s big problems with parts for any Mercedes diesels, mostly Commercial parts.....so you’ve made some great contacts too. Glad you made it and happily too!
I'm so glad you got some help with the engine as far as direction on what to do. Very happy for you. ⛵
Nothing like DRAMA to make good TV or in your case You Tube video, Lol. You must have some Irish blood for 'good luck'. Welcome home !
I hope all the repairs go well!
Still impressed with your ability to action advice received, we all need advice at times and you two accept and carry out so gracefully, proud of you.
I am so happy all the work my brother and I did on the rigging work well for your journey. Looking forward to your next travels.
You two so have it going on in that you have decided to venture out there. And I so admire you for that. Enjoy and please be safe...
Great video, looking forward to the future
You girls are amazing , every episode I am worried about you , glad this was an easy fix ,to get you home
Congratulations on doing an awesome job have fun see you next week
Wow, what a well done video. Thanks for sharing.
Nice job sisters. Good to see you tackle & solve problems. Grow stronger! The world needs more Superwomen like you! Fair winds and following seas.
Hitting those lows to then persevere is the greatest and most satisfying learning experience one could ask for. Remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
Atlast Sascha is smiling.. ❤️❤️❤️
So cool. The breakdown was awesome. Sometimes you just gotta do that
Legends! Thanks for the trip.
Happy New Year. I'm glad you girls have made it almost most home and the problem with the boat didn't stop you from going home I will be watching your next video take care you girls do a good job on your sailing

Peace and Love ❤ from Fairhope, Alabama.
Happy New Years, Congratulations and I hope to be with you both on the Pacific Crossing!
I'll just stay over there for God Sakes!
The highs and lows of boat life! You two are doers.
Happy New Year's girls
This is a longer video than I usually watch, so I was just going to see the first few minutes. That was the point at which I was hooked and watched it all the way through. You guys are great!
Glad you ladies got it figured out 🙏🏼 love from key west 🏝⛵️
That was somewhat nerve racking to say the least. The boating community is incredible. You call this guy up called Desal Dan. He doesn't even know you, but the next thing you know, he is motoring out to your boat to help you with you engine. That was a pretty scary situation. I thought you two handled it really well. The shots of your family, the boat, ocean and the catching of two yummy fish were great viewing. Stay groovy and stay safe.
Can't wait to see what's next.
Good stuff ladies
Sometimes its best just to cry let all the stress and frustration out and then atack the problem from a different angle.
You've done really well you two. Keep up the good work
One foot infront of the other and keep chipping away at it.
Welp great season. Thank God for people willing to help out.
I love you, congratulations , good winds :)
You two are a trip! Im jealous of your life ! I want a redue 🤣
😁
I guess I’m not the only one that’s cried trying to fix something lol it can seem so overwhelming sometimes but your learning and you said it a good manual to look up problems in especially if you don’t have Wi-Fi . Great job ladies 👍👍
Congrats!
You girls are SO brave. I just love seeing you 2 and life on the water. I'll never get that opportunity so I'm living thru y'all. Also I giggled on the engine melt down part, not to be rude. I do my own mechanic work and WOW can it be hell on the soul at time. Chin up girls and smooth sailing!! 😂👍
Shout out and much respect to Diesel Don !!!!!!
Wellldone ladies still learning and working through crise. And being lovely all the while!!!! Sascha you are even beautiful when you cry!!!
Sweet Mahi!
Congratulations on the fish and I am being almost home the only sad thing is The videos will be done love your channel
I would never give back my time living on my boat with my wife. But here is the financial lesson I learned. Bought a boat for 50k cost about 36k over the five years between insurance, maintenance, and dockage/mooring. Eventually sold the boat for 48k.
Bought two houses. One house basically pays for the other and have gone up substantially. Owning two house. Cheaper than owning one boat. And they generate income and provide a tax shelter. But you can’t put a price on a good time. Godspeed.
Excellent.!
Hang in there. You two have solved many problems and can solve this one.
Happy New Year! I have a doggy named Freya too. Fair winds...
There is no such thing as "too much parmesan". You've taken us on quite an adventure journey sailing over these past few months. I enjoyed being there with you. Welcome home.
Awesome sauce! 👍😎👍💕
Good video, y’all are some beautiful ladies. I am any guy would have came to rescue y’all.
the dog looks like a fishing supervisor
First time here. I gotta subscribe just for sheer comedy of these girls.
Been making my living as a mechanics most of my life and sometimes it can b quite frustrating. U stood tall though and got it done and u r back home. Thanks for taking me along and looking forward to the pacific crossing. Need to become one of your paying fans as well.
im a marine mechanic and "im so tired of working on those outboards" is something i say daily. you girls are awesome!
Big shout out to Nathalie..
I saw you in an animal rescue video the other day..
I hope you two had a great Christmas and New Year's..
And glad you got the engine sorted out with the help Diesel Don..👏👏
See you next week ladies.
Happy New Year
Great Job :)
Love you girls !!
Best way to learn something new 😉
you might would do better if you turned your fishing pole over, so the reel is up. . the rod is stronger that way, as it's designed and you'd be reeling it in in a more natural position/pattern, making for less of s struggle.
