- Hello Everyone!
This week we are finally leaving Clarencetown, Long Island. It was a bittersweet moment, but it was time to move on. We left with Spear It Animal on what we thought was a good wind day, but ended up struggling to have good tacks to make it to Landrail Point in the Crooked Islands. We ended up motor sailing the last half, but we finally made it. We had some fun exploring a lighthouse and made some local friends who showed us a really good time on multiple occasions. Anywhere we go, we always find amazing people!!!

Love the fishing! Love the party and the food! Such good times full of Magical Moments! Thank you for sharing!
Great videos great people cheers from australia mate looking good fair winds calm seas cheers
Yep. For whatever reason, I prefer this video format over the last. I like the pre video 'explanation' from in the boat. Just seems to make it more personal vs just having content thrown immediately at me.
Yes we started to remember to do this more!
Can you imagine restoring the light house and living there. What a view!
We thought about that when we explored it!😁 agreed
Great video sailors &fish good informative welldone fair winds calm seas cheers
You can’t imagine how many boaters don’t understand about bringing the RPMs high enough to excite the generator causing it to charge. You ladies are good at explaining what’s going on, why it’s happening, and how you do things when you’re underway. Cool Beans thanks for sharing 👍 yesireebob
Aww thank you! We try to explain as best we can
I agree I've learned a lot watching these two young ladies . I follow a few channels but in my opinion these two seem to explain a lot more than the others.i hope to set sail in the next few years
Beautiful water
Have fun be safe out there enjoy your holiday weekend🩴
Both of you sisters are tremendous ladies.
You could probably hold the fishing pole a better way! I'm surprised no one else commented on it, but when I fish and others fish, we seem to hold the pole under our strong arm (ocean fishers sometimes have a belt with a receptacle for the pole end to pivot on or you can rest in on your leg) and you pull up with your strong arm while winding with your weak hand. It seems the way you did it would be hard on the wrist and not give you as much force on the pole. Even from a similar small aluminum boat on a lake, I used this method although I fish mostly from shore. Try it both ways and see what works best for you. Your friend was spot on about pulling up with the pole and winding down while avoiding getting the line wrapped around the tip. Luckily, my grandfather taught me to cast and wind my reel when I was in kindergarten at maybe 7 years old. He passed this year, but I have a picture of him with a 30+ inch pike or walleye in an aluminum boat at a lake in Canada that we vacationed at for a week, 20 years ago. The fish was too big to keep and it took 30 minutes or so to reel it in and get it swimming again, as a thunderstorm with lightning was headed across the lake. We just beat the lightning getting back to shore. Thanks for another great video!
We have along way to go in the fishing department... learning a lot out here with friends who know what they are doing... Thanks for watching!
Thanks girls
I love following your adventures
Thank ja for following!!
Girls are awesome, good luck and God Bless on your trip.
Thank you!
wow i thought my boat was nice.first ime glad to see life vests on dogs, then ime thinking are they spozed to have em,then i see they have nothing nothing on ,i love this show.
I love you girls !! you're so brave !
Such a kool place , and to still be standing after all those years and hurricanes
Yes it was a very durable structure!
Really look forward to Thursday’s to watch your videos.
Thank you😁
I think your having way to much fun lol
Possibly🤷🏼♀️
@@SailingTheFarSide rum can make for long boat days lol
really like the into and sail footage- nice blend of activities ladies!
Thank you!!
Nice.
Changing the pulley size on alternator will help with that problem youll need an undersized pulley. What it does is make it spin faster at idle. It is just not hitting the break even rpm.
Yes that’s definitely an issue we were having, but not something we could fix till we got back to the states
Missed you last week, it was like leaving home without something. Enjoyed the video, thanks
Glad we were able to get a new episode out for everyone!!
What a great channel. You ladies are bad ass, I'm very impressed with how yall fix and do. Your parents should be very proud.
Thanks so much!!😁
Water is beautiful
Sure was!😁
Excellent videos ladies
Thank you!😁
The lighthouse stairs looked rather dangerous to me! I am glad you all were back on level ground. 🙂
They were a little sketchy
You look much prettyer with your hair down nat.Excelent vid thank you.take care sailing out there
Thank you! Appreciate it😁 sometimes it’s too hot to put keep it down!
Wow!!
Aannnnnnd I’m hooked 🪝loving the Far side adventures ⚓️
Thank you!!
I must be getting old, all those lovely young ladies and all I can think of is some fried Mutton Snapper with a taste of tarter sauce.
Haha it was sooo yummy!
@@SailingTheFarSide Bless your heart !!
Nice work 👌🏼
Thank you!!
OMG Nathalie, you scared me! Climbing that lighthouse was terrifying.
Yes I was scared myself😅😅
Hello pretty lady’s 👋😎🇨🇦
As usual you two get a 👍!!
Thank you!!!
Groovy new video. Different from your others. I dug it. The lighthouse was fantastic. The steps, scary, but worthwhile climb. Nice private party....Lucky girls, lucky life.
Yes very we explored more! Every video is different😁 it was scary for sure
I like watching you guys, I started watching just recently.....but find myself liking the content, both entertaining and informative.
I have no criticism....but if I find myself having to share my thoughts you bet, it will be constructive....not bla bla bla and more bla.
Boat ownership is about having to make repairs in exotic places...but you guys find time to entertain while being humorous.
Be safe....but keep the fun coming, love it.
We are not afraid of constructive!! Have to make a good balance of it all or the boat projects become so overwhelming they seem to never end. The fun helps balance out the frustration and keeps the adventure going forward!
Great girls, thank you, enjoyed that, Nathalie the leader 😍 you girl are 1 strong lady.
Thanks so much😁❤️
Let's see if i have this right. 🤔 A defining characteristic of a big night out for the Far Side crew is replacing a swimsuit with underwear...
I rather doubt I would have climbed to the top of that old lighthouse, even for such a view, without a top rope. It's too bad so many of these historic structures in the Caribbean are being left to the ravages of time.
Keep up the great videos and above all STAY SAFE! ⛵❤️😷
Hmmm yes you may be right😂 and yah it was pretty frightening, but still beautiful! Wish someone took care of it
Awesome video thanks !
Great episode ... love the sailing technique explanation
Thank you!!😁
really enjoyed Sascha's narration
Thanks!
Jazzed to see your latest video this week! Also glad to see you ladies are enjoying yourselves immensely on your own terms, and that you are able to check out some of the local points of interest. I'd be in 7th heaven with all that seafood available there!
Keep up the great video content, it is so relaxing to know that the both of you are so enjoying yourselves in this lifetime experience. Thank you so much, be safe and hugs to you!
Thank you! We definitely were in 7th heaven and so nice to be able to explore. We are always enjoying ourselves😁
I haven’t commented in a while but you two are awesome in this video.
Thanks so much, glad to see ya again😁
Good show, especially tightening the sail and showing the tail ! Be on the lookout, the Caribbean can get busy between now and the end of the season.
I knew early on you folks would be fun...keep it up.
👀 Keep Your Eyes Open...
☀️🌴⛈️🌀🌹
Thanks for continuing to follow along!
Going slow is frustrating; I know because some weekends getting started and doing my projects are slow going, but in the end, a little is a whole lot better than nothing. Fun Show. :)
Thank you!! Slow and steady wins the race, we keep repeating and hoping its true... Thanks for watching!!
I really enjoy y'alls videos I just wanna sail away with my wife and just never go back to living on land lol
Haha do it!!
*At **5:08** in the time line, its called "HEAD WAY not HEAD ROOM".... Love You Girls*
Haha yah, caught that while editing, thought I’d see how many other people caught my incorrect wordage
This is the way!
I enjoy your island hopping. I think you will pick up greater sailing skills doing that. I'm waiting for your sail into the Pacific. I will follow your passage and crossing. Great job ladies. I hope your videos and sailing inspire more adventures from female sailors.
Your alternator performance isn't very good but perhaps your batteries were super low. After a while, your alt should get up to the 14.0~14.4 VDC range, especially if the engine is spinning faster. Smaller pulley could help but at RPM it shold be good anyway.
If it doesn't, those symptoms suggest a failed diode in the alt. If that's the case, you're losing a lot of charge power and that diode could be placing a constant drain (even when eng is off) on any battery it's attached to. If you have a battery selector, you'll want to use it to isolate the alt from the batts.
Good luck!
Thanks for the Tip😁
Well built lighthouse for its day. Hey, I got some take out yesterday from The Caribbean Kitchen in Toronto, CA - 'jerk chicken'. While enjoying the meal, I day-dreamed I was on the Islands Man, Lol 🏝 Thanks for vid 😎
Definitely a well built lighthouse, would've been an amazing place if it had been maintained. Haha that's the way to do it!!!
light house island was perfect for Luca he couldn't run to far away
That’s exactly what we were thinking😂 nowhere to run😂😂
I love the "Sascha needed a boat day..." (wink wink).
Haha everyone needs a day to theirselves
Amazing!!!
Thanks!!
I've meant to ask this for a while but I keep forgetting are the dogs miniature Beagles....I have two blue Frenchies that always sail with me there brother and sister I bought them right after I got my boat they were 6 weeks old so they've pretty much grown up sailing on the boat there not happy anywhere else when were home all they want is to get back on the boat...if they even think you said boat and they go crazy.
Thats amazing!! We had a frenchie growing up and it was the same with her, she was always the first one on the boat
I remember when we graduated from ice coolers to Gas refrigeration the freezer would hold exactly 1 box of Klondike bars !
Haha they’d be gone in one day if we bought them!
Great stuff guys 👍
Thanks😁
Great video, wishing you would show your route from the sea to the anchorage for future cruisers, probably be known as The Far Side Route, because the Crooked Islands have lots of reefs.
They sure do! We draw 6.5 ft so it’s difficult but if you ever need tracks we got them! Just shoot us an email
Fish catching Machine 🙌
💪🏼💪🏼
You girls are cool!
Thank you!😁

Haha thank you!! Its exciting watching that number grow!! Thanks for sticking around 😁
Geez oh , I was cringing watching the video from the top of the light house! Parts of the railing appeared to be rusting. Not for someone scared of heights! But great videos!! Thank y’all!
Thank you!! It was definitely a risky climb..
You know you can connect you pad to your B&G and view from the cockpit.
Interesting we didn’t! Thanks for the tip😁
@@SailingTheFarSide yes there is a B&G app & one called Link. Then you can control the auto pilot from the pad instead of going below
9:44. How bizarre, I was just thinking I would love to be on that beach with my metal detector.... next scene, a metal detector. lol
Yup raf never left the boat without it😂
Livin my dream.
Go and live it!😁
@@SailingTheFarSide I'm about too,see you there!
Climbing the light house made me nervous in my Chair
Yup imagine being the one climbing it! Like wow it was nerve wracking😁
Yummy
Conch salad looks amazing!! Do you have the recipe?
Conch, red pepper, onion, any fresh spicy pepper, lime juice, lemons, if you want fruit like oranges those are good too and then let it marinate!
@@SailingTheFarSide Thank you!! Have a great evening!
Of course, you as well😁
