Dialogue from the ghost hanging outside The Impaler's catacombs gives a hint of who Messmer the Impaler actually is
"O'Marika, Queen eternal, he is your unwanted child"
Was under our noses the entire time

Where is the ghost? I can’t find him outside the catacomb
the ghost that says this is in fact in the game but NOT in front of that specific catacomb (so the comment above is not 100% correct)! He is found close to a mausoleum on the weeping peninsula and the full dialogue goes like this "The mausoleum prowls. Cradling the soulless demigod. O Marika, Queen Eternal. He is your unwanted child." BUT it could STILL be about Messmer since in one of the churches of Marika Melina says quote: "Hear me, Demigods. My children beloved. Make of thyselves that which ye desire. Be it a Lord. Be it a God. But should ye fail to become aught at all, ye will be forsaken. Amounting only to sacrifices..."@@fistybaby9489
i still think however, the dialogue is about godwyn (i'm off the opinion that Marika actually planned the whole night of the black knives herself and that Ranni did NOT 100% know what she was doing/what would happen if she went through with her plan to free herself from the greater will, yet she gets/takes all the blame for it because even if she didn't exactly know what it would do to godwyn, by k*lling herself she set everything else into motion.
@@lunateacCouldn't be also a reference to one of the Omen twins? Mohg for example, since it quotes "mausoleum" and its the same name given to Mohg palace undeground
The look on your face when you saw Messmer was priceless.

Then it makes even more sense that the guy with the snake and the red hair is Miquella - Maybe even some type of alter ego/duality shenanigans like with Marika/Radagon?

I remember every single time I hit that egg with my sword hoping an alternate universe would spawn from it, and they all called me crazy!😵😅
HAHAHA i feel you there! We ALL kinda knew we didn't see the last of that egg - I love that it IS actually the entrance to the DLC. It just fits perfectly

You don't have to fool us, Luna! We all know that you knew the release beforehand. I've read it in every 3rd letter of every streamtitle since the game originally released. They read "Game will come out in June and Luna will predict it. Please make it happen, Miyazaki"

Ok hear me out: Mesmer is (somehow) miquella and Mohg offspring. (Yknow, All that stTrina stuff)
It could be! I was trying to connect Mogh/the formless mother and St. Trina to all of this! And I think you might see a pregnant woman on that one portait with the old man maybe? At least she's holding her belly - don't know if that is relevant to Miquella/Messmer/St.Trina or a completely different character though)
But question is - WHY THE SNAKES and Messmers yellow Snake Eye?! Something associated with Rykard? Can't wait to play the DLC and see how it all clicks - or confuses us even more :D
I got more Rykard vibes. The snakes for one but the blade on the spear looks like the sword you get from Rykard's soul?
