Lies of P was great but what made it better for me was the last cut scene of the game which i wont spoil BUT i cant wait for the follow up game.

Regarding not needing to play the previous game - agreed gameplay wise, but story-wise, as far as I saw, it does seem very relevant (like meeting Harken, the protagonist of the first game, pretty early on). Figured would be worth knowing for Chalice or others if they get interested in the lore
You are right! Yes, thank you for clarifying that! From what I have seen, there are multiple familiar faces and appearances from the first game. Can't wait to do some character analysis and comparison to those who have shown up again :D

I really like your vids of lore hunting, just like your oppinion on stuff in Elden Ring
For this vid there is 1 remark of mine:
The Partisan class isn't named after the weapon; if it would be like that, you would expect them to wield one,
and there is not even such weapon in the game
The Partisan class is, well a partisan - member of an irregular fighting unit; part of some kind of resistance, fighting against occupying forces
The character runs like such a fucking goober and I love it.
Listening to your voice is so relaxing. You should make a second ASMR channel 😊

I love this game, having a blast playing through and cooping to help others. I just think of the 30fps multiplayer as a throwback to bloodborne 😂
Hopefully they continue to improve the game.
Can you pleeeeease do a podcast for lore or storytelling? I love your voice and it puts me to sleep so well. Your videos are often short, and YT always has blaring ads that interrupt your mellow vibe.

This game looks really cool, the art style is really good too
I will definitely get this at some point in the future. I have read about the criticisms (enemy placement, etc) but they arent that concerning (LoF has also been patched a few times).
However with so many Soulslike now saturating the market, IMO i have struggled a bit with which ones i would recommend to people.
And my recommendations go to the Fromsoft Soulslikes (most original, most polished). After that to the artstyle and the setting (LoF is great in these things).
Difficulty is secondarily now (LoF bosses arent considered the hardest), isnt one of the primary reasons anymore, being hard for the sake of hard.
Another game i can recommend is Steelrising (nice artstyle & nice setting).

I will definitely be playing this, Lies of P and Wo Long; Fallen Dynasty over the weekend. I call those games The Big 3! Those games should occupy me up until the 17th of November.
yr voice reminds me of an old friend of mine with a similarly [small/subtle but also rich] sort of presence/intonation & i think that makes it Extra, extra-relaxing for me. Trying hard to focus on the words and not just sink heedless into a sea of comfy neurotransmitters XD

If you had been the voice actor for Pieta this game would've been 10/10
I feel like this game is a love letter to FROM SOFTWARE. It clearly borrows *many* features and mechanics of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and Sekiro, but also manages to feel incredibly unique in its own way with its expanded combat options and the fixation around the lamp / Umbral.
Respect for you using a mouse and keyboard!

Good question! For full transparency, I was playing the Early Access build so there were a couple of minor bugs and I did have some crashes. However the team did patches and bug fixes pretty frequently. And after the latest patch, I've had no more crashes and they've even improved a frame rate issue so the game runs smoothly on my PC even though it's getting on a bit. Will need an upgrade soon to do this game's graphics justice!!

To think that the LotF games are old enough to have a "Spiritual Successor", i feel old already :(

It feels more of a reboot/reimagine then a spiritual successor even if this game takes place a millennia after the first one
I have read the complaints, but they dont matter that much honestly in the grand scheme of things. That is because the benefits (great artstyle) outweight the drawbacks. Do note that some of the problems have been patched or their effects lessened because of patches. Drawbacks are enemy placements (usually some melee and a ranged/caster). some enemy varieties ex.various types of dogs, fire dogs, cold dogs etc) & the boss fights arent the hardest (thats not not that much of a issue here, honestly not everything has to be superboss difficulty).
This game kinda reminds me or mortal shell in terms of gameplay can’t wait to get this
If you're allowed to say whatever you want about the game positive/negative what have you, they must be very confident in their product. We need more of this in the gaming industry.

@@BigBoss-sr6urwell, no, if you have to implement the systems yourself, it could still be bad. Lords of the fallen 1 was kinda bad, for example.
@@BigBoss-sr6ur This is a pretty cynical take, it's not like this game didn't bring new mechanics to the table, and if it were that easy, other soulslikes would have been a hit too but that wasn't the case (looking at you Code Vein) even fromsoft themselves missed the mark with ds 2 lol. Also by that logic almost no form of media/art of the past 50 years deserves credit because everyone takes inspo from something they liked.
If I ever get this game, I will probably just keep making new characters and see what whacky builds I can make as I did with Elden Ring and Bloodborne.

I'm still fairly young in my play through, I have two. My first was the condemned, really rough, and I have not gotten far with it, haha. My second character is a dark crusader, I have taken out one main boss with my crusader. If anyone has some tips for the condemned class, I'd appreciate it.
I don't really like to farm, but if that's one of the viable options, I will. Also, I'd enjoy some new buddies to play with on Xbox, and none of my friends play souls games. Reply if you'd like to co-op or duel 🤙.
It definitely looks like it's a big step up from the first game. A bit of a bummer that the NPC's are meh. And the character skeleton looks a little weird, like they're part gorilla or something. But otherwise the game looks like a lot of fun. I couldn't get far in the original cause the combat was way too clunky and I hated having to dodge really early to avoid attacks
You know a games gotta good when miss chalice say "Badass", ive never heard her swear before certainly surprised me.

I actually really like this game. Its jank as fuck but the lore and such I absolutely adore.
If you play the first game or at least know the story and Harkons choice it makes stuff easier to understand. The endings in lotf are kind of bad and the Inferno ending feels like the best ending.
Also Sparky is from the first game so if you havent played that its kind of like, why is he important?
It’s definitely not an Elden Ring, but it’s sure a helluva good game. Definitely worthy of a title other than “Dark Souls clone”
Hitting enemies in this game feels like you are hitting pumpkins.

Oh man, my heart skipped a beat when I saw your review for this pop into my feed. I've been enjoying every sneak preview and review of this game so far. Looks amazing. Damn shame about the lackluster characters and voice acting, though. Ziostorm had the same complaint as you. Hopefully something the writers will take to heart from the reviewers.

Lords of the Fallen really told me i should have spent more time learning to parry in the Souls games instead of tanking or going magical 😂

I have played the original, but I have dropped it 3 times before doing every achievements, that game is nearly unplayable. So, I wasn't going to give this version a chance, but I might just change my mind after such a review
Ullo! Great content as always! Just an observation, you seem to have a fair bit of reverb with your sound recording on this one. Shame to take away from that voice of yours :P.
I am only 4 hours in and it's harder than Lies of P for me. You rarely fight just one or two mobs at a time. I didn't fight many bosses but they are easier than the levels themselfes so far. For me that is.

How is the multiplayer? I really didn't like Elden Rings multiplayer until the seamless co-op mod came out. Then it was fantastic! I don't like the needless repetition of rejoining after every death.
I haven't tested the co-op yet, but from what I've seen the host can invite one friend into their version of the world. You can explore, run around, do bosses etc. without having to resummon each time. The host can also drop stuff for their friend as I'm not sure loot is multiplied for the friend. Whilst playing co-op you can also get invaded I believe.

Game looks amazingly derivative of Souls games, with barely an original idea to be found; however, I really like the look of the game, unlike Lies of P where I didn't like the Grim Cuphead aesthetic.
I watched for maybe 3 mins, chalice said its good. I stop watching buy the game, feel alittle annoyed with my purchase. Then it clicked... daggum yall this game is Great. This has been a psa by the 'Broken bucket gang'
