Would love to see this compared with ZMF caldera and Mysphere 3.1. The prior empys were enjoyable from a tuning perspective but not competent on technicalities. I also prefer the look of the og empys with the copper accents if I want all black I’d go final d8k pro or the new yammy.

I'd love to A/B this against my ZMF Caldera. Description of sound characteristics makes it seem somewhat similar. I'm having a hard time imagining anything with tuning more pleasing to my ear than the Caldera, but certainly am open to experimentation.

The Warwick Bravura doesn't play loud, it literally clips and sounds terrible. I had to send it back and it was not defective because Warwick reproduced the effect at their HQ.

To quantify: i own the arya organic and tried the empyrean elite (the 4k one) at a local store. Build wise, you do notice the empyrean is way nicer. Just feels super comfy and like you're wearing something special. Soundwise: the aryas are bright and the empys are warm. Empys were noticeably more resolving but not like 200% of course.. only like... 5%? So... Are they worth it? Depends on how loaded you are and if you like the sound signature. I'm mid class poor and the aryas are my endgame lol. I also like bright signatures so the aryas are better in that regard - id be eqing the empys unfairly. I listen to metal and rock and the aryas are better suited. I'd be wasting the empys on that music. However if you listen to jazz or classical the empys would be insanely good. I met a 65 year old man who bought the empys because he could, he had the money, but doubt he can hear the details at that age. Sad

Now a days I dont own any planar headphones because my tube amp dont work with them and I love what it do with dynamic drivers. Their QC lacks sorrowly. I' ve bought LTD from them, got them scratched. They repaired the scratch for free, and now (1 day after unboxing) , I saw there' s a new scratch in that area, but it' s covered up with a cheap marker to hide it. My guess is they used something to open the driver casing, and scratched it. I am too tired to go through the month long process of correcting the problem. Customer support is out of this world good and I can only recommend it, but their workers, need to improve, or Meze better QC what they sell.

I just got a Meze elite for the price of one of these. Interesting to see how they compare! Coming from someone who owned Hifaman, I kind of prefer this. The leather headband on the HE1000se really pisses me off as a sweat magnet, no matter what I put between me and it.

It probably isn’t what many would consider a safe tuning (neutal), but I’m loving it based on my short experience. I like my 109 pros. And Love my Lirics. And want to get the Elites, because they are amazing too. Excited to see a second Empyrean. Glad they keep releasing new things. Have that cable and I love it.

I got both, now that my Emp II arrived, and I can tell you the Emp II is all what Joshua told us, pure endgame - EXCEPT for Rock music. The Organic blows the Emp II out of the water if an electric guitar and a rock singer are on stage. I have not tested hip hop, because that is not my forte. Everything else Pop, Classic, Jazz, Emp II is a clear step ahead of the likes of Hifiman HE1000V2 and Aryas. It better be for double the prize. But dynamic and emotional rock - it is boring. Soundstage of Organic is wider, but the stage of the Emp II is wide enough and the imaging feels more precise. Good singing voices get a holographic quality (never thought I write this term, it is the first time I really understood this). So I will keep my Organic for Rock, for Gaming, for Movies.

Personally I always loved after switching from Hifiman to Meze sound. Because it gives more of a musical experience than both Senny and Hifimans. And I've heard Arya Organic is a bit treble sensitive so. Also one reviewer said it is like Sennheiser and Audeze had a baby then it would be Emperian II. So I guess you won't be missing out much on resolution and detail retrieval as well.
I'm also interested in this. Was looking to buy the he1000 stealth but after seeing these, I just can't decide if I should save since the looks alone are just amazing
I just had a mini heart attack over dropping nearly $1700 on a ZMF Auteur Classic I don’t think I can handle the health repercussions of dropping 3K on cans. They are sexy though.
I dropped ~2200 on ZMF VC, never gonna regret it. Buying expensive headphones also mean you need high quality amp and that fact double the price. I hope you do justice for your Auteur and feed them by proper tubes, those are "mini" Atriums I'm sure they are fantastic

But I have seen this video for another time cause it somehow conbtradicts to others and I tend to support them. To sum it up, the Emperyan II was compared to the Ananda nano in its technical abilities if not worse, here it is praised as one of the best headphones of the market. Ok everybody can have his own opinion but one of these 2 MUST be wrong there is no way around that.
It could point to a severe lack of quality control. I do agree though, something is seriously wrong when there such a huge disparity in people's perception of a headphone and the inability of many reviewers to clearly explain the characteristic in comparison with other headphones.

Or maybe the Mr and tungsten weren't at your disposals for as long as you'd like. Every reviewer on the planet prefers the Tungsten and dms only has a tungsten for his technical headphone, he uses his own and zmfs which are colored, while his omega is probably between an hd600 and audeze mm500 in terms of tuning.
This is why im happily stuck with the 600 line, maybe 800. The size of these or Audeze or ZMF or the big Hifimans are just ridiculous, sorry. They look ridiculous. There's something so sweet about the 600 or Beyers build and comfort. I understand this isnt for me. May grab the 109 but my Focals collect dust because of build and comfort, even tho they're "better" than the 660
I love your channel but I want to point out a slight annoyance. Your top 3 favorite closed back headphones all leak sound like crazy. When im thinking closed vs open Im thinking about use case because otherwise there would be no reason to separate them. Please consider adding a list for closed-backs that are actually good at isolation. Thank you.
High end sourced sound signature is a personal thing of course. I did however sell my Meze Elite a few days ago. All in all it was a disappointment. Comfortable listening is the best that I could say about them. Utopia (gen 2) is my daily driver. I'm obviously after details. And I find that once you go to the "dark side" of resolution and details, it is tough to settle for anything else. Meze may have managed to create something completely new and great. I'm curious.
Interesting. I feel the same, except the inverse. I found that I was ultimately happier once I stopped chasing details/transparency and instead found the sweet spot of tuning matched with technical performance. For example, my lcd-5 was so detailed that, while fun at first, it was distracting me from just enjoying the music. There’s also the added benefit that I no longer feel FOMO since I’m not chasing after moar details. 😊

I really like treble but on days i feel a bit sensitive to it i just add a slight high shelf starting at 5khz. I don't own tubes but i agree with you.

There's something so sweet about the 600 or Beyers build and comfort. I understand this isnt for me. May grab the 109 but my Focals collect dust because of build and comfort, even tho they're "better" than the 660

I love your channel but I want to point out a slight annoyance. Your top 3 favorite closed back headphones all leak sound like crazy. When im thinking closed vs open Im thinking about use case because otherwise there would be no reason to separate them. Please consider adding a list for closed-backs that are actually good at isolation. Thank you.

High end sourced sound signature is a personal thing of course. I did however sell my Meze Elite a few days ago. All in all it was a disappointment. Comfortable listening is the best that I could say about them. Utopia (gen 2) is my daily driver. I'm obviously after details. And I find that once you go to the "dark side" of resolution and details, it is tough to settle for anything else. Meze may have managed to create something completely new and great. I'm curious.
Interesting. I feel the same, except the inverse. I found that I was ultimately happier once I stopped chasing details/transparency and instead found the sweet spot of tuning matched with technical performance. For example, my lcd-5 was so detailed that, while fun at first, it was distracting me from just enjoying the music.
There’s also the added benefit that I no longer feel FOMO since I’m not chasing after moar details. 😊
